Chapter 125: Chapter 125 - Liar

This meal was to celebrate our enrollment in M University. Jing Ni and I had a great time. We joked about my little uncle. Jing Tian had a faint smile on his lips the whole time.

There wasn’t many such happy day in my life, both previous and now. I wished that the time would stop moving. But regardless, my life as a university student began.

When the semester started, I realized the four of us had different majors. This was perfect because we would be at different departments and we would only meet each other at night.

But I wasn’t looking forward to the reunions at night.

Lu Yan was a very outgoing person. She was naive and kind. She didn’t know the lines of social boundaries and didn’t know how to read the room. Jing Ni and I weren’t exactly social butterflies but we got along very well with Lu Yan. We felt this was quite good because we needed someone to stand forth if something happened within the four girls inside the dorm.

“I dare you to give me your boyfriend’s number. We’ll fight this out fairly!” This was the first thing she told me.

At the time, I was doing my homework and I looked at her in surprise. “Do you think I’m dumb? Why would I give you his number?”

Jing Ni giggled.

Mai Qi grumbled with annoyance. “If you have such confidence in your relationship, why are you afraid of my interference? If I can steal him from you, it means that he doesn’t really love you! You shouldn’t keep a man like that around you! I am doing you a favor. There are so many people who beg me to test out their boyfriends but I am voluntarily offering my help to you!”

“Thank you but I really don’t need your service.” I answered calmly.?How did this girl even get into M University? If Nanyang knew about this, she would be so mad.

Mai Qi didn’t give up. She said arrogantly, “I came to you politely but you didn’t give me face so don’t come crying to me when something happens!” She swaggered away like a peacock with his tail fanned open. I watched her disappear out the door.

Jing Ni slid her chair over and whispered, “She’s so determined. I’m worried for Mr. Tong Le.”

I stuck out my tongue, “If my little aunt is someone like that, I’d move out of the house immediately. She’d torture me to my death if I stay!” I gave an exaggerated shudder.

To our surprise, Mai Qi suddenly turned back. Jing Ni and I separated and returned to our seats. However, when we saw the people behind Mai Qi, we were shocked. It was Ye Qian and Gu Yan.

When Ye Qian saw me, she was all smiled, “Nanxing, long time no see!”

“Indeed!” I shook her hand while my mind worked at full speed.?What is going on?

Mai Qi was surprised. “You two know each other?”

“Yes, we’re good friends!” “We’re mere acquaintances!” Ye Qian and I said in unison. Mai Qi’s eyes glowed.

I glanced at Jing Ni. Looks like there was no point in pretending anymore now that these people were here. Gu Yan nodded but said nothing.

Mai Qi, the scary love-drunk monster, asked directly, “Sister Qian, do you know her boyfriend?”

“Boyfriend?” This time, it was Ye Qian and Gu Yan who looked at each other.

Gu Yan’s face turned extremely ugly. She glanced at me with a vicious look in her eyes.

Mai Qi explained, “Yes, he’s very tall, about 1.9 metres. He’s good looking. He has slightly curly hair. Sister Qian, do you have her boyfriend’s contact info?” Mai Qi’s eyes were practically glowing.

Ye Qian asked me, “Is she talking about Mr. Tong?”

I nodded. “That’s the one.”?Tong Le, I’m so sorry. It’s not that I don’t want to help you but the opponent is too strong.

Ye Qian giggled, “So our little princess has a crush on Mr. Tong Le?”

“So his name is Tong Le? Hey, you over there, is that him?” Mai Qi demanded.

My heart skipped a beat as I glanced at Jing Ni.?This is too strange. If my memory serves me right, Ye Qian is my little uncle’s admirer. Back then she was determined to get him so why is she handing him over to Mai Qi?

“Our Mai Qi sure has good taste! Mr. Tong Le is a dashing bachelor.”

“Bachelor?” Mai Qi’s eyes widened.

Ye Qian was startled. “Yes, Mr. Tong Le is single. Nanxing, your little uncle hasn’t found a girlfriend, right?”

Mai Qi pointed at my nose. “Nanxing, how dare you lie to me?”

I leaned my head back and shrugged, “When did I lie? You never did ask me to clarify my relationship with Tong Le.”
