Liviana’s POV

“Luke!” I called for Luke.

I can see him from the palace as he played by the garden with Dillon, our pet dog.

Luke turned to look my way.

“Come back and eat lunch first!” I said.

Luke made his way back to me and hugged me.

“Mommy!” he said with a giggle.

I smiled.

“Let’s go eat lunch together, okay?” I said.

Luke nodded and held my hand while Dillon stayed by his side.

I looked at Luke as he walked beside me.

He has grown a lot for the past year.

Luke turned 2 about 2 months ago.

He’s an active little one, I’ll tell you that.

“Mommy, when is uncle Rainer coming back?” Luke asked curiously.

I looked at him and gave him a small smile.

“Soon” I said.

Luke pouted.

“When is soon?” he kept asking.

I chuckled.

“Very soon, buddy” I just said.

Luke sighed.

“Do you miss him that badly?” I asked him.

Luke nodded vigorously.

“I really miss uncle Rainer. Dillon and I have no one else to play with except him” he said.

I chuckled.

“Your uncle Rainer is not your personal mate, Luke. He’s the head warrior of Halo, okay? He’s busy too” I explained.

Rainer pouted.

“Uncle Rainer said he’ll always make time fir me no matter what. He also said it doesn’t matter whether he’s head warrior of Halo or not. I will always be his priority” he said as he raised his head confidently.

I laughed.

Oh Rainer.

What have you been telling my son?

“Still, Luke. You have to understand that your uncle Rainer has important responsibilities like mommy does” I kept explaining to him.

Rainer pouted and sighed.

“Okay, mommy” he said.

I smiled and kissed Luke on the cheek.

“You can always play with the other pups, right? We can always invite them over as you wish” I said.

I don’t let Luke go anywhere too far away from the palace except when he’s with me or Rainer.

That’s the only way I can be assured of his safety.

I could never risk getting him into a dangerous situation.

I won’t be able to take it.

Not Luke.

Not my son.

I’ll go mad if anything bad happens to him.

That’s why I keep him as close as possible.

Luke and I reached the dining hall and the helpers prepared food for the both of us.

“Mommy, where’s uncle Rainer?” Luke asked curiously as I put his bib on him.

He’s never going to stop asking about Rainer.

This kid has attachment issues.

I should probably get him away from Rainer…nah.

Rainer and Luke are almost inseparable.

Actually, Rainer, Luke and I are pretty much inseparable.

“He’s on a mission, buddy” I said and finished putting on his bib.

“What mission, mommy?” he asked further.

“A very important mission in a very far away place” I told him.

“Where is it, mommy?” he kept asking.

I slightly pinched Luke’s cheek.

“It’s very far away place from here” I said again.

“Now, eat up so you can continue playing later” I said to change the subject.

Luke nodded with a smile.

Dillon was eating below him.

Dillon was a gift to Luke from Rainer on his 2nd birthday.

Ever since Rainer gave Dillon as a gift to Luke, they haven’t separated much.

Dillon and Luke had a connection.

Also, Dillon keeps Luke occupied when Rainer and I are busy with our responsibilities.

It was a good idea to give him a dog.

Dillon is also very loyal.

He doesn’t leave Luke’s side and he doesn’t let Luke get into too much trouble.

Rainer told me that he trained Dillon for almost year just for Luke.

It was very thoughtful of him.

Luke and I had our lunch peacefully.

Then, I asked one of the guards to ask some of the pup’s parents to let their kids go to the palace for a play date tomorrow with Luke.

After that, Luke and I went back outside.

Luke held my hand as he swayed them excitedly.

We got out and Luke immediately ran to the playground.

Yes, the playground.

The playground was something that grandpa had built for Luke after his first birthday.

There’s also a new tree house by the side of the palace which is grandpa’s gift to Luke for his second birthday.

As for grandma, she bought Luke a ton of new toys for his first birthday.

Then, she bought a few kid’s rechargeable ride on car for Luke.

Not just one but 5 cars.

She said it’s because she can’t give Luke a real car yet so she bought him those instead.

Luke is spoiled.

Very spoiled.

But my son isn’t a brat.

That’s a relief.

He still listens to me well.

But he does run to his grandparents, to Kaley and Rainer when I say no to something he wants.

That’s why I always explain to him why I say no.

He needs to understand that he can’t get everything he wants easily.

I didn’t want him to grow up like a spoiled brat.

After all, he’s next in line for the throne.

“Luke, mommy is going back to the office” I said.

Luke ran to me and I caught him in my arms for a hug.

“Goodluck, mommy” he said sweetly and kissed me on the cheek.

