Livianaâs POV
I found myself in the forest and saw Amaris.
But she wasnât alone.
They both turned to look at me and I glanced at the familiar wolf.
âLiviana, mate is hereâ Amaris mind linked excitedly.
âI can see that Amarisâ I chuckled.
âHi, Deimos. How have you been?â I asked and lightly caressed his black fur.
Deimos almost âpurredâ from my touch and I chuckle.
âYouâreââ
âAlpha!â
I jolt awake.
âAlpha! Trouble by the borders!â
I almost jumped out of my bed and out to my balcony.
My door burst open revealing Dante.
âMeet me by the bordersâ I said and jumped out of the balcony as I shifted into my wolf.
I sprinted to the woods as I followed the scent ofâ¦rogues.
Damn it.
I canât even take a peaceful nap.
After a little while, I sensed my warriors not too far away from me as they followed me.
The scent of the rogues got stronger and stronger as we got closer and closer.
But there was something else.
Or there was someone else.
Another wolf.
Neither a rogue nor a pack member.
I huffed.
Who the freak is it then?
We finally reached the scene and I saw a few of my guards fighting off tge rogues.
My warriors immediately came to their aid.
There was about 3 dozen of rogues and more than dozen of my men.
I growled as I started to go on offense.
I killed one rogue after another.
A rogue lunged at me as I held oneâs neck in my canines.
But even before it could land on me, it went flying to a tree when another wolf pounced on it.
It was a gray wolf.
One that was familiar to me bit I couldnât quite point out who it was.
This is definitely the wolf that is neither a rogue nor a pack member.
I finally snapped the head of the rogue and threw its lifeless body to a tree.
A pair of rogue circled me as they growled and snapped my way.
Pathetic.
I can take them on without a problem.
But then the mysterious wolf appeared beside me.
I met itâs eyes and although I didnât quite know who it was, I didnât feel the need to be aggressive with this one.
For all I know, its only trying to help.
But who is he though?
And why the hell is he in my pack territory?
The pair of rogue pounced on us. We were both able to dodge and all our moves seemed to be on sync.
We landed on the roguesâ back and clawed them making them whimper in pain as they fell to the ground.
Then we jumped back to the center.
I eyed the mystery wolf and we gave each other a nod as a group of wolves made their way to us.
It covered me and I ran in a different direction to get some momentum by using a tree.
Then I jumped and landed behind the group of wolves.
The mystery wolf and I attacked them from the front and back catching them off guard.
In just a couple of minutes, we finished them all off.
Finally, all the rogues were down.
But then, my men circled the mystery wolf.
The wolf didnât seem scared or intimidated.
Our eyes met and he started to make his way to me.
My men growled at him in warning.
âStand downâ I mind linked them and they did as they were told.
âYes, Alphaâ they replied but still kept a close watch.
âLivianaâ Dante went beside me.
âAre you okay?â he asked and I nodded. Then I nudged him a bit.
âClothes?â he asked and I nodded again.
I wanted to change into my human form.
Just then, El came with clothes in his mouth and gave it to me.
I took it from him and went to a nearby bush before shifting into my human form.
I slipped on the clothes and got out of the bush to face the mystery wolf.
Just as I was making my way to it, I heard rustling.
It all happened so fast.
The next thing I know, the mystery wolf had jumped beside me and an arrow pierced through its side as it whimpered and fell to the ground.
My eyes widened and I went to its side as it whimpered in pain.
âSht. Why did you do that?!â I said as I looked at arrow that pierced through the wolfâs side.
My men covered us protectively and my eyes wandered the area to find the culprit.
I stood up with a growl and my eyes glowed bright gold in anger.
Dante held my shoulder.
â Stay here. Iâll get themâ he said. I sighed and nodded in agreement.
Dante left with Alex and Edmond.
I returned to checked on the mystery wolf as it continued to whimper lowly.
The wound doesnât seem to be healing well.
I tried to sniff it and the scent hit me.
Wolfâs bane.
It was already mixing into the wolfâs b***d.
âGet a doctor now!â I said frustrated.
One of the warriors immediately rushed to get a doctor.
âI need to take this out. Thereâs wolfâs bane in it. Iâll apply pressure so you donât bleed out. For now, our priority is to stop the wolfâs bane from mixing into your b***d furtherâ I said and the wolf weakly nodded in agreement.
I took a deep breath.
I held the arrow and gulped.
Itâs now or never.
I pulled out the arrow earning a loud yelp from the mystery wolf.
âIâm sorryâ I said apologetically as I proceeded to put pressure on the wound so it wonât bleed out.
The wolf whimpered again.
I couldnât exactly heal him here.
Or heal him while heâs awake.
My ability was still a big secret.
The last thing I want is for a mysterious wolf who came out of nowhere to know that I can heal others.
âCan you shift? We need to transfer you to the pack hospital?â I asked.
The wolf looked into my eyes.
I motioned to El and he gave me a cloth. I covered the wolfâs body.
After a few moments, it started shifting into its human form.
My eyes immediately widened in shock.
Oh my freaking goddess.
âAndreâ¦â I muttered.
Itâs Andre.
Heâs actually here.
After so many yearsâ¦heâs back.
