Livianaâs POV
âLet me know when you get to the palace. And when youâre leaving for Halo. And when you arrive at Haloâ I told Rainer.
Rainer chuckled.
âI willâ he said.
âDonât forgetâ I said again.
Rainer nodded.
âI wonâtâ he said and pulled me in for a hug.
âDonât cause any trouble while Iâm goneâ he told me.
I slightly pouted.
âI wonâtâ I denied.
âTake care. Iâll be back as soon as I canâ he said and planted a k**s on the top of my head.
I nodded.
Then, I waved Rainer goodbye as he went to the car and drove off.
Suddenly, someone cleared their throat and I turned around to look.
Pa, Edmond and El stood their with their arms crossed in front of their chest.
âWhat?â I asked innocently.
âWhat was that about?â Pa asked with a raised brow.
âWhat was what about?â I said.
Pa frowned at me.
âWho is he exactly to you, Livi?â Edmond asked next.
âHeâs Rainer. Heâs the head warrior of Halo. Heâs also the one who saved my life and looked after me all these yearsâ I said.
âWe asked who HE is to YOU? Like, is he your boyfriend? Second chance mate? Your love interest?â El said.
âHeâs my friend. A really close oneâ I answered.
They glanced at each other.
âIâll stop hereâ Pa said.
âGet some more rest, sweetheartâ Pa said and gave me a k**s on my temple.
I nodded.
âMe tooâ Edmond said in defeat and waved me goodbye.
El stayed as he gave me a judging look.
âI need a proper explanationâ he said.
I rolled my eyes and walked pass him.
El followed me.
âYou guys were too lovey dovey that it hurt my eyes. Thereâs something going on between the both of you and I want to know what it isâ he said as he followed me.
âThereâs no thing going on, El. Rainer is a really good friend of mine whoâs been there for me all these years while I was goneâ I told him.
âYou canât fool me, Livi. I saw the way he looks at you and I watched the way you act around him. He loves you and even if you donât feel the same way about him, I still think that he means a lot to youâ he stated.
I gave him a look.
âWhat gave you that impression?â I said.
âYou might have disappeared for 3 years but I still know you well, Livi. We grew up together after allâ he said.
We reached my room and El still followed me inside.
El sat on my bedside while I stood up looking at him with crossed arms in front of my chest.
âLetâs say that what you said was true. So what about it?â I said.
El gave me a look.
âHave you just moved on from Luan?â he suddenly said.
It caught me a little off guard.
I sighed.
âNo, El. No one else will ever make me feel the way Luan didâ I said.
El sighed in relief.
âThank the goddessâ he said.
I rolled my eyes at him with a chuckle.
âWhy do you even ask me these things?â I asked him.
âBecause I was worried about how you were acting around that Rainer guy. I thought youâ¦already forgot about Luan after what happenedâ he said with a sigh.
âIâd never forget about Luan, El. Not even after what happenedâ I told him.
El smiled.
âIâm glad. Anyway, havenât you met him?â he asked curiously.
I sighed.
âItâs a long story. Iâll explain later to everyone. Itâs an even more complicated situationâ I said.
El looked at me with a raised brow.
âSo thereâs more shocking things that you need to tell us?â he asked.
I nodded.
El pursed his lips.
âIâm sure that nothing is more shocking than the fact that youâre still alive but okayâ he said.
I chuckled.
âWait till later and tell me if you still feel the same wayâ I told him.
El furrowed his brows at me.
I laughed.
âNow, get out. I want to sleep a little longerâ I said pulling El out of my bed and pushing him out my room.
âWhat time are you planning on waking up? I donât think I can wait too long to know about your other shocking news?â El asked.
I rolled my eyes.
âDonât you have a life, El? Seriously?â I said chuckling.
El looked at me.
âI donât really have much of a life so Iâd rather know yoursâ he said with a shrug.
I chuckled.
âGo away. Weâll talk again after I get my well deserved restâ I said.
El chuckled and nodded.
âTalk to you again soon, Liviâ he said and I smiled at him before closing the door.
I went back to bed to rest.
Then, I barely slept.
I turned to my side and looked beside my bed.
I suddenly remembered Luan laying there.
Every day was perfect waking up beside him.
I never appreciated it as much as I do now because I know now how it feels like when I lost that.
I just wish that I could bring it all back.
