Chapter 1416
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Warren thought, âIs she pretending to be asleep to avoid embarrassment or she just doesnât want to see my faceâ
Warren felt the smell of her body floating under his nose, making him feel strange as if his heart was sinking in the deep. His whole body seemed to stiff.
Amelia was right by his side. But he became confused. He didnât know what to do with her.
Warren thought, âDo I still love her?
If I really canât stop loving her and being attracted to her, what should I do?
Are we really doomed to divorce? Should I make another choice?â
In the darkness, Warren slowly turned over and fixed his eyes on Ameliaâs face.
The room was dim so he could only vaguely make out the outline of her face but it was enough to give him complicated emotions.
Warren found out that even a faint outline of her face was like a dream come true for him!
On Wednesday, Hanna packed up the things that she needed to visit her parentsâ tombs and then walked downstairs with a big bag. Calvin was already waiting in his car downstairs.
Seeing her coming out, Calvin opened the door, took the bag from her, and put it in the back seat. Then he opened the door of the front passenger.
They got into the car. Calvin drove toward the cemetery where Hannaâs parentâs tombs were located.
Hanna murmured, âThank you for being with me today.â
Calvin said, âI also want to be there.â
âThey would be happy to see you, too. Hanna said, âEven if we donât end up together, my parents would be happy that I had such a great boyfriend.â
Calvin frowned slightly. Somehow, when he heard Hanna say, âEven if we donât end up togetherâ, he found her voice harsh.
Calvin asked, âDo you think we will break up in the future?â
Hanna was silent. Although she wanted to take a chance and make Calvin fall in love with her, she knew deep down that the chance of winning was slim.
Hanna knew Calvin had strong feelings for someone else. She doubted whether she could make him forget that person and fall in love with her.
Hanna thought that even if there was a person who could achieve that, it would not be her.
But Hannaâs love for Calvin grew stronger and stronger so she couldnât help but want to make this beautiful dream last a bit longer. At least, they were real boyfriends and girlfriends now. They were really dating, not just acting so.
Seeing that Hanna was silent, Calvin clamped his thin lips together and said, âHanna, is that how much you love me?â
Hanna blinked. âHuh?â
The red light at the intersection was on and cars stopped in front of the pedestrian crossing. Calvin turned around to Hanna and said, âThe more you love someone, the more you want to stay with him for the rest of your time. But you donât seem to have that kind of determination with me. So, you donât have much love for me, right?â
Hanna said hurriedly, blushing, âNo, itâs not like that. I⦠I love you. I love you deeply!â
Hanna thought, âGod, what did I say?â
Calvin said, âYou love me deeply but you donât believe that we will be with each other forever?!â
Hanna bit her lips hard. She didnât know how to answer Calvinâs question.
The red light was off and the green light was on. The car continued to drive forward.
There was a long silence inside the car along the way.
Hanna lowered her head. Calvin didnât know what she was thinking.
They arrived at the parking lot at the entrance of the cemetery. Calvin parked the car. Hanna suddenly said, âI⦠I just thought that the possibility that you fell in love with me was too low. Even if you will fall in love with someone, it wonât be me. So Iâ¦â
Hanna couldnât continue. She thought she was inferior to him.
Hanna thought Calvin was far better than her, whether in terms of appearance or family background.
They seemed to be from completely two different worlds.
Calvin looked at the person in front of him quietly. After a while, he unfastened the seat belt and leaned over Hanna slightly. He raised up her chin with his slender fingers, âWhy are you so unsure of yourself?â
Hanna whispered, âIâ¦â
âYouâd better remember what I am going to tell you.â Calvin said slowly, âYou are the first person who made me determined to try to fall in love with someone. If I fall in love with someone again, I think itâll be most likely you.â
Hanna was stunned. She wasnât prepared for what Calvin just said.
Calvin withdrew his hand and said lightly, âOkay. Letâs get out of the car.â After that, Calvin got out of the car first and picked up Hannaâs bag in the back seat.
After a while, Hanna came back to her senses and got out of the car.
When Hanna walked to Calvin, she couldnât help but stare at him in a daze.
Calvin asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Hanna plucked up the courage to say, âThe person that you will most likely fall in love with is me?! Do you mean it?â
Calvin said, âDo you think I will let anyone be my girlfriend?â
Hanna shook her head quickly. Calvin felt his mood a bit better seeing Hannaâs adorable face.
âLetâs go.â Calvin said, âAfter you. I donât know how the way.â
Hanna calmed down and took Calvin to her parentsâ tombs.
Calvin looked at the photos of a couple in their thirties on the tombstone.
Calvin knew that Hanna was still a little girl when her parents passed away. They died young.
Hanna squatted down, placed the food and wine, and then ordered candles.
Hanna said, âDad, Mom, Iâm here again. This is my boyfriend, Calvin. He is a very nice person.â
Hanna bowed to the tombs. At the same time, she prayed silently in her mind, âMom, Dad, if your spiritual power really exists, please help us and keep Calvin away from any danger.â
After that, Hanna stood aside. Then Calvin walked forward and bowed to the tombs too.
There were not many people in Strico who could make him bow.
Calvin said, âMr. and Mrs. Zimmerman, I will take care of Hanna. Donât worry.â Calvin decided that he would always do his best to protect Hanna even if he broke up with Hanna one day.
After that, they just stood quietly in front of the tombs.
The breeze on the mountain blew slowly and was delightful.
It was not a special day or weekend so there were few people in the cemetery. Calvin looked around and saw no one else.
Hanna looked at Calvinâs clothes. He was wearing a white top, a pair of black trousers, and black shoes. The simple black and white style. They showed off his perfect figure, making him look restrained and refreshing.
