This is my very first time writing something supernatural. So please comment and let me know what you think of itð¥¹

I pushed between the sea of bodies. They were moving their bodies to the rhythm of a song I'd never heard before.
But of course, I didn't. We were having a new DJ and his music taste was completely different from the last one. It was still techno music, but it had a different vibe to it.
It was more euphoric and it drove them crazy.
Not me though. I was used to it. I've been working here for the past four years. As soon as I turned eighteen, this was my job and it stayed till now.
Everyone was surprised that a human worked here. This club was filled with vampires.
Yes, vampires. Fangs, red eyes, and everything.
This town was their den. The oldest vampire family was founded here. Their ruler was here and he was the one who owned this club. He actually owned the whole city but anyways.
When I was fourteen years old the family started to appear more and more and they completely took over everything. We, humans, were like newcomers and nothing more than filth on their polished brandy shoes. They were rich. And when I say rich I mean they swam in money. They threw it around like it was dust.
And if you ask me how they make the money, I have no idea.
It was one of the mysteries I still have not figured out. One of the other mysteries is how I was still able to work here.
I started with this job on the behalf of my father. He was the one who made a truce with the one and only, Heliox. I don't know what kind of deal they had but I was allowed to work.
No a lot of humans were.
They were mostly homeless or if they worked it was in the vampire's homes. And another mystery. I don't know what they worked in their homes. Also, I didn't even want to know.
I was just here to work and not investigate. I like my life and was not going to be reckless and risk it for some piece of information that might not even be of any help.
So what if I knew what they worked? It was not going to change a damn thing.
I felt their stares and I felt their instincts to grab me and suck the life out of me. But they were not allowed.
The leader Heliox had a special request that I was not to be touched by anyone. And everyone knew about it.
I always felt how bloodthirsty they were each time I passed next to them or just when I was doing my job.
I was working as a bartender. A job that paid enough for a human like me. It was not just blood they drank but also drugs. And no it was not alcohol but a specific drink they had which I've never tried before, and also I won't. Ever.
I see what it does to them. It turns them into hollow bodies for a few hours. It doesn't have the same effect as the blood but it does the job of occupying their minds till they find a poor human to hunt on.
There were not many humans left. A lot of them are dead or dying. Few might have escaped but that was rare. It rarely happened that people would escape this place.
We were half of the population in this city which I would consider a small amount compared to a few years back.
"I want the new DJ," Wayle said as soon as i reached the bar. I smoothed my black t-shirt and wiped my hands off my jeans. It was our significant look.
Black T-shirt with the club's logo on and just regular black jeans. My dark hair was down and I had done my makeup today with thin eyeliner and nude lips. My light brown eyes stood out from everyone else and my skin tone as well. I was not as pale as them.
"Have you seen him?" She questioned and wiped the counter clean.
"No, I still haven't." He was supposed arrive today and I didn't have time to meet him. It's not like he would be interested in meeting me though.
"He's smoking hot. We have to meet him." Wayle was your biggest flirt and I can say that she was hella good at it. With her platinum blond hair and glowing red eyes, she hypnotized most of these fellas here.
"I'm sure he'll be glad to meet you though," I said to her with a smirk and she winked, knowing I was right.
"Also I have another news." She came closer to me and I felt her fangs appear. She has told me countless of times how much it affects them being this close to me. But they were holding themselves back which I was thankful for.
Even getting a small paper cut here was like walking into a sharks mouth. Deadly.
"What news?" I asked curiously. My eyebrows lifted, my head turning her way.
"It's happening the next year." She almost whispered the sentence like not wanting anyone else to hear.
I was confused even more now. What was happening next year?
"What?" I yelled close to her ear. The music was too loud for my liking.
"Elex is taking over his dad's throne." At the mention of his name, my body stilled. He was the only son of Heliox. His only heir.
"It's next year? Really?" So it meant that he was going to be three hundred years old.
"The second day of spring." She informed me further. That was exactly in one year. I didn't know that it was happening this soon.
Because he was the only son of the royal family, he was taking the throne without any objections. There was nothing stopping him from doing so. Not a brother, not a sister.
I knew Elex very well. He was a constant costumer here. The first time he visited since I started working, he came directly to me, saying that he wanted to meet the human who was allowed to be here.
I can admit that Elex was like a magnet. He pulled everyone's attention to him. With the way he moved, with the way he looked, the way he talked. He hypnotized everyone around him.
Maybe it was the royal blood in him, but Elex was mesmerizing.
