Luanâs POV
âUncle? Since when did you have a bloody uncle who is a hunter?!â I said. Liviana sighed.
âObviously since the moment I was also took in by the father that I know but for the record, I only found out todayâ she shrugged. My brows furrowed.
âAlso, heâs half werewolfâ she pointed out.
âWhat?â I said confused.
âIâm not repeating myselfâ she frowned then plopped down her swivel chair.
âBy the way, what are you doing here again anyway?â she asked with a brow raised at me.
âI sensed something was off so I cameâ I said.
As days pass by being around each other, our mate bond is starting to grow but we still feel distant because Liviana refuses to be marked.
Both my wolf and I are extremely frustrated by this and Iâm sure Livianaâs wolf is too.
Sheâs the only one resisting the pull.
âI donât like him. Will he be around much longer?â I asked her. She crossed her arms in front of her chest.
âI donât think heâs very fond of you either but I think we all know that in order to be around me, you both have to be civilized around each otherâ she stated.
I hate that sheâs right.
âHow is he your uncle?â I asked instead.
âHeâs my father Dimitriâs half brotherâ she said.
âHow do you know he really isâ I said raising my brow.
âI just doâ she said making my eyebrows furrow.
âHe might be lyingâ I said.
âI think I have excellent judgment skills. Also, with all the unexpected things happening lately, Iâm not even questioning it anymore. The goddess has definitely taken a liking to me and made my life a living drama for her enjoymentâ she sighed and massaged her temple.
I walked closer to her and leaned on her table just beside her and turned the swivel chair to face me. She looked up to me.
âHow are you holding up?â I asked her concerned. She sighed then leaned her head on my body. I was a little taken aback because she was never one to show affection.
âGive me just a minute, Luan. Just a minuteâ she muttered as she closed her eyes. I caressed her hair.
We can stay like this forever and I wouldnât mind.
I love this woman so much but I know she doesnât feel the same way.
Itâs frustrating.
Liviana sighed and pulled back.
I wanted her to be close to me longer but I already know how she is.
âDo you have any more agenda here? If not, I would appreciate it if you leave. I badly need a napâ she said and yawned. She mustâve really been tired.
âI can come with youâ I said. She raised a brow at me.
âCome where?â she said.
âTo bedâ I said. She scoffed.
âI can sleep on my own, thank you very muchâ she said with a frown.
âIt will be soothing to sleep together. You can recharge faster being around me because of the mate bondâ I suggested.
âIâm not sleeping with youâ she said coughing as she blushed.
âWhoâs sleeping with who?â a cold voice said and we both turned to look by the door only to see the man from earlier who is the brother of Livianaâs foster father.
âNo oneâ Liviana coughed and looked away embarrassed.
âGoodâ he said and I glared at him.
How dare him meddle with my mate and Iâs relationship.
âBe thankful that Liviana sees you as her family because if not, I wouldâve personally ripped your head offâ I hissed at him. He chuckled making my b***d boil.
âDonât think that I canât take you on, wolfie. I know that youâre both still unmarked so I can still kill you knowing that I wonât be breaking a bond. She can still meet other males out there who isnât youâ he hissed back.
I growled at him and he growled back.
Liviana sighed and got in between us again.
âCan you both please stop? I donât have the energy for this, reallyâ she said weakly. I look at her with concern.
âLetâs get you to bedâ I said and held Livianaâs hand. She pulled away.
âI can go to bed on my own. As for you, if you donât want to leave, atleast stick with El and donât cause any trouble or try to kill each other. Whichever comes firstâ she said looking at me then at her âuncleâ.
Liviana walked out and El walked in.
âWhoâs killing who?â El asked. We ignored him and glared daggers at each other.
âYâall need to chill out. Also, Beta Edmond needs to talk you, Danteâ El butt in. The hunter sighed and nodded before giving me one last glare and leaving.
Once he was gone, El looked at me.
âYou do realize that he is Liviâs uncle, right?â he said. I sighed.
Iâm the only one who knows about Liviâs identity aside from his foster father.
âHeâs a hunterâ I said.
âStill, heâs her family. If it makes you feel any better, he is half werewolf. You donât need to get all worked up with himâ he explained. My brows furrowed.
âHalf werewolf?â I said. He nodded.
âYeah. Dope, right? Liviana told us the details through mind link earlierâ he shrugged.
Itâs a very rare case.
Iâve never met a half b***d. Let alone a half wolf and half hunter.
It simply doesnât make sense.
âWhat else do you know about him?â I asked.
âNot a lot. Just enough to ensure us that heâs not a threat to the packâ he said.
âHow are you so sure that heâs not a threat?â I said.
âLivi knows what sheâs doing. She wouldnât risk the safety of the pack and sheâd do everything in her power to protect everyone. We trust her more than anyoneâ he told me.
Liviana is more than just a good leader.
Sheâs an excellent one.
It makes me feel in love with her even more than I already am.
Sheâd make a wonderful Queen.
âDo you want to go with me to the training grounds? I doubt leaving is one of your options right nowâ he chuckled. I nodded.
We went out of the pack house and made our way to their training grounds.
Both young and of age wolves are training with whom I recall to as Alex, one of the warriors who fought alongside Livianaâs foster father when he went away.
This pack is the largest of the packs there is. To think that their Alpha is a young she-wolf.
My mate beat the odds.
Sheâs truly amazing.
I spot the hunter and Livianaâs uncle whose name is Dante. He is on the side with Edmond, my mateâs Beta and Elâs father.
He is thoroughly watching the wolves train.
âIâve heard that heâs also the most sought for hunter in Lunar. I wouldâve never thought that heâs Alpha Dimitriâs brother and Livianaâs uncle. Fate really has ways of messing with peopleâs livesâ he said. I agreed.
But what worries me most is the fact that the manâs sudden appearance in Livianaâs life seems odd.
Liviana didnât know his existence all her life. Yet, she accepted him so eagerly.
Also, why did he only come back now?
He must have had a purpose.
But what?
