Chapter 01: And So The Day Begins
"We have to alter schools today; we have a new mission ordered!" Yena runs beside me in the empty hallway.
"New mission?? It's only been a day since we finished ours here!"
We were sent to numerous places to help matchmaker others; When the time ran out, we had to move along toward our new mission of love.
The more missions we did, the more power we amassed.
"Should we leave now?" I ask, looking around.
"Yes, let's go catalog our papers!" She drags me toward the principal room.
Our new mission came with slight to no hints; It was solely up to us how he dealt with it, but we did have regulations as following:
1. We could not fall in love with our clients; it was restricted. We even fall in love with anyone in the celestial domain until we are 19.
2. We couldn't strive to separate the matches that are made for any justification.
3. If we ceased to function our mission, we would lose quantities of our powers. Eventually, we would recede if we flopped too many times.
4. We couldn't let the clients know we were march makers nor our missions. The love must happen naturally.
It seemed like easy rules; not frequently many girls seemed to break them. Me and Yena, I have completed ten missions together; we didn't fail any; yet.
"What do you ladies need today?" The principal perked up from his desk.
"We'd like to notify you we are both transferring tomorrow; we would like to fill out the papers," Yena recited. She mostly did all the talking for me.
"Ah, I'm sad to hear that; I'll inform the office of this; you may go ahead and report there." He smiled.
"I'm delighted about our new mission." She smiles as we walked toward the office.
"You girls are who's transferring. I'll need you to return your school IDs and fill this out. Any books you have, please return to the library." She slides us the clipboards.
We settled down and filled out the paperwork, and it was a common question.
I signed my name, elucidating I was transferring out. "Are you finished?" I asked Yena beside me.
"Just a second, Done." She signs off.
We returned the clipboards along with the IDs and returned to our house to pack.
"You girls are transferring today. It's been fun to have; if you have any trouble, remember to ring me on your Celeup." Mrs. Lee was our mentor. She was a higher-ranking matchmaker who houses us while we did our mission here.
On our next mission, we were able to be on our own because we attained enough power. Oh, and if you're marveling, a "celeup" is the device we use to contact other celestial realm beings.
We can only regulate it; it also would ping the clients at any time.
"The bus is here! let's go!" Yena motioned toward me.
"We're going to Seoul?" I asked.
"Yes, It's a nice city~ We're gonna have lots of fun!" She rolls the window down, the breeze seeping through our hair. It was the familiar spring breeze, the flower smell reverberating in the air.
"It smells nice today," I added.
"Be careful you might-" unexpectedly I sneezed.
"Sneeze..you should be careful of your allergies!" She hands me a tissue from her purse.
I've always had awful allergies to dust or pollen, so much that it often made me miss class. Even if we are celestial beings, we had our drawbacks too.
Yena's flaw was being too volatile; she would cry every if she saw a cute bug.
As we rode away, I felt my eyes become heavy; I decided to take a well-deserved rest. I needed my power for later.
"We arrived." The driver's voice spoke, my eyes shot open. I looked outside the window to see the apartment building we would stay inside. It was a tall building, and it looked like a high class.
"Yena, this is it?" I ask in awe; she nods.
"Woah, we're really treating ourselves now!" I laughed, stepping outside the car.
"It was a little costly, but I saved up, plus miss helped pay our rent for the whole school year!" She high fives me.
"Thank you for assisting us; here's a tip." She hands the drive a $100 bill. His face lit up in shock.
"Wait for a second, isn't this the apartment? why are their two different numbers in the keys?." I explained mine.
"We get our own this time~" she sang, winking at me.
My own space finally? Am I dreaming? I pinched myself, but nothing happened.
"I'll go set my things up; when you're done, let's go enroll!"
I walked inside the new apartment; the floor was wooden, which was great for the spring/summer time because it got so hot outside.
The kitchen was medium-sized, with a nice stainless steel fridge. I walked over to the bedroom door, opening it; my jaw dropped.
A KING-SIZE BED?!
I ran over toward the bed, dissipating my body across it. I could get used to this. In the last home, I used a twin-sized bed which was hard.
I could fit three other people with me! Not that I would, though.
I didn't lay for too long because I needed to sort my things; I picked myself up off the bed and walked out to my boxes.
When I finished setting up, I stepped back, looking at my new layout. Successful!
I grabbed my face in excitement.
A knock at my door interrupted my thoughts, and I waltzed over, unlocking it to be faced with Yena.
"Are you done?"
"Of course, would you like to see?" She laughed, stepping inside.
"Wow, You read too many designer books; it looks good, though!" She walks around the room.
Oh, hey, we need to go enroll now before the days over!" She grabs my arm, rushing me out.
"Hello, How can I help you?" The desk lady asks.
"We moved from Busan; We'd like to enroll," Yena speaks; the lady reaches behind her desk, searching through it.
"Please fill these out; then we will issue your temporary ID." She handed us the papers.
"This is your Momentary ID; until we take your photos, you will use this for your lunch." She hands us plain white cards with barcodes affixed to them.
"You'll start your first day tomorrow; we'll give your uniforms to you now; please wait while I ring the other office." She picks up the phone, dialing a number.
"Please go down the auditorium to office 3 for your uniform fittings." She motions.
"Are you excited?" Yena asks.
"I am, but I'm also nervous!"
"Why?"
"I just don't like confronting new people." I shrugged as we approached the door.
As we entered, a student was already standing there talking to the other office lady.
"Oh, hi! you two must be new; let's take you back to be fitted." The lady speaks up; the boy turns around, looking.
My heart felt like it halted for a few seconds; his hair was dyed a silver color; his eyes looked exactly like the others in the celestial realm; everything about him looked intimate.
Suddenly my watch started beeping, and I panicked, looking down; I quickly turned the alarm off.
"Let's go!" Yena grabs my arm, pulling me along; my feet felt they wanted to stay; My eyes caught him as I passed.
My watch beeped, that means. He's one of the clients.
I just needed to uncover the other...