We continued talking and Wayle talked about the new DJ and her plans on seducing him. I love hearing her talk because she always had fun and adventurous stories.
I served drink after drink and each vampire would analyze me like I was some creature they were first time seeing.
I was getting tired of it.
It was two hours into my shift when I noticed everyone whispering in each other's ears and the music changing its tempo.
The green lights were flickering everywhere and the sea of bodies started to separate. They moved on each side and then I realized why.
Elex was here.
His strong and dark aura made them cower in their places. Their figures shifted in more bowing positions. Their future leader was here.
The first thing I noticed was that Elex was making his way over to the bar. His hands were in the pockets of his black slacks. His posture was straight and his head held high.
His black hair was combed back. A few strands fell over his forehead. His torso was covered with a black expensive shirt and the first few buttons were popped free.
Elex had black eyes. He didn't have the average red glowing ones but rather pitch-black ones that made him even more intimidating. He was tall and his neck was covered with a wings tattoo.
They were bat wings and they looked like a dragon on his neck.
I always admired his body and I cannot lie that Elex looked gorgeous.
With slow but confident steps, he got closer and closer to the bar. His eyes never living mine.
When he stood directly in front of me, his velvety and alluring voice reached my ears.
"Hello, little bird." That that nickname. Just because my name was Cersei, which meant bird, he chose that nickname for me.
"Welcome, Elex." I spoke back not lowering my head.
Me and Elex knew each other very well. It was not just the bar meetings but meetings in secret and without anyone knowing. We also shared couple of kisses here and there.
Kisses that I sometimes regret.
He smiled, showing off his fangs. Winking at me, he ordered a drink. Just a regular non-drug cocktail. I made him the drink and placed it in front of him.
It was irritating how his eyes never left mine. Why was he staring? Did he wanted everyone to be suspicious over us?
But I'm sure he didn't really care. He was going to be throned next year after all.
He drank it in one go and slammed the glass on the counter. Licking his lips, he ranked his gaze over my body and I shifted in my place.
His eyes send electricity through my body.
He popped his elbows on the wooden counter and ranked his fingers through his dark as-night hair.
"Meet me in my office in five minutes, little bird." He said and pushed himself off and turned around. Leaving me speechless.
What did he want? And why would he call me to his office?
I ranked my eyes around me to see if anyone noticed our interaction. Everyone seemed to mind their own business. I'm just going to pretend that no one saw this.
I fanned my face and asked Wayle if she could take over my place for a few minutes. She agreed and I made my way over to his office.
If was on the second floor and away from the crowd. There was no one in the hallway and when I reached the door, my heartbeat increased.
I was nervous. I mean who wouldn't be in my place?
Before I could knock, I heard his voice. "Enter." I rolled my eyes and pushed the door. Of course, he knows that I'm here.
I opened the door wider and saw him leaning against the desk. His hands folded in front of him. The muscles bulged through his shirt. His legs were crossed at the ankles and his eyes instantly found mine.
"Close the door."
I stepped inside fully and pushed the door closed behind me. My hands stayed behind my back and my body froze in place from the way he was staring at me.
"Why did you call me here?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "I just wanted some alone time with you."
I nodded, ignoring the way my body reacted to him. To his closeness. I know he felt each one of my movements and heard each breath and heartbeat.
"So you're being throned next year." It was more of a statement than a question.
His eyes darkened even more, if that was possible.
"Yes." It was a very simple answer.
"You found the dark blood?" For the heir to be throned they had to drink of a person who is a dark blood. And those people were rare. It was only one in the world.
When that one died, the other one was born. It was never two at a time.
As much as the vampires were powerful, they needed a human just so they could continue their royal family. If the heir didn't drink the blood they were losing their powers and in less than three years they were going to die.
If the royal family died then the vampires were without a leader.
And a nation without its right leader was chaos.
But looking for dark blood was difficult. And I wonder if they already found the person.
When I was little I heard different stories of dark blood running away from the vampires and trying to escape.
Once the dark blood was found and the time of the throning was happening, they were bound to die. The ritual that took place on the day of coronation was too much for the human body and the dark blood would die as a sacrifice.
"Yes, we have." That was interesting. I wonder who it was.
"And you know this person?" I jokingly asked.
"I do." His jaw clenched and his demeanor changed. I uncomfortably shifted in my place. What happened to him?
"And who it is?"
He waited for a few seconds, his silence creating panic in me. Is it someone I know?
