Chapter 13: The Mall

Falling for the BadboyWords: 8641

I can't believe I went along with this. Ok, I get that I may need some new clothes, and Catherine wanted to go shopping, but why did I have to wear these clothes.

A white off the shoulder long sleeve shirt, black and white high waist skirt, white thigh high socks, and black Uggs. Nothing is wrong with the outfit, but I think it's a little too much just for shopping.

Sighing, I leaned back staring out the window. Folding my arms, I glanced back at Catherine, and she had a big smile on her face.

Finally pulling into the mall's parking lot, I sat there for a moment.

"Well come on now."

She then got out the car, and I slowly followed behind her. The mall wasn't that busy for a Saturday. Catherine then clapped her hands, and turned to me.

"Ok, let's meet back here in two hours."

"Yeah..."

She then skipped away, and I stood there for a second debating what to do now. Yeah I was giving money to shop, but I didn't feel like a real shopping mood.

Walking around, I found myself in Hot Topic. Looking through the clothes, I found a couple of shirts that I liked. One was a black shirt with I tolerate you with a white heart around it. The second one was a blue tye dye shirt with the superman logo on it. The last one was a white shirt that said this shirt gives me life.

The best part was that they were on sale, buy two get one free. Looking around for a few, I was looking through some hoodies, when one caught my eye. It was a white hoodie with black wings on the back, looking at the price. It was 14.87, deciding to get it too, I went to the counter. If I stay in here any longer, I'd end up spending more than I should.

"Did you find everything fine?"

"Yes."

"That will be 37.10."

Pulling out my wallet, I gave her the cash, and waited for my change. When I got my stuff, I went out the store with a smile on my face. If I could, I'd rather go home now, I don't have anything else that I want. I wonder where Catherine is at now, and I sighed walking around for a while.

I soon found myself at the food court sitting down beside myself. Letting out a sigh, I was bored as hell, and I stared down at the table. When I lifted up my head, there was this guy sitting in front of me now. I stared at him for a good minute, um... ok. He then lifted his head from his phone, and stared at me.

"Melissa, right?"

"Um... yeah."

"Oh good, do you remember me, I'm Zach's friend."

Staring at his shocked, he cocked his head to the side. Taking a good look at him, he was tan with deep brown eyes. His blonde hair fell to his neck, and he had a curious expression on.

I never really paid attention to Zach's friends.

"I see."

"My name is Derek. Sorry about just popping up, Zach was taking forever in the store."

"It's Ok."

"So Melissa, you by yourself?"

" No I'm with my cousin, but we went seperate ways."

"What a coincidence of meeting here."

"I guess."

He got quiet, and I glanced at the table. I feel so awkward talking to other guys. Zach is Ok, but with others I just don't know what to say.

"Derek!!"

Turning my head, there was Zach. He had a bag hanging over his shoulder. Looking back at Derek, he leaned on his hand staring.

When Zach got to the table, he looked down at me. Blinking a few times, a smirk formed on his face.

"Stalking me now pretty girl."

"You wish."

He laughed, before sitting down beside me. Throwing his arm around my shoulder, I rolled my eyes at him. Looking back at Derek, he was smirking at us.

"And here I thought you were shy."

My eyes widen, and he chuckled standing up.

"Well I'm going to join the others in the arcade room. Have fun you two."

He left, and I was kind of confused what that mean. Letting out a sigh, I turned looking at Zach. He was staring down at his phone.

"Zach."

"Hmm, where have you been?"

Its been five days since his birthday, and he hasn't been to school since. He glanced down at me, before smirking.

"Did you miss me?"

The same Zach, and I pinched his side for him to flinch back, and give me a dirty look. Giving him a smirk, and he removed his arm from around me. He sighed leaning on the table, and I stared at him. Moving my hand, I ran it through his hair, and he closed his eyes.

"So what did you get?"

"Just some shirts, and pants."

His hair was really curly today, and I wrapped my finger around a curl. My hand was then grabbed, and Zach lifted his head staring at me.

"You here by yourself, pretty girl?"

"No I'm with my cousin."

"That crazy one from school?"

Laughing, I gave him a nod, and he let my hand go. Standing up, he stared at me for a moment, before holding out his hand.

"Hang with me for a while."

Staring at his hand for a moment, I smiled getting up taking his hand. He twinned our hands, and I stared down at it for a moment, before he started pulling me with him. His hand was warm, and I held my bag in one hand. Staring down at our twinned hands, I don't know why, but this didn't feel weird at all. It actually felt really nice, and I held his hand a little tighter.

We really didn't go anywhere specific, but that was fine. Just going to different stores and looking around. He bought a few more things, but there really wasn't anything I wanted or needed. We then stopped at the arcade room, and went inside. There was a few people here, and he led me around to a group of people. Looking at them, I then saw Derek with... Catherine. My eyes widen, and Zach let my hang go, but wrapped it around my waist.

I noticed a few girls was staring at us, and I lowered my head. Pressing myself a little further into his side, I felt him lead me somewhere, and I glanced up. We were standing against the wall, and I looked up at him, to see him frowning at something. Looking at what he was looking at, there was a girl standing with two other guys. She was pretty, long brown hair, deep brown eyes, dimples, and she was skinny. For some reason I felt like kind of self confident, and I glanced down.

Zach's hold on me tightened, and I lifted my head to see that pretty girl was coming over toward us. He then jerked me closer to his side, and I glanced up at him to see he had a pissed off look on his face. I suddenly felt kind of uneasy at the moment, and she stopped right in front of us. Staring at her, she folded her arms, and smirked at me, before looking at Zach.

"Hmm, I guess you really do like to break the innocent."

Zach's grip on me was almost painful, and I touched his hand that was around me. His grip loosen slightly, and I glanced from her to him.

"What do you even want Alice?"

"To make you hurt just like I did."

She was glaring at him now, and for some reason I felt like something bad was about to happen. When Zach's arm slipped from around me, I turned to him. His blue eyes were cold and wild, it sort of scared me, and I touched his arm. He however didn't look at me, his eyes was planted on this girl.

"Zach!!"

Derek then appeared out of nowhere, and grabbed Zach's arm.

"Let's go outside man."

As Derek pulled Zach away, I turned to follow when my arm was then grabbed. Look behind me, the girl was staring at me.

"You look like a good girl, so I'll warn you. It's best not to get close to him, or fall in love with him, because that will only get you hurt."

"Um..."

"Zach is someone who is unable to love anyone seriously."

Staring at her, I don't know why, but my chest ached.

"Melissa."

Turning my head, Catherine was standing at the door. Looking back at the girl, she let go, and I went over to Catherine. She grabbed my wrist pulling me out of there, and I could see irritation playing on her face.

"Listen Melissa, whatever that girl told you don't believe it. She's no good and always lies, it's best you stay away from her."

I didn't say anything until she stopped and let my hand go. Looking at her, she was staring at something ahead of her, and I peeped around her. There was Derek and Zach, and Zach had this blank look on his face. Sighing, I moved around Catherine and walked toward me. Standing a few inches, Zach turned staring at me, before walking over to me. When he stood in front of me, I reached out, and took his hands. He stared at me shocked for a moment, before a soft smile formed on his face.

"Sorry about that."

"It's ok."

"Well we got to head out, I'll call you later."

"MKay."

Letting go, he glanced past me and waved. Turning, he and Derek left, and I turned looking back at Catherine. She had an expressionless expression on her face, and she walked to me.

"If you really do like him, then you should only believe what he shows you."

Staring at her confused, she walked past me, and I slowly followed behind her. She's right though, I want to believe what Zach say more than what others say.