I smiled.

“Thank you, buddy. Can you promise me you’ll behave while I’m working?” I asked.

Luke nodded.

“Of course, mommy. I promise” he said.

I chuckled and gave him a k**s before putting him down.

I turned to look at the guards looking after Luke.

“Please look after my son while I work” I said.

They nodded.

“Of course, your majesty” they said.

I gave Luke one last k**s on the top of his head and I went back inside to my office.

I continued working on some papers anf setting aside community concerns for me to address soon.

I’d need to make a trip outside after Rainer comes back since I can’t bring Luke with me and I can’t leave him without.

Rainer needs to come back first before I can leave the palace premises.

I kept on working on the papers for a while.

Then, there was a knock on the door.

A guard peaked inside.

“Your majesty, Captain Rainer and his men are back” he said.

I nodded and immediately stood up.

He’s back.

I made my way out quickly to welcome Rainer and the other warriors.

I reached outside and I immediately saw the men making their way back.

“Uncle Rainer!” Luke suddenly appeared beside me running.

“Mommy, uncle Rainer is back!” he said excitedly.

I nodded with a smile.

“Go on” I told him.

Luke smiled and started running towards Rainer with Dillon following him.

Rainer caught Luke in his arms as he held him.

I made my way to them.

“How are you, buddy?” Rainer said pinching Luke’s nose.

“I missed you, uncle Rainer” Luke said hugging Rainer.

Rainer smiled.

“I missed you too, Luke” he said.

Rainer turned to look at me.

“Hey” I greeted him.

“Hi” he greeted back with a soft smile.

“Welcome back” I said.

Rainer smiled and went closer.

Then, he pulled me to him and hugged me with Luke between us.

Luke giggled between us.

Then, we stepped back a little.

Rainer caressed my hair.

“How are you?” he asked softly.

“I’m fine. We’re fine. How about you?” I asked and checked his body.

Rainer chuckled.

“I’m fine. We all are” he assured me.

I sighed in relief.

I turned to look at the others.

“Are you all okay?” I asked.

“Yes, your majesty” they said.

I smiled.

“Please visit the palace with your family tomorrow night for dinner. It’s just a little thank you gesture after doing your mission” I invited them.

They smiled and bowed their heads.

“Thank you, your majesty” they said.

I smiled and gave them a nod.

“Let’s go inside. I definitely need to shower” Rainer said and held me by the waist to guide me back inside.

I waved goodbye to the others as we made our way back inside the palace.

Rainer looked a little rough.

He grew some facial hair over the week that he was gone.

They must’ve been really busy.

“Have you eaten?” I asked him.

Rainer shook his head.

“I’ll ask the helpers to cook you some food. You can go on ahead in your room with Luke. I’ll go there after I ask the helpers to cook you food” I said.

Rainer nodded and let me go.

I made my way to the kitchen and asked the helpers to make some food for Rainer.

After, I went to Rainer’s room.

I entered the room and saw Luke playing with some toys on the carpet.

Rainer must be in the shower.

“Buddy, come here” I said to Luke as I sat on the bed.

Luke stood up and got on the bed and onto my lap.

Luke played with his toys as we waited for Rainer to finish.

After a while, Rainer got out of the bathroom.

He only had a towel on his waist and another on hi head while he was topless.

He was also freshly shaved.

It wasn’t a new scene.

I’ve been living with Rainer for more than a year and this is not the first time that I’ve seen him fresh out of the shower.

And it’s not like being seen naked is new to us.

We’re werewolves, after all.

“Are you here because you missed me or because you want me to report to you immediately” he asked with a chuckle.

“I’m here to make sure you’re fine, dummy” I said and playfully rolled my eyes.

Rainer laughed.

I looked away when he took out his clothes.

“Are you sure about that?” he asked.

I slightly pouted still looking away.

“Of course. I do care, you know?” I said.

“I know” he said.

“Luke and I are leaving so you can rest” I told him.

Rainer didn’t answer.

Then, I felt him get on the bed so I turned to look at him.

Rainer took Luke on my lap.

“Stay a while longer. I missed the both of you while I was away” Rainer said and smiled at me.

“I know” I said.

Rainer chuckled and smiled.

Then, there was silence.

Rainer looked at me seriously.

It seemed like he wanted to tell me something but can was contemplating on it.

“What is it?” I asked him.

Rainer sighed and put Luke beside him as he continued to play with his toys.

Then, he pulled me to him and hugged me.

“What’s wrong?” I asked worried.

“He’s been crowned. Your mate has been crowned” he whispered.

I froze.

Luan…has been crowned.
