Chapter 156

James had a complicated feeling about the baby, he was not sure what to feel about this little one. Sure enough the baby was innocent amidst all of this mess, but then this baby was the beginning of Aiden’s downfall, James stared at the baby’s sleeping face. “No. He is sleeping, I don’t want to wake him up.” He then excused himself.

On the other hand, Ruby didn’t insist further, she simply stood there, staring at James’ back. He was a good alpha, but unfortunately, he was blessed with a woman like luna Jasmine and a son like Aiden.

For a long time, Ruby just stood there, until James’s figure disappeared and then she walked toward Aiden’s bedroom, where luna Jasmine was still crying, trying to persuade Aiden to get to his sense.

The sight of her was so pitiful. Her precious son surely would be the death of her.

However, Ruby simply didn’t care about this mother and son pair. She came here to inform Aiden that alpha Roman wanted to see him in private.

“Why he wanted to see him?” Luna Jasmine narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

“I don’t know.” Ruby shrugged her shoulders. “I was only told to deliver this message to him.” Her voice and tone were very nonchalant, but the two of them didn’t notice this in this situation, after all they were too preoccupied with their own trouble.

“Who delivered the message?” luna Jasmine immediately stood up and smoothened her dress, she didn’t want to look bad, even in front of Ruby.

“The beta of their pack,” Ruby replied.

With that, luna Jasmine’s eyes lit up, she immediately turned around to face her son, who looked very pathetic. Ruby contemplated her feeling. The mate bond between them had weakened, but it didn’t mean, it had gone completely, thus she was still feeling bad for Aiden, even though she didn’t want to.

“Aiden, I think alpha Roman wanted to make a deal with you, you need to pay him a visit!” luna Jasmine was happy.

“He is not allowed to go out, luna Jasmine,” Ruby reminded her, which made luna Jasmine threw him a dagger look, because she was being corrected, after all, she hated it to look stu pid.

“I know!” luna Jasmine growled at her.

“I will leave,” Ruby said, she didn’t want to stay there longer. The two of them suffocated her. Now, she needed a way to survive and her plan just begun…

“They only act nicely in front of you, don’t think that you already welcomed in the pack,” Mira said, during their training session.

If there was one person, who didn’t change, it must be her, because since the beginning, he didn’t show any interest in Lilac and even now, she still treated her like a nuisance. Her words were very sharp too.

“I know,” Lilac replied curtly.

“Good.” Mira then went away to train the other women. She didn’t even say ‘congratulation’ for her ceremony.

Lilac was not sure what she had done so wrong to earn her wrath. She didn’t do anything, but it seemed, she hated her so much.

It wasn’t that Lilac didn’t know about the way people acted. She was well aware that their changed of attitude toward her was because of the ceremony, but behind her… Mira was right. A simple ceremony wouldn’t change their sentiment toward her.

“What are you talking about with her?” Raya asked, she approached Lilac, drinking her water. Her body was full of sweat, since she had been training from this early morning and now it was noon. Were they going to war? Why she was training so hard?

“Nothing,” Lilac said lightly.

“If there was nothing, your expression wouldn’t be like that.” Raya pointed it out.

“Like what?” Lilac furrowed her brows and Raya made an ugly face, which made her laughed. “I am not like that!”

“Of course, you are!” Raya laughed too.

The two of them were very close and Lilac was very comfortable with her, as if she was with Aria in the past when their relationship was still good.

Lilac was happy to have someone close to her again, because of Aria’s betrayal, she felt like she couldn’t trust anyone anymore, thankfully, Raya was here.

“What are you doing here? Let’s go to get your body some training, you can’t laze around just because you are the luna now,” Raya teased her.

Lilac smiled sheepishly. She wanted to share this news with someone. She was very happy and it was a great thing when someone was happy for you too. That was what in Lilac’s mind when she told Raya.

“I am pregnant,” Lilac whispered with cheerful voice. Her heart burst with happiness and the butterfly in her stomach fluttered their wings.

It had been so long since the last time she was very happy like this.

A mother.

That was what she would be in the next few months. She would carry a new life inside her, a new life that was a solid proof of the love Lilac had for Hunter and so did the other way around.

She was very excited for her life in the near future.

And a few days later, Lilac and Hunter went to Golden Claw pack for the trial.
