Livianaâs POV
*kriiing kriiing
I slowly opened up my eyes and pushed myself to sit up my bed.
I couldnât even sleep properly.
I looked out of the balcony then sighed before getting off my bed.
Why am I even acting like a miserable teenager?
I took a shower then got dressed into my school clothes.
I went down and grabbed an apple before sitting down the kitchen stool.
âGood morning, Alphaâ Theresa greeted me as she gave me a plate of food.
âGood morningâ I said and started eating breakfast knowing that if I didnât, Dante will pop out somewhere to make me eat.
I finished my food and was about to leave when Dante came in from the front door.
âGood morning, princess. Heading off to school?â he said with a smile as he planted a k**s on the top of my head.
âYeahâ I said.
âDo you want me to drop you off?â he asked. I shook my head.
âNo, thank you. Itâll be easier for me to bring my motorbike later so I can get here fasterâ I said. Dante nodded.
âBe careful on your way homeâ he said and I nodded before getting out and going on my motorbike.
I drove to school in my motorbike.
I arrived there just in time for my first class and immediately saw the twins.
âWhatâs up, Livi?â Abe greeted me with a smile. I gave him a small smile as I passed by and went to my seat.
I saw him talk to the girls who sat behind me and then the girls giggled then left to go to the other side of the room.
Then the twins sat behind me.
âSo, how are you?â Abe asked me.
âIâm doing just fine, Abeâ I told him. I wouldâve ignored him but since theyâre Luanâs cousins after all, I felt tge need to atleast respond to them.
âAre you sure? Luan doesnât seen like heâs fine though. We figured that you both got into an argument againâ he said and I turned to look at him.
âWhat do you mean?â I asked him with my brows furrowed.
âWell, he seems like something has been troubling him when he went back. We thought heâd be okay when you finally woke up and returned but he seems like he still has a lot on his mind latelyâ he explained. I sighed and our professor came in and the class started.
Would today be the right day to talk to him?
If what Abe said was true, then the conversation Iâm going to have with Luan will be even more difficult.
Iâd be adding to the things that are bothering him already.
âLetâs not do it anymore, Livianaâ Amaris spoke in my mind.
âNo, Amaris. If we donât do it today, we wonât be able to do it anytime soon. The sooner we talk to him, the betterâ I replied.
Thatâs right.
Iâm right.
Right?
âBut mate is already struggling, Livianaâ Amaris whined.
âI know. I know but weâre bound to do this anyway so we should just do it now. Itâs not like weâre leaving himâ I explained.
âBut, Liviana⦠I will miss mateâ Amaris whimpered. I sighed.
âPlease understand, Amaris. Itâs not easy for me too. But we badly need this. Itâs just for a little whileâ I told her. She whined and whimpered then our link was cut off and she completely shut me off.
I sighed again.
Iâm sorry, Amaris. We really need to do this.
Lunch came and I met up with Katie. I also saw Blake with his teammates and our eyes met but he quickly looked away.
He didnât bother come to us.
âWhatâs up with Blake? He clearly saw us so why isnât he coming here?â Katie asked confused.
I didnât answer for a moment.
âItâs probably because of meâ I said almost in a whisper.
âWhat? Why? Did you guys fight?â Katie asked worried. I shook my head.
âItâsâ¦itâs a long storyâ I said.
âIs it now?â she said and I nodded.
Katie stood up from her sit and grabbed me by the wrist then pulled me out of the cafeteria.
âWhere are we going?â I asked confused.
âOutâ she simply said.
âWhy?â I asked again.
âSo I can listen to your âlong story'â she said and then we made our way to the football field and to the bleachers where we sat down.
âOkay, spillâ Katie said as she stared at me waiting for me to talk.
I took a deep breath.
âYesterday, you both came over, right?â I started and she nodded.
âThen in the afternoon after we played with Ellie, Blake and I went somewhere without you and Elâ I said and she nodded again.
âYes, I know. You both disappeared without telling usâ she said with a pout and I slightly chuckled.
âWell, we went to the old tree house that we all used to play in when we were kidsâ I told her.
âOhhhâ she responded.
Now, for the difficult part.
âWell, when we were there, Blake and I talkedâ¦â I said pausing. Katie raised a brow at me.
I took a deep breath.
âBlake confessed to me through a poem he wrote, Katieâ I finally said. Katie just stared at me for a moment.
