Chapter 1310:
Fiona quickly typed something on her keyboard. A map appeared in the chat window. She said flatly, âThe basic layout is ready, but I intend to enhance it further.â
Harlee nodded slightly in acknowledgment. Fiona was known for her detail-oriented approach. She only had to complete the final touches. Harlee proceeded to assign new tasks and announced that the remaining 250 members of Twilight had arrived and should begin integrating into their roles. These 250 members primarily originated from the Shadow Moon Society and Rhysâ underground network, forming the core of the Moonlight Enterprise and the essential personnel of the Late Moon Information Network.
Harlee had chosen the name âTwilightâ upon her return to Baythorn, though it was only known internally.
After receiving all updates, Harlee ended the meeting. Rhys, who had been silently watching, stood and approached her. Harlee sipped her milk and then looked up slowly.
As she turned to face him, Rhys gently cupped her face, looking into her eyes with intensity. âYou were supposed to be resting. Is this your idea of relaxation, holding a video conference in your study?â
Harlee replied calmly, âIsnât it normal to be up and about before bed?â Harlee sighed inwardly. Rhys had recently developed a pattern of appearing anytime she had been working for more than an hour. He seemed to have a knack for pinpointing her location. Even when she was occupied with tasks elsewhere, he would track her downâ¦
In no time, the continuous phone calls would start. She felt a twinge of annoyance, though it was tinged with amusement.

âYou might just find yourself sleeping in the guest room or permanently in this study if you keep setting up cameras here,â she commented, keeping her face neutral.
âDamn,â Rhys cursed under his breath, then cleared his throat and looked at her tentatively. âLee, are you mad?â
Grabbing the coffee from the table, Harlee took a deep gulp before replying, âNo, Iâm not mad. I just donât like feeling watched all the time.â
âWhy did you have Tania move in next door, then? Doesnât that annoy you?â Rhys blurted out without thinking.
Harlee paused for a moment, slightly taken aback, and then replied softly, âShe isnât causing you any trouble.â
âShe is!â Rhys whispered into her ear. âEverything about her is oddâshe keeps copying Tonyaâs behavior. Itâs a terrible imitation, and frankly, itâs unsettling.â
There was a clear note of contempt in Rhysâ voice.
Harlee nearly choked on her drink and almost spit it out. Rhys had barely known any details, yet his insights were so precise. Noel was right. Rhys was so sharp that she had to be extra cautious to keep the secrets from him.
âDrink it slowly,â Rhys said gently as he patted her back. âThatâs why I think itâs better to distance her. Interacting with someone like that isnât good for you.â
âNo,â Harlee said firmly.
Rhys appeared confused. âWhy not? Whatâs so important about her? Why is it necessary to keep her close by?â
âShe matters a lot,â Harlee said pointedly.
She added meaningfully, âKeep the topic on track. If there are still cameras here by tomorrow, you wonât be sharing the master bedroom with me.â
âIâll ask Patrick to remove them at once,â Rhys replied, sounding a bit sheepish. Whenever Harlee showed her displeasure, he would invariably relent.
