Chapter 48

The truth was; Aiden had never killed the previous alpha lycan. He didn’t even have a fierce fight against the alpha, because the moment he entered his tent, the alpha had died.

It was also the moment, where they managed to infiltrate the garrison of the lycan and he led his warriors deep into the heart of their based.

There were so many warriors died at that time and he thought he was going to die as well because the lycans were fighting like a madman, like a crazy beast.

The only thing that Aiden did was beheaded the alpha lycan’s head and brought it outside to show all the people that the other alpha had died and it stopped the war immediately, that was when Hunter stepped up to be the alpha of the lycan and suggested a truce.

However, no one should have known about it, no one should have known about that because he was the one, who found that dead alpha lycan’s b*dy, unless… it was the person, who had killed the previous alpha for real.

Unless it was the true murderer, there was no way anyone could tell…

But, Hunter could tell, was that meant…

Hunter smiled harmlessly at Aiden after what he whispered to his ear, there was this malice that glinted in his eyes, he looked so terrifying, even though he was smiling at this moment and for some reason, Aiden felt the fear ran down his spine. There was no way this man would know about that secret, unless…

However, before Aiden could react, or said something, Hunter had grabbed Lilac’s hand and took her away from there. His steps were light and he looked like he was in a good mood after he couldn’t catch Aiden himself and subjected him into a harsh punishment.

“What did you say to him?” Lilac asked in confusion, she glanced over her shoulders, but all she could see was Aiden was still in dumbstruck state, he was frowning deeply and stared at Hunter, he looked like he was in deep thought about something, but of course, Lilac couldn’t tell what was that.

Meanwhile, Ruby stared at her, but she couldn’t tell what was in her mind, neither she cared to find out what the other woman was thinking about her Lilac was going to leave this pack, there was nothing else matter now, Ruby could hate her all she wanted and she could have Aiden for herself. There was nothing that could hold Lilac back anymore, especially when luna Jasmine had announced Ruby had been marked and acknowledged her to be the future luna of the pack.

The luna must have felt betrayed by Lilac after what she said during the meeting about the right punishment for her.

“Stop staring at him.” Hunter moved slightly to cover Lilac’s sight from Aiden, het didn’t like it when this woman paid attention to someone else.

Lilac lifted her head and then shifted her attention toward Hunter. This man was very tall and she felt like she would break her neck if she stared at him in this position for so long.

“What did you say to him? Why he looks like he just saw a ghost?” Lilac frowned, she tried to steal a glance at Aiden one more time, but this time Hunter really blocked her line of sight toward him without being subtle about it.

“Stop staring at him.” He repeated the same thing again. “It’s only small thing.”

“There is no way he will be shock over small thing.” Lilac frowned because this alpha acted like a jerk now by cupping her face and forcing her to look in front of her. “Did you threaten him?”

That was the only thing that came to her mind.

“No.” Hunter was telling her the truth because he indeed didn’t threaten Aiden at all. “I only told him a little secret.

“What secret?” Lilac frowned her brows when she heard that. She leaned her b*dy. over toward Hunter, the gesture that she didn’t realize she used to do it whenever she was intrigued by something.

Yet, Hunter laughed at her curiosity and then cupped her face. “Let’s go. We need to go now.”

“No, tell me what secret?” Lilac was adamant, she wouldn’t be able to sleep and eat if her curiosity was not fulfilled, especially on this one, what did he say?

“If I told you, it will no longer be a secret anymore,” Hunter said. “I didn’t tell you because it’s secret.”

“What is that mean? You can share it with me.”

“You don’t want to share a k*ss with me, why should I share a secret with you? You are my woman after all, I should be able to do anything with you.” Hunter’s eyes ghated mischievously when he saw the way Lilac blushed.

“I don’t understand what you meant with that. That’s ridiculous. I am not your woman.” Lilac then be quiet, she didn’t talk about it anymore, but he knew her curiosity would get the better of her and she would ask again the same question sooner or later.

Despite she was still curious and thought she couldn’t eat and sleep properly, but in truth, Lilac fell asleep almost immediately the moment he entered the carriage that would take her to her new home, if she could call that place home at all.

She was exhausted after a long day and what happened. She was sleep soundly, until she didn’t realize Hunter had been staring at her sleeping face the entire journey, his eyes were hard to read and his expression didn’t change. He looked a little bit somber at one second and glad at the other second.

“Lilac…” he whispered her name and crept closer toward her, very gently he leaned his b*dy over and pressed his l*ps against her cheek. “Sweet Lilac… I finally found you.”
