Abel was on his way to pick up Havencrest Internationalâs Dylan He grabbed the car keys and walked past Alana.
âAbel!â
Abel had already left the office with long strides.
It was already four oâclock in the afternoon when Abel received Dylan.
âEmma couldnât make it. Abel shook hands with Dylan warmly. âTâm sorry about that.â
Dylan adjusted his glasses and smiled. âMs. Louise already called me earlier. She sounds like she caught a cold.â
Abel didnât know what to say. Actually, she was sniffling because she cried.
âI wanted to learn more about the World Trade Building, Dylan said. âSince Ms. Louise isnât feeling well, I didnât ask her.
âEmma has informed Mr. Chester, Abel said. âYou will meet with the people from there tomorrow.â
âGreat!â Dylan continued, âToday, Iâll familiarize myself with Aliney and see which hotel is suitable for arranging a conference with over five hundred people.â
Abel drove the car and took Dylan around the city and the development zone.
Finally, Dylan chose the Hallaway Hotel in the development zone.
It was a fiveâstar hotel with a panoramic elevator.
The circular conference room could accommodate about a thousand people.
Organizers of large conferences or performances in the city would usually choose this venue as well.
Returning to the city. Abel took Dylan to the hotel they booked for him.
âMr. Carson, you can rest for a bit, Abel said. Tll come to pick you up in an hour, and well go have pasta for dinner.
âMr. Ryker, please donât stand on ceremony,â Dylan said. âYouâre busy too, so Iâll handle dinner myself!â
Abel had originally planned to accompany Dylan for dinner and then go back home.
However, Dylan didnât need him, so he could just go home now and be with Emmeline.
Without Emmeline by his side, his heart was always in turmoil.
Back at Ryker Group, the quality inspection department submitted a report on a batch of completed orders in Gringham.
All relevant personnel had already signed and confirmed the report, and Abel signed it as well after checking it.
This report could now be packed and sent with the goods.
After the staff left. Abel called Emmeline.
The phone connected, and Emmelineâs hoarse voice came from the other end. âAbel.â
Abelâs heart tightened. âAre you okay, Emma? Why is your voice hoarse?â
âI forgot to drink water this afternoon, Emmeline said softly. âI was busy preparing for the training.
Brandon had asked her to try teaching a marketing management class for the employees of the World Trade Building.
Actually, she didnât dare tell Abel that her mother scolded her father harshly again.
After Emmeline calmed her mother down, her throat was hoarse from crying-
Abel said, âEmma, donât work so hard. Lesson planning takes more than just a day or two. Iâm not by your side, so take care of yourself.â
âIâm fine.â Emmeline smiled lightly, feeling warm and fuzzy hearing Abelâs words.
âIâll be back soon. Abel continued. âWhat do you want to eat? Iâll buy it and bring it back.â
âMr. Carson is here. Emmeline frowned. âHow could you just leave him alone? You should have a meal with him!
âIâve already arranged a hotel for him. Abel furrowed his brows. âIâm worried about you!â
âI told you Iâm fine!â Emmeline pouted. âTake care of Mr. Carson. Thatâs the most important thing right now.â
âAlright, alright! Iâll listen to you, okay?â Abel knew he couldnât argue with her. She had a point.
âThen Iâll accompany him to finish the meal, and then Iâll come home to you. Thatâs fine, right?â
âOf course!â Emmeline grumbled playfully, âI also want you to come back soon!â
She only felt at ease and secure with Abel by her side.
After hanging up the phone, Abel took his car keys and went out.
He saw Alana standing at the door with a desolate expression.
Secing Abel, she spoke with a hoarse voice. âAbel, can I follow you?â
âIâve already said no!â Abelâs handsome face remained calm.
âToday is my birthday.â Alana seemed like she was about to cry. âDonât leave me alone, please?â
Abelâs heart softened. He had experienced this feeling when he was young too.
âAbel. I mean, Mr. Ryker⦠Alana looked at Abel pitifully. âPlease?â
âIâm going to take the client to eat pasta.â Abel nodded. âYou can come alongâ
âThank you, Abel! I mean, thank you, Mr. Ryker!â Alanaâs eyes lit up, and she almost jumped for joy.
It was the first time Alana sat in Abelâs Buick Regal, but she tactfully sat in the back seat.
After parking the car in front of the hotel, Abel called Dylan.
After about ten minutes, Dylan, dressed in a suit, came down.
The three of them arrived at Altneyâs famous street of specialty cuisine.
Passing by a flower shop. Alana bought herself a bouquet of red roses with a heartâshaped card that said âHappy Birthdayâ on it.
