Marissa smiled and nodded. âThatâs sweet of you. Just put the snacks down; Iâll taste them when I get back. Sophia, weâve got some stuff going down at our place today, so we canât keep you around. You can come over some other time, and Iâll whip up something nice for you.â
Sophia grinned knowingly. âGranny, no worries, you donât have to be so formal! By the way, are you guys heading out? I drove here, so how about I give you a ride?â
Marissa gently declined. âNo need; weâve got a driver who can take me, so you donât have to bother.â
Sophia was still eager. âItâs no bother; Iâve got nothing else going on anyway.â
Veronica had a beef with Sophia because she always tried to cozy up to her grandparents whenever she came over.
As a woman, Granny could understand where Sophia was coming from.
But Grandpa was another story; he was totally charmed by Sophiaâs brown-nosing. He loved how outgoing and generous Sophia was, always singing her praises.
Just thinking about it made Veronicaâs blood boil.
Veronica said sourly. âSophia, I know the hots you got for my brother, but donât bother; heâs not into you!â
Sophia shrugged helplessly, playing innocent. âVeronica, Iâm just offering to give you and Granny a lift.
Donât read too much into it; I donât have any ulterior motives.â
Veronica rolled her eyes contemptuously. âYou know damn well that youâve got other intentions! Let me tell you, Ellinorâs already back; no matter how much you try to suck up to my brother and grandparents, it wonât do you any good.â
After hearing this, Sophia was first stunned, then her face lit up with joy. âReally? Ellinorâs back? Where is she? Granny, are you going to see Ellinor now? Can I come with you? Iâve always wanted to meet her.â
Marissa frowned slightly, helpless against Veronicaâs big mouth. âSophia, I know you mean well, but letâs do it another day. Ellinor just got back, so she must be tired and not ready to meet new people. Iâll introduce you guys some other time.â
Sophia insisted warmly. âGranny, donât worry; I wonât be a bother to Ellinor. I think Ellinor left before because she misunderstood my relationship with Theo; it might be better if I explain it to her myself.â
Marissa found this reasonable, and she started to waver.
Ellinorâs departure might indeed have something to do with Sophia.
Now that Theo and Ellinor were having a chat, if Sophia went and cleared things up, they might patch things up.
Veronica sneered. âGranny, let her go if she wants to! I think she should explain things to Ellinor in person. Plus, when she sees Ellinor, sheâll get the hint about my brother.â
After some consideration, Mrs. Blanchet nodded. âAlright! Sophia, you can come with us.â
Sophia chuckled happily. âThanks, Granny!â
After handing the snacks to the Blanchet familyâs servant, Sophia picked up her car keys and headed out, helping Mrs. Blanchet along the way.
Ellinorâs back!
She could finally see what kind of person this Ellinor really was.
Over at the dining area, all the dishes were served.
The waiter couldnât remember who ordered what and just placed them on the table according to the serving order.
I will Recommend Read this novel.. very interesting..