âHe finally confessed to you huhâ she suddenly said.
âYou knew? Did he tell you?â I asked a little surprised. She nodded.
âHe never told me, Livi. I figured it out myself. I know my brother like the back of my hand. Also, he was very obvious with his feelings for you. Itâs amazing how you never noticed itâ she said with a shrug. My mouth gaped open.
âWhat?â I asked baffled.
âLivi, it was so obvious that Blake likes you. Loves you even. I guess you were either just really preoccupied with your responsibilities or youâre just extremely densed. Either way, I donât blame you because my brother is stupid for not telling you directly how he feelsâ she said. I just sat there in silence.
Was I that clueless?
âWhat else happened?â she asked. I bit my lower l*p and sighed.
âHe asked me to give him a chance and made me pick between him and Luanâ I said remembering that moment.
âWhat?!â Katie shouted and her brows furrowed.
âThat i***t! How can he make you choose between something like that. Our parents clearly told us how important mates are to you guys. I know that he loves you but this is so pathetic of himâ Katie huffed and massaged her temple in frustration.
âI understand how he feels about you and add up the fact that heâs felt it for a very long time considering that we spent our childhood together. But Blake was wrong for making you choose between him and your mateâ she said as she calmed herself down.
âWhen we first found out about you being a werewolf, we immediately talked to our parents about it and asked more questions than I can remember about your kindâ she told me.
âThey told us everything they knew about the mate bond witg werewolves. Personally, I found it really wholesome. I mean you guys have that one person who is literally the other half of your soul. I thought it was already very clear to both of us how important a mate bond is to your kind. I guess Blake had his own opinion about the matterâ Katie sighed.
âIâm so sorry, Livi. Iâll talk to Blake when I can. He shouldnât have put you in such a positionâ Katie said pulling me in for a hug. I hugged her back as I seeked comfort and support from her.
Iâm glad I was able to tell her about the situation and Iâm even more thankful that she was very understanding about it considering that her brother was involved.
I felt extremely lucky to have her by my side.
We went back after talking for a bit more skipping lunch time.
Our afternoon classes started and I felt anxious as time passed by because I knew that I had to talk to Luan soon.
I wondered how heâd react.
I wondered what heâd feel.
But it needed to be done.
I needed it badly.
Finally, the class with Luan was finally here and I waited for him to come.
Then I saw him enter the classroom and as soon as his eyes met mine, he smiled and my heart skipped a beat.
Get it together, Liviana.
âHiâ he said with a smile as he made his way to the sit behind me.
âHey. Can we talk later after class?â I asked him. He tilted his head to the side curiously but nodded.
âOkayâ he said then our professor came and class started again.
Suddenly, I wanted time to slow down.
I didnât want class to end.
But I knew that it will soon.
And for a moment, I felt scared. Terrified even.
I kept convincing myself that itâs what I needed to do and I stuck with that.
Class ended and everyone started to leave except Luan and I. We stayed in the room until everyone was gone.
âWhatâs up?â Luan asked softly as he sat down next to me qnd faced me.
âIâ¦I need to ask something from youâ I said as I gulped and hoped he didnât notice.
âWhat is it?â he asked. I took a deep breath.
âLetâs not see each other for a while, Luanâ I said and he froze and tensed up in his seat.
âI justâ¦I need space. I need time to think about some things and I canât do it when youâre around because I always feel distracted. It will only be for a while. I just really badly need itâ I explained. He stared at me for a moment then sighed.
âOkayâ he said and I was the one who froze in place. Then he stared straight into my eyes before holding one of my hands and then he used his other hand to put the lose strand of my hair behind my ear.
As soon as I felt his touch, I felt the tingles in my body again reminding me of the mate bond that we share.
âIâll give you your space as long as you come back to me. I can wait. I will wait. If thatâs what you need, Iâll give you just that. It will be hard for my wolf but Iâll deal with him. I just need you to come back. Thatâs all I askâ he said lovingly and I almost gave in right then and there.
Luan really has changed a lot.
In the past, I expected him to lash out on me and act like the obsessive male that he is.
But the way he handled this is very different from my expectations.
âDonât worry about me. Just take your time with yourselfâ he said then cupped my face before kissing me on my forehead.
Then, he left.
And I stayed in my seat for a moment.
I wanted space and I got it.
But why do I feel like this isnât what I want after all?