"Who is it Elex?" I spoke again and this time I stepped close to him.
"Tell me!"
I waited and pushed on his chest. What was he hiding from me?
What if it was someone from my family?
"It's you." He spat the words like they were venom on his tongue. My heart stopped for a second and I stared into his endless black eyes.
I didn't move.
I couldn't.
This couldn't happen.
There was no way that I was dark blood.
It has to be a joke that he's playing just to piss me off. I looked over his face just to find a fraction of emotion that would tell me that this was one of his pranks.
There was none.
The only emotion I picked up was frustration and sadness.
"What are you talking about, Elex?"
He didn't say anything. Not moving a muscle. "So you're telling me that in one year I will die?"
"No, you won't." A sarcastic laugh left my lips. Was he being for real? He just dropped the bomb on me and now he's saying that I won't die?
"I'm not going to die? If what you're telling me it's true, that I'm dark blood than I'm already dead, Elex." I spoke louder than usual.
My heart clenched in my chest. The pain was racing through my body.
"You won't die, little bird. I won't let that happen." He proceeded to lift his lips in a smile.
I was so confused right now.
I placed a hand over my forehead and stepped back. My mind was not being able to process what was happening.
So the deal between my dad and his dad was... did my dad know of this?
"Did my father knew of me being... dark blood?" My voice cracked. He wouldn't do this.
"No, he doesn't know. My dad was the only one. That's why you were able to live peacefully and have a job. It was already destined for you to be the sacrifice." He continued.
"But I won't let that happen." He pushed himself off of the table, unfolding his hands.
"Then what's going to happen?" Tears started to well up in my eyes.
"I'll die." He said it so simply like it was another normal sentence.
I tilted my head to really look at him. There was again a smile on his face. A smile that was filled with pain.
"I'll help you get away from here. You'll have a new identity and a new life."
There was no way he was actually saying this.
"You'll be free my little bird." He stepped closer to me. His cold body was next to mine.
A tear escaped my eye and fell down my cheek. My hands were fisted next to me and my body shook from the way I was holding my tears. But I couldn't anymore.
"One of us has to die and that will be me." My chin trembled at his words. Why was he so calm about this?
"But..." he cupped my face. Wiping the tears with his thumbs.
"Shh. I've leaved for so many years, now it's time for you to live." A sob left my lips.
No. This couldn't be happening.
"Do you know how much it means to me that I'll have a year with you till it all happens? A year that is nothing to vampires in's entirety to me because I'll be able to spend it with you."
He leaned his forehead over mine.
"Please, Elex don't say that." My breaths hitched with each word. My hands took hold of his and I looked at his eyes again.
"It's okay. You'll find someone in the future. Someone who's going to give you the love I couldn't." But what he was giving me was enough.
Even though I knew what we had was not going to make at least I was sure that he was going to be around.
As much as I tried to deny my feelings, my heart always betrayed me. Every time I was around him it beat just for him. Every time I thought of him it felt like it was going to burst out of my chest.
"There has to be a way our of this."
"Don't worry. Okay? Just let me deal with this." But i couldn't.
Not when I knew how he was going to deal with this.
"Not everyone is meant to have a happy ending little bird. But why should we wait for the ending when we could be happy now?" He raised his eyebrows with a small smile on his beautiful face.
"Let's just make the best of the time we have right now. What do you say to that?" He took my hand and placed a light kiss on my palm.
"Come here." He opened his hands for a hug and I didn't waste a second. I jumped into his arms and buried my face into his neck.
I cried. I cried so much that my body felt like it was going to collapse.
Elex held me closer to him and he caressed my hair and back. He whispered sweet words to me and kissed my temple.
I pulled away and cupped his face. Before he could say anything, I smashed my lips on his. Not caring about anything at the moment. I just wanted to feel him. To feel his lips, his cold touch, and his breath on my lips.
Our tongues collided with one another and his fingers got tangled in my hair. Pulling and holding. Mine went over his neck and I opened my mouth wider. I wanted all of his moans and whimpers.
Our mouths moved in sync and I felt our tears brush our skin. His on my face and mine on his.
I wanted this. I wanted this forever. But I don't think I'll have it.
A sob broke through my lips and Elex pulled away placing kisses on my cheeks and stroking my hair.
He lifted me in his arms and walked over to the armchair. He sat down and held me on his lap.
He pushed the hair off my face and grinned at me. The smile not reaching his eyes filled with tears.
"Now my little bird. Tell me about your day."
