Livianaâs POV
âIâ¦I love youâ I finally said and looked at Luan.
Luan looked shocked as he teared up and a smile formed on his lips.
âYou donât know how long I waited for you to say thatâ he said and a tear fell from his eye as he cupped my face and pulled me in for a k**s.
Then, when we pulled away, Luan placed his forehead on mine.
âI love you so muchâ he said with a smile.
I smiled.
We hugged each other as we continued to watch the beautiful sun set.
âA sonâ I suddenly said.
Luan looked at me confused.
I gulped.
âIâd want a son for our first bornâ I told him.
A teasing smile crept on Luanâs face as I looked away in embarrassment.
Luan held me by the chin as he made me meet his eyes.
âSounds good to meâ he said and placed a k**s on my forehead.
Then, I placed my head on his shoulder as we looked at the sea.
âYou said first born. Does that mean we can have more children?â Luan asked teasingly.
âI want our child to have a sibling. Itâs no fun being an only childâ I answered honestly.
âGood point. Thatâs definitely a yes for meâ he said mischievously.
âIâd want to have a daughter too. I bet sheâd look like a mink version of you. I just hope he isnât a boy magnet as wellâ Luan said an
I chuckled.
âI am not a boy magnetâ I defended.
âOh yes you areâ he said.
âNo Iâm notâ I argued.
âYes you areâ he urged.
âNo Iâmââ
âLivi, Ellie is gone. We canât find herâ El suddenly mind linked me.
I tensed up as I got up.
âWhatâs wrong?â Luan asked worried as he stood up as well.
âItâs Elâ I said.
âWhat happened?â I mind linked El.
âMom left her in the playroom but when she came back, she was no longer there. We tried to search for her inside and outside the house but nothing. Sheâs gone, Livi. Itâs like she vanished in thin airâ he replied.
My heart sank.
âWeâll get there as soon as we can. Let Edmond dispatch all the guards and warriors to searchâ I commanded.
âOkayâ El replied and we cut the link.
âWhat happened?â Luan asked.
âEllieâs gone. Sheâ¦she disappearedâ I said as my whole body shook in fear.
Luan held me by the shoulders.
âWeâll go back and find herâ he said and I nodded.
Luan pulled me to the car but I pulled him back.
âItâll take longer to go back in a car. We need to shift and make a run for itâ I suggested and he nodded.
We shifted in a hidden space and then we made a run for it until we found the woods and started to go through there.
We ran as fast as we can.
And I sensed that something was very wrong.
How can Ellie disappear like that when sheâs inside the pack house?
I highly doubt she can get out without anyone noticing.
If sheâs not in the vicinity either, where is she?
It didnât make sense.
Unless someone was behind it.
Someone who had a plan.
But who could it be?
And why would they target a mere child?
Is it someone who had a grudge on Edmond or Theresa or even El?
But who?
It took about an hour for us to reach the pack house.
Luan and I entered from the back as we changed into some clothes.
âLivi!â Theresa came up to me as she sobbed.
I hugged her in my arms as I caressed her back.
âWeâll find her. Weâll find Ellieâ I assured her as I guided her to sit down.
âEl, whatâs the update?â I mind linked El.
âNothing, Livi. We havenât found herâ he replied.
I sighed.
âStay here and wait if Ellie comes back, okay? Weâll help the others in searching for herâ I calmly told Theresa and she nodded.
Luan and I got out.
âIâll search in my human form. Letâs split upâ I told Luan and he nodded.
We both went to different directions.
âAmaris, I need your help on thisâ I mind linked Amaris.
âI got youâ she replied as my eye glowed gold and my senses heightened.
I began my search for Ellie.
âEllie!â I called out hoping sheâd hear me.
âEllie!â I kept calling out.
Goddess, please.
âEllie, are you here?â I shouted.
Please.
I looked around and I froze in place when I realized where I was.
It was this place.
The same place I was in my dream.
Donât tell meâ¦
Itâs tonight?
I gulped.
