Livianaâs POV
I donât know how long Iâve been here in the spirit realm.
There isnât actually any day or night.
I donât sleep or eat either.
I donât exactly feel exhausted or hungry.
I have been training all those times.
The moon goddess gaveme powers.
Elemental powers to be exact.
Fire.
Water.
Land.
Air.
I have mastered them quite well.
I had all the time right now anyway.
âLiviana, how are you holding up?â Amaris suddenly appeared.
âFine. How are you?â I asked caressing Amarisâ fur.
âIâm fineâ she lied.
Sheâs been keeping up this front of her.
I think we both were.
We still havenât accepted the trust just yet.
Amaris might have already given up.
But I havenât.
I still look forward to the day of meeting Luan again.
And going back to him.
Despite everything.
I still hope and pray that he and I will be the end game.
That maybe this is just a test from the moon goddess.
âIâll go for a runâ Amaris told me.
I nodded.
âGo ahead. Iâll keep training for a whileâ I said and she gave me a nod then left.
I stood there in a clearing as I looked around.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
I gathered the energy within me as I summoned my powers.
First, I summoned fire.
I felt the heat all over my body as I opened my eyes.
Fire was coming out of my hands.
I raised my hand as I looked at the red flame emitting from my hands.
Then, I quickly turned them into blue ones.
âBeautifulâ I muttered.
I took another deep breath as the fire spread all throughout my whole body.
I didnât feel pain.
I wasnât burning to death either.
In fact, I felt powerful.
Like the flame I was making was part of me.
I turned to face the targets placed meters away from me.
I focused on them and shot balls of fire from my hands to the targets.
Bullseye.
I repeated it multiple times until I felt satisfied of my work.
Then, I riled back the energy I have deep within me and the fire diminished around me.
âYouâre doing a great jobâ
I turned to see the moon goddess as she made her way to me.
âThank youâ I simply said.
âHow are you feeling? You havenât really taken a rest after I gave you your powersâ she said.
âIâm feeling just fine, moon goddess. Itâs not like I even get tired hereâ I said with a chuckle.
âThatâs true. But rest isnât only needed for your physical being. Iâm talking about emotional and mental rest, Liviana. Iâm not pressuring you to quickly learn like thisâ she told me.
I sighed.
âI know, moon goddess. But this is my restâ I said.
The moon goddess.
âThen, fine. Do as you pleaseâ she said and gave me a small smile.
I gave a small bow to her and then she left.
I heaved a deep sigh as I looked up.
The sky still looked beautiful.
But why do I feel so sick of it?
I mean, itâs the same sky Iâve been looking at since my time here so what did I expect.
I am unable to keep track of the day or the time.
Iâm alive but not living.
I donât even know whatâs going on in the real world while Iâm here.
I wanted to go back but I couldnât.
I didnât have the ability to.
I atleast wanted to know what was happening in the real world but the moon goddess nor my mother refused to fulfill my request.
They said it was best for my well being that I remained unaware of the real world while Iâm here.
I knew they were right.
But I still couldnât help but feel this way.
I feelâ¦empty.
And helpless.
I sighed.
Instead of sulking, I continued on with my training.
I closed my eyes once more as I channeled the power of land.
I raised my arms to the side as I started to feel vines wrapping around my body.
I opened my eyes and my body was already quickly wrapped around in vines.
I took a deep breath and controlled the ground as it shook beneath my feet.
Then, roots and rocks came bursting out of the ground as it built a strong wall circling me in protection.
I breathed out as my eyes glowed bright gold.
I let the vines surrounding my body to transfer to the roots and wall and strengthen the walls.
Then, I hoisted myself up using the air and I stayed mid-air as I looked down the walls Iâve built.
It would come in handy in time.
But I think Iâd want it to be stronger.
To the point that it will be impenetrable.
That no one can harm whoever is inside.
I let the vines, roots and rocks go back to their normal form and I slowly lowered myself to the ground.
I heaved a deep sigh.
âIâll need more practiceâ I muttered to myself.
After that, I decided to go by the river.
There, I sat by the platform as I controlled the water with my hands.
I watched as the water made a graceful show before my eyes.
Oh how beautiful it was.
âLivianaâ
I turned to look and saw my mom coming towards me.
âHiâ I greeted her with a smile.
My mom smiled as she gave me a peck on my forehead.
âHow have you been doing?â she asked.
Although we were both in the spirit realm, there are times that we couldnât see each other as often as we wanted.
She was busy with her duties here and I was busy with my training.
Despite all of that though, I have become even closer to her during this challenging time.
I have gotten to spend more time with her and know of her life here in the spirit realm.
That was one of the few reasons why I feel thankful for being here.
âIâve been better but Iâm doing quite well, mom. How about you?â I asked her.
âOh just the usualâ she said with a chuckle as she sat beside me.
âDonât you ever get tired?â I asked her.
Mom looked at me.
âI mean mentally and emotionally. Youâve been here almost all my life and almost half of yours. Donât you ever get sick of it?â I asked her.
Mom gave me a sad smile.
âOf course, I doâ she answered honestly as he turned to look at the water.
âBut seeing and knowing youâre doing well is what keeps me saneâ she said as shw glanced at me with a smile.
âYouâre the reason I can do all of this, Livianaâ she continued.
I smiled as I reached out for her hand.
âThank you, momâ I said making her smile.
A genuine smile this time.
âYouâre my daughter. My whole life. Always remember that, okay?â mom said as she cupped my face.
I smiled and nodded.
âI love you, momâ I told her as we hugged.
âI love you more, sweetieâ she said and kissed the top of my head.
We stayed like that for a while.
Until I decided to speak.
âDonât you ever want to go back, mom?â I suddenly asked her.
Mom looked at me again.
âDonât you ever want to ask the moon goddess to bring you back to the real world? I mean, you arenât exactly dead, right?â I said.
Mom tucked in alose strand of hair behind my ear as she looked at me straight in the eyes.
âI donât think I can. Iâm not in any place to ask for such a big favor like that from the moon goddess. Itâs not like she owes me anything. In fact, itâs the other way aroundâ she said with a forced chuckle.
âYou gave birth to me, didnât you? Isnât that enough reason?â I said.
Mom chuckled then smiled lightly.
âHave you forgotten that she saved my life that day? I also made a choice that day thatâs why Iâm here nowâ she said.
I bit my lower l*p.
âBut do you ever want to go back?â I asked her.
Mom gave me a small smile.
âIâd do anything to go back, Liviana. Anythingâ she said.
I held momâs hand and slightly squeezed it.
I smiled slightly at her.
âJust be patient a while longer, momâ I told her as we looked at each other.
After that, mom had to do something important again.
I was left alone by the river once more.
I stood up and stepped on the water.
The water was cold beneath my feet.
I looked up the sky.
âI want to go backâ I muttered.
Thenâ¦.I sank.
I went straight in the water beneath my feet.
It was as if it was pulling me down and I struggled to swim afloat.
In the end, I failed and I sank deeper in the water.
I couldnât breathe.
Whatâs happening?
I shut my eyes and focus on gathering my energy.
But I couldnât feel anything.
âMamaâ
I opened my eyes.
I was still deep in the water.
I could only see darkness.
âMamaâ
It was a voice of a child.
So soft.
So warm.
âMamaâ
I moved my head frantically to search for it but didnât anyone else in the water.
But the sound seemed so close.
Yet, I couldnât reach it.
âMamaâ
I closed my eyes tightly again.
Where is it coming from.
I need toâ¦find it.
Whoever it was.
Just like that, I opened my eyes again and I gasped as I jolt awake.
