I went back to the party hall. I was searching for Annie.
"Lara, where did Luiz take you?", Annie asked from back.
She was chuckling.
"Nothing.", I said because I did not know what to reply.
"Oh god! Come here.", she pulled me out of the hall and took me to one of the rest rooms.
"Show your neck.", she said brushing away the small amount of hair I had around my neck.
"It's a love bite.", she said depressed.
"Means?", I asked.
"See for yourself in the mirror.", she said and I saw.
There was a bruise kind of thing on my neck because of which there was a huge reddish mark.
Oh no! This can be so embarrassing. Maybe this is the reason why Alex was staring at my neck.
"Hide it.", Annie said.
I drew all my hair to one side to hide the mark.
It's a love bite. A LOVE bite! Which means Luiz loves me. My happiness knew no bounds!!
I went back to the party hall with her from garden.
There was a lot of commotion in the party as Alex was sitting on a bike.
Who brought such a large bike inside?
It was written Ducati on it.
People were cheering so much.
So it is his birthday gift!
I looked around for Luiz.
He was still in the lounge drinking with Portia and the guy I think whose name was Eric.
He was laughing, smiling and talking as if nothing happened between us just some time before.
After a few minutes, our eyes met. He looked at me for just few seconds and got engaged in conversation with his friends again.
He is so different tonight! He is making me feel special and he is avoiding me at the same time. Wont he make me meet his friends? Like the way he did to Maryam?
Argh! What's wrong with me?
"Excuse me. I will just come.", Annie said and excused herself and I stood there all alone.
All of a sudden, in that huge crowd I was feeling alone.
I saw the crowd moving away.
After a few minutes, a huge cake was placed on the table. There was a knife which was like a small sword. Alex wore a crown on his head. There was a throne kind of seat placed near the cake.
Alex went and sat on it and held the sword in his hand, ready to cut the cake.
Now this is really too much! He does not look like prince, he looks like a buffoon!
All the girls around him started howling and he finally cut the cake and there were some sparkles which were sprayed by his friends after which they all became uncontrollable.
They were screaming very loudly and once again the songs started to play and people started to dance and drink.
Luiz and Eric were in the same place drinking. There was a very pretty girl sitting next to Luiz. Annie did not come back so I decided to go to Luiz.
"Who is she?", that girl asked him.
"She is my so-called wife.", he said.
"Dude, your wife is really pretty!", Eric said.
"Yeah, a pretty little liar!", he said.
My heart squeezed after hearing what he said.
"Hey! Get it right dude, pretty little liars. It is my favourite movie.", Eric said and they all started laughing.
"Luiz, are you avoiding me?", I asked, avoiding the non-sense.
He looked at Eric and they both started laughing again. Even the girl next to him started laughing.
It was so insulting! I shall tell him later not to behave like this.
I stood there for a long time waiting for them to stop but they didn't.
"I asked you something.", I said.
"Why did you put all your hair on one side?", he asked laughing and extended his hand to touch my hair.
I prevented his hand. I didn't want to show that mark to people around.
"Are you hiding something?", he asked and again they all started laughing.
Did he deliberately do it? To show it to Alex? My god! If so, I will never forgive him for using me.
"Shall we go home?", I asked him.
It is okay if we are not having dinner here.
"Oops! I thought you never wanted to go.", he said sarcastically.
That's enough! I will not talk to him till he realizes his mistake.
I started walking away from him.
I will leave by myself.
"Sorry Lara! Was held up.", Annie came back and said when I was about to leave.
"It's fine. Anyways I will leave now.", I said.
"No. No. Please don't. Dance here with me.", she said.
"Annie, some other day.", I said.
"Please. We will never get such a chance. Besides, I never danced with you", she said pleading me.
Wow! Annie has changed so much. She is no more that rude and arrogant Annie I knew.
"Okay.", I agreed.
She pulled me in the middle of the dance floor and started dancing.
I did nothing but imitating her. She was too cute doing all those steps.
After some time, I felt two hands around my waist from back.
I felt the breath near my ear.
Annie started smiling more than me.
May be Luiz realized his mistake and he came for a dance!
I smiled at the thought.
But amidst the crowd, I saw two eyes glaring at me angrily. It was Luiz.
Then who is holding me?
I turned back immediately and saw that it was Alex.
Shit!
I quickly took his hands off. But he smiled like he has achieved something.
I looked back at Luiz but he was gone.
"Thanks Annie!", I heard Alex saying to Annie.
"Anytime.", she said.
My eyeballs popped out in shock!
Did they plan on this?
"What is going on?", I asked both of them.
"Well I just took revenge from him. Tit for tat!", Alex said winking at me.
I cringed!
"But Annie you?", I asked shocked.
"You snatched Luiz from me, I will not let you have him either!", she said with full hatred.
How can people cheat like this?
I controlled my tears and walked away.
I started searching for Luiz all over the hall, but he was nowhere to be seen.
I found Portia.
"Portia, have you seen Luiz anywhere?", I asked.
"He left sometime ago.", she said.
"Okay. I will also leave.", I said.
"Have dinner.", she said aloud.
"Please. I have to leave.", I said.
"Sure. Thank you so much for attending.", she said and left.
I quickly took a cab and reached home.
I didn't have money so I asked one of the security men to pay.
I hope Luiz understands me! It was not my fault.
