Livianaâs POV
âPlease make yourself at homeâ I told Alfred and Evelyn as I showed them their temporary room in the pack house.
Edmond was still working on getting them their own house.
âThank you, PrinâAlphaâ Alfred said. I nodded.
âFeel free to approach me in my office upstairs if you have anything you needâ I told them and they nodded.
I went up to my office and started working.
I came back last night after Luan dropped me off and Alfred and Evelyn came in today.
Iâm glad they were very cooperative with moving in my pack immediately.
But then again, itâs for their safety.
There was a knock on the door and it was opened slowly.
âHeyâ El peeked in. I smiled a little.
âHi. Come inâ I told him. He went in closing the door behind him.
âYou look like shtâ he pointed out and I chuckle.
I wasnât able to sleep last night almost at all.
I kept thinking about my disagreement with Amaris and how I already have people who could possibly know where both my fathers are.
Still, I canât do anything.
âI still look better than you even without sleepâ I retorted. He laughed.
âWhat happened?â he asked.
I couldnât even tell him.
I couldnât even tell my pack.
I didnât know how to yet.
It wasnât a story that they would easily understand.
Also, if I do tell them, I could possibly put them in danger.
Iâm not risking that.
âBad nightâ I said. He chuckled.
âHowl was a bad date, wasnât he?â he said laughing. I nodded.
âThe worstâ I chuckled.
I still canât believe him.
âBy the way, who are the couple you brought?â he asked curiously.
âOld friends of Paâ I said.
It was all I could tell him or anyone else.
âWhereâs Ellie?â I changed the subject.
âSheâs probably outside playingâ he shrugged. I rolled my eyes at him.
âWhat a brother you areâ I said standing up and made my out my office and down to go outside while El followed me.
âIâm her brother. Not her bodyguard or nannyâ he defended.
We got out and my eyes wandered around to search for Ellie.
Then I saw a frantic looking Theresa.
My heart started to beat nervously.
Something is wrong.
I can feel it.
âTheresa!â I called out. She turned to look at me and tears started to form her eyes.
âMom, whereâs Ellie?â El asked seeing his motherâs expression.
âI-I donât know. They were playing hide and seek and IâAlpha, please help me find Ellieâ she burst out crying.
My breathing shallowed.
âLiviana, I donât feel Ellie anywhereâ Amaris told me.
I clenched my fist as I mind linked everyone of the situation.
I shifted in a snap and ran to the woods to track Ellie.
Her scent was faint and it became even fainter as I got further away.
Then my ears perked up as I smelt something in the air. A foreign yet familiar smell.
I sprinted to wear the scent was coming from and I stopped at my tracks when I saw a man in all black with Ellie in his arms with a coat covering her little body.
My eyes glowed gold and I growled.
âHush. You wouldnât want to wake up the pupâ he said casually. I snarled at him.
I examined him from head to foot then my I stared at his face. He resembled someone very dear to me for some reason.
Then it registered to me what he is.
A hunter.
I growled at him in warning but he only chuckled and gently put down Ellie on the ground. He then backed away from her and I rushed to Ellieâs side shielding her from the man.
I immediately mind linked everyone where we were.
The man started to unbutton his shirt and took it off revealing an huge scar to which I can only guess is from a werewolfâs claws.
âShift. Letâs talk and Iâll formally introduce myselfâ he said. I huffed.
I donât trust him.
But if he does try to do anything, I can still take him on my human form.
I shifted back to human form as he threw his shirt to me. His eyes never left mine and I cautiously wore his shirt.
âWho are you and what are you doing in my pack territory?â I said in my Alpha tone.
The man grinned a little.
âThe name is Danteâ he said with a smug smile. My brows furrowed.
âDimitri raised you well, little wolfâ he said and I clenched my fists at the mention of my father.
âI didnât know he was good enough to raise a mere pup. Yet, you seem like youâre doing quite wellâ he continued.
âHow do you know my father?â I almost growled.
âHow can I not know him? Heâsâ¦.â he paused.
âFamilyâ he said. I moved quickly holding him by the neck.
âDonât lie to me. If you were family, I wouldâve known. Iâm not stupid. Now, tell me who you really are unless you want me to rip your throat out for even touching my pack member because Iâm telling you I willâ I growled at him.
The man chuckled.
âI saved her. Yet, this is the thank you that Iâll get?â he said making my brows furrowed.
âWhat do you mean?â I snarled.
âRoguesâ he said.
âFocus, Livianaâ he told me and I growl at him as my eyes glow gold and I sniffed the air.
I smelled the faint scent of rogues mixed in with the scent of b***d that are meters away from us.
I let him go but still kept my guard.
âThat still doesnât explain why youâre here inside my packâs territoryâ I glared at him.
âWell, I was going to visitâ he shrugged. I raised a brow at him.
âI will ask you these one last time before I throw you out myself. Who are you and how do you know my father?â I said.
He stared into my eyes with a serious look.
âDante Crest, werewolf hunter and the younger half brother of Dimitri Crestâ he said and my eyes slightly widened.
âNice to finally meet you in person, my precious nieceâ he smirked.
This canât be.
