Chapter 1309:
Harlee responded with a soft smile, âAlright, Iâll take your advice.â
âGood,â Noel said, smiling gently. âBut given how sharp Rhys is, I doubt itâll take long before he finds out about your condition and gets involved in your treatment.â
âYeah⦠I understand,â Harlee responded, her voice faltering slightly. She wished she could keep Rhys in the dark a bit longer, at least until it was too late to consider terminating the pregnancy. âPlease, try to delay telling him. Noel, please donât suggest anything about abortion.â
At that moment, Harlee seemed utterly vulnerable, pleading earnestly for his discretion.
Noel stared at her for a moment before responding, âYou⦠I get it. Iâll assist you as best as I can, and I wonât recommend abortion to him. However, you must make me a promiseâdo not exert yourself. Being pregnant means you arenât as strong as usual. Donât push yourself too hard.â
âI promise,â Harlee replied. Her role was primarily to oversee the operations on the Island, with the actual tasks being managed by her team, so her involvement wouldnât be physically demanding.
âWeâll meet again in two weeks.â Noel gave a soft wave, then turned and departed, entering the black Bentley that awaited him without another glance back.

As Harlee watched him drive away, a smile touched her lips, and she murmured, âNoel, have a safe journey. Iâll wait for your return.â
Over the next two weeks, Harlee truly lived as Noel had suggestedâaccording to her own pace. She woke up each morning without an alarm, responded to messages at her leisure, rested with naps whenever she felt tired, and had Nyomi prepare nourishing meals whenever she was hungry. Her days unfolded in a relaxed and enjoyable manner.
Yet, Harlee didnât neglect her duties concerning the Island. In her moments of free time, she would log on to check the progress of the projects.
Reclining comfortably on the sofa in her quiet, deluxe bedroom, Harlee conducted an online meeting from her laptop set on the coffee table, discussing with Thiago, Desmond, Alina, and others.
Thiago said, âThe construction on the island is advancing swiftly. We anticipate that the employee dormitories will be finished by the end of this month, after which we will tear down the existing villas to rebuild them. Moreover, the camping site and forest area you envisioned are nearing completion. Weâre also in the process of identifying suitable plots for vegetable gardens and orchards.â
Harlee turned her attention to Desmond, who was overseeing the labor on the island. âIs it all going smoothly, or have you faced any challenges?â
The ongoing construction on T&H Island could be seen behind Desmond as he sat under a large tree, his microphone off, speaking quietly to someone beside him.
Upon hearing his name, Desmond stopped to provide an update. âThere have been some challenges. The workforce remaining on the island lacks expertise, which complicates task delegation. However, they follow orders well. As long as Iâm the one giving directions, no one questions them, and we manage to keep things on track.â
As Desmond spoke, he glanced at a small video window on his computer screen. âThe criteria for recruitment are strict, resulting in only a handful of new construction workers arriving on the island.â
âMake sure the screening for long-term employees is even more rigorous. If necessary, implement additional methods for conducting background checks,â Harlee instructed.
At that moment, someone entered. Harlee glanced up briefly before focusing back on her work. âFiona, is the network infrastructure completely set up?â
