Sophia dropped a box of sliced fruits on Theoâs desk and casually plopped down on the chair across from him. As she opened the box, she said with a smile, âI know this may sound dull, but hey, youâre here! I want to meet new people and try new stuff. Lifeâs all about experiencing the unfamiliar, you know.â
With that, she picked up a piece of chilled watermelon with a fruit stick and handed it to Theo.
Theo had just finished a dragged-out meeting, and there were things that seemed to be getting on his nerves. He felt like his head was spinning. He took the watermelon from Sophia, popped it in his mouth, and the coldness from the fruit somewhat soothed his frustration.
Sophia also took a bite of the watermelon. She nibbled a small mouthful, blinked, and curiously asked, âTheo, you must have liked Ellinor a lot. She must have been good to you, right?â
Chlew of the Hearing the name of the woman that had been bothering him made Theoâs eyebrows knit. He stayed silent for a moment and then retorted. âWhat do you mean by âgoodâ?â
Sophia chuckled as she munched on her watermelon. âWell, like me, for example, bringing you fruits when Iâm free, or giving you a call to check on you, asking when youâll be home. Or making your favorite food and waiting for you to come home to eat together. And giving you small romantic surprises, or expressing love to you frequently.â
Theoâs expression turned darker as a sarcastic smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
What a joke!
She did nothing.
That woman probably didnât even know what he liked to eat!
After seeing Theoâs gloomy look, Sophia put on a face as if sheâd just realized she said something wrong. âOh⦠Ellinor hasnât done anything for you? Iâm sorry, Theo, I didnât know youâd been giving unilaterally.â
Theo kept silent as his eyes filled with gloom.
Unilateral givingâ¦
What a perfect phrase.
She was never serious about him. Never!
Someone who truly cared about him wouldnât leave so easily.
Heâd been successful all his life. He never failed, but now he was being played by a young girl.
âTheo, I actually wanted to ask you for a favor.â
Theo raised an eyebrow. âWhat is it?â lady gaga Med 240 After listening, Theo found it was not a big deal.
He gave a nonchalant nod. âIâll have Jonah Wyton help you find more people.â
Theo picked up his coffee and took a sip. His expression was cold, as if his mind was elsewhere.