I only got a few more hours of sleep until I woke up and decided to just go on with my day.
I took a shower ang got dressed.
Luckily, none of my things were touched amd were well maintained so I still had everything I needed while I stayed in Crescent Moon.
I went down and saw Ellie playing with Lizi in the living room.
Just like that, another memory of Luan popped up in my head.
The way Iâd come down to see Luan playing with Ellie then.
Iâm sure heâd be thrilled to play with Luke.
âHi, Livi!â Ellie greeted when she saw me.
âHey, beautifulâ I said and gave her a k**s on her forehead.
Ellie giggled and gave me a k**s on the cheek.
âLiviâ Lizi said and tried to stand up to go to me.
I picked her up and carried her in my arms.
âHi, cutieâ I said and gave her a k**s on the cheek.
Lizi giggled.
I smiled.
âYouâre awakeâ Theresa peaked out of the kitchen.
âGood morning, Theresaâ I greeted her.
Theresa smiled.
âGood morning, Liviâ she greeted me back.
âAre you hungry?â she asked.
I nodded.
âGood thing I made your favoriteâ she said.
I smiled and went to the kitchen carrying Lizi and holding Ellieâs hands.
Then, I saw Madeline in the kitchen as well.
âGood morning, Madelineâ I greeted her.
âGood morning, Liviâ she greeted me back with a smile.
I smiled and sat by the dining table with Ellie beside me and Lizi on my lap.
âAnd what do you little girls want?â Theresa asked Ellie and Lizi as she served me my food.
âCookies, mamaâ Ellie said batting her lashes at her mom.
Theresa chuckled and nodded.
âThanks, Theresaâ I told her.
âYouâre welcome, Liviâ she said smiling at me.
Theresa got Ellie and Lizi some cookies and we started eating.
I couldnât help but remember Luan again.
How we would eat together in this table together.
After that, Ellie, Lizi and I played together.
Looking at them, I started to miss Luke more.
I wonder how heâs doing.
I wonder if heâs getting enough sleep.
I wonder if heâs looking for me.
I sighed.
I badly want to see my son again.
After a while, Ellie and Lizi napped.
I went out of the pack house and headed to the woods to take a walk.
I was so distracted that I found myself by the lake.
The same lake where Luan I used to meet.
The lake where we almost met for the first time.
The lake that we had dinner in for our first date.
Suddenly, I felt something on my face and I touched it.
I bit my lower l*p as I looked up at the sky to stop myself from crying.
Ghad.
I wish Luan was here.
I wish I could tell him everything that has happened for the past 3 years.
And I wish he could tell me what has happened to him as well for the past 3 years.
I miss him so much.
I have so many things to tell him.
I huffed in frustration.
I really need to snap out of it.
I should understand that Luan needs space after all that he found out.
âCrest?â
I turned around to look and saw Tyler Howl.
Heâs eyes widened when I turned around to look at him.
I immediately wiped my tears away.
âI must be going crazy. This canât be true. Iâm probably seeing thingsâ I heard Howl say.
I turned to look at him again.
He was holding his head and slapping himself.
My brows furrowed at him and I gave him a strange look.
âWhatâs wrong with you?â I said giving Howl a judgemental look.
Howl looked at me again wide eyed.
âY-youâre talking to m-me?â he stuttered in shock.
âObviouslyâ I said rolling my eyes.
Howl stared at me wide eyed.
â I thoughtâ¦they saidâ¦.weâ¦.Crest?â Howl said confused.
I chuckled.
âLong time no see, Howlâ I said with a slight smile.
Howlâs mouth gaped open.
After that, we went back to Crescent Moonâs pack house together.
He asked so many questions on the way back.
I answered half of his questions.
And I told him to shut up and mind his own business with the other half.
Everyone was already waiting for me since I still needed to tell them some important things.
Now, Howl was going to be there too.
âYou were in Halo? In another territory? All this time? Thatâs why we couldnât find you anywhereâ Howl said as we arrived by the pack house.
âYes, Howl. How hard is it to understand that?â I said.
âI donât know, Crest. Itâs just so common to happen, you knowâ he said with a hint of mockery.
I rolled my eyes.
I looked at the entrance of the pack house as I took a deep breath.
My time for reminiscing my precious memories in the past is done.
Now, I need to face the present and explain the cruel past.
