Livianaâs POV
I stared at Dante for a moment still taking it all in.
Weâre currently in my office and Ellie is back home safely and taking a rest in her room. Thankfully, she wasnât harmed but I feared that she might be traumatized.
The poor little one.
I kept analyzing Danteâs features.
He really did resemble my father. Only Dante wasnât a werewolf. Atleast not fully.
Now that Iâm fully focused on him, I have realized that heâs only half werewolf b***d. I didnât even think it was possible.
Yet, here he is.
And even claiming to be my uncle.
âDone studying me now, Liviana? You havenât even formally welcomed your uncle yet. Thatâs not very nice. I guess Dimitri only taught you about being a strong leader but not a welcoming oneâ he chuckled. I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
âIâm still not totally convinced that youâre my fatherâs brotherâ I said with a blank expression.
âWell, no one wouldâve expected a hunter to be brothers with a werewolf now, right? Itâs quite the plot twist of the centuryâ he laughed then pulled out some things from his pocket.
It was a letter and 3 photographs.
One photograph was of 2 boys, the other was of him and my father during their young adult days and the last one was of me as a kid.
I opened the letter and sure enough, it was my fatherâs handwriting.
âHow?â I asked confused.
âWe had the same father. Dimitriâs mother, our fatherâs mate died giving birth to him and our father met my mother soon after. No one thought itâd be possible to conceive a child of both human and werewolf but I guess Iâm living proof that itâs possibleâ he explained.
âYouâre a hunterâ I pointed out.
âMy motherâs father was too and I became one myselfâ he said and I nodded in understanding.
âHow come you never came to meet me with my father? Not even onceâ I asked him.
âAnd put your life in danger? No, thank you. I was the most sought for hunter around, if they knew that I had a family, theyâll surely come after the both of youâ he shrugged.
âMy father couldâve at least told me you existed. Why didnât he?â I asked again.
âIt was better for you not to know about me and remain oblivious rather than know about me and get curiousâ he said.
âThen why are you suddenly showing up here?â I said raising a brow at him.
Dante stared straight into my eyes.
âBecause I know now who you truly areâ he said and it sent shivers down my spine.
âHow did you find out?â I asked in a low tone.
âDimitri told me recentlyâ he casually said and my eyes widened.
âYou met my fatherâ I said.
âI met them both, yesâ he said. My heart raced.
He knows where they are.
He knows where my family is.
âLiviana, no. The purpose of me coming here is to stop you from doing anything as stupid as searching for your fathersâ he warned. I clenched my fist.
âWhy are you all trying to stop me from saving my family?!â I hissed.
âLiviana, itâs more dangerous than you think. If they find out about your mere existence, they will stop at nothing to kill youâ he said. I banged on the table with a growl.
âIâd like to see them tryâ I challenged as my eyes glow gold.
I want my family back.
âYouâre being irrationalâ Dante stated earning a glare from me.
âIrattional?! Both the father who raised me and my biological father are being held captive to god knows where! Forgive me if I feel the need to save them because I fear that their life may be taken away soon!â I growled.
Dante sighed.
âLiviana, your life is more important than anyone elseâ he said.
âMy life is meaningless without my familyâ I mumbled. He sighed and lightly pulled me to him embracing me.
âHave a little faith, Liviana. Your fathers know what they got themselves into the day you were conceived and the day you were hid awayâ he said caressing my hair.
I finally broke down as I hugged Dante back.
Heâs not even related to me by b***d but now Iâm realizing how he does feel like family like how I felt for the one I considered my father.
âItâs hardâ I admitted as I sobbed.
âIt will get harder. But I will be here for you now. Iâm family too, Liviana. We are not b***d related but the moment Dimitri vowed to protect you like his own child, you became not only part of his family but mine. Youâre my precious nieceâ he said and I sobbed even more.
Itâs been a long time since I showed this kind of vulnerable side of mine. I usually had only shown it to my father.
Now, Iâm showing it to my uncle who is a bloody werewolf hunter.
The door burst open and we both turned to see a raged Luan by door.
As soon as Luan and Danteâs eyes met, they both growled at each other and Dante pushed me behind him in a protective manner.
Luanâs claws came out as his eyes glowed blue.
âStep away from her, you filthy hunter!â Luan growled.
âIâm not going anywhere! What is a royalty like you doing here?â Dante hissed at him as he kept his protective stance in front of me.
âThatâs none of your business! Now, I said step away from her before I rip your throat out!â Luan warned him. I lightly touched Danteâs shoulders.
âHeâs my mateâ I whispered to him. Dante turned to look at me wide eyed.
âHim?!â he exclaimed. I nodded.
Dante growled.
I stepped forward and got in between them before they pounced on one another.
âHeâs my uncleâ I told Luan and this time, his eyes widened in shock as well.
âI would appreciate it if you donât kill each other. Specially not inside my office or my pack territoryâ I said.
âDante, you can stay at my fatherâs room. He also has clothes there that will fit you. I recommend taking a restâ I told my uncle.
âIâm not leaving you with himâ he said pointing directly to Luan.
Luan snarled at him.
âIâll be fine. Heâs harmless. Atleast to meâ I assured him.
âOut of all the wolfâs the goddess can pair you up with, she chose himâ he said in disbelief then looked directly at Luan.
âJust to make it clear, I donât like you for my nieceâ he snapped at Luan before walking out.
Great.
More drama.