Then, I heard the rustling from the bushes.
Fck.
This canât be.
I canât.
I ran and every wolf in the bushes came after me.
Sht.
I shifted to my wolf.
If I couldnât beat them in my human for in my dream, maybe I can do it in my wolf form.
We reached a clearing and I stopped to face them.
The royal warriors circled me as I stayed on alert.
Iâve seen this before.
I should know whatâs about to happen.
One wolf came after another as they lunged at me the same time like in my dream.
I dodged them all and was able to grab one and quickly finished it biting onto its neck and ripping its throat out.
Like in my dream, they were fast.
Well trained palace warriors.
I managed to dodge another 3 and then caught one by its leg and I threw it to the 2 that was about to attack me.
It wasnât as hard to keep up with them as I already knew their attack plan.
Changing into my wolf was a good idea.
I brought down about 2 more wolves while the others kept attacking.
Unlike in my dream, I was able to avoid the wolf that bit onto my shoulder.
I had an advantage and I took it as I slashed it on its stomach and killed it.
But them, 2 more wolves got a hold of me as they bit into my right and left leg.
I growled and howled in pain.
But then, I felt someone land on my back.
I tried to get out of their hold but it was no use.
I felt something sting my neck and soom enough, my whole body weakened.
The wolves let me go as I fell to the ground and me eyes went blurry.
No.
This canât happen.
I need to fight.
I tried to use whatâs left of my energy to stand up but it wasnât enough.
I could no longer move.
I felt numb and in pain.
I whimpered.
Then, I saw Luanâs uncle as he held something in his hand.
He had something in his hand and suddenly, everything started to become a blur.
I finally realized what it was.
Wolfâs bane.
âGoodnight, kidâ he said and I blacked out.
I couldnât stop it.
It was inevitable.
I was bound to get caught.
But why?
Shouldnât I be saved?
I canât die.
I havenât fulfilled my destiny.
But why isnât it going my way no matter hoe hard I tried?
Why couldnât I change what was supposed to happen?
Why did I fail?
Or is this really my fate?
To suffer.
I donât know how long I was out.
But I fluttered my eyes open.
I need to do something.
I need to get out of here.
It was a dark room and there was only a little light that came from a torch in the room.
Exactly like the one in my dream.
âYouâre awakeâ someone said from the dark.
I knew who that was.
Benjamin Haymes.
The devilâs right hand.
âHad a good sleep?â he said with a creepy smile on his face.
Just like in my dream.
âNo. This chair is awfully uncomfortable. Couldnât you have provided something better for your nephewâs mate atleast?â I said with a smirk of disbelief.
He frowned at me.
âArenât you going to ask where you are?â he said.
âOnly for you to say what? That Iâm at the kingâs mercy? Oh pleaseâ I said and he looked at me in shock.
His brows furrowed at me.
âYouâre awfully brave for a kid. Do you even realize what situation you are in right now?â he said as he eyed me.
âI actually do but if you think Iâd tremble in fear, youâre mistaken. Iâd be more threatened by a cat than by some people who use petty tricks to kidnap someone from their territoryâ I said with a chuckle of disbelief.
He glared at me.
âWhat did you do to that child?â I said in a dangerous tone.
Then, he smirked.
âThe child is the least of your problems now. You should worry about yourselfâ he said and I growled at him.
He looked at me with fiery eyes as he made his way to me and held me by the neck.
âI will not tolerate this kind of behavior from a mere low life and specially not a she-wolf like yourselfâ he said angrily.
I smirked.
âYouâd be shocked to know who youâre calling a low lifeâ I said as I struggled to talk with his hold on my neck.
He laughed.
Then, suddenly the metal doors behind him opened and he immediately let me go.
The devil has arrived.
King Luis.
âWhat a pleasant sightâ the King said as he looked at me.
I chuckled and he looked at me with his brows furrowed.
âI thought you werenât the type to stoop this low to win. But I guess, you were desperate indeedâ I said with a smirk.
He glared at me as he approached me and held me by the neck.
âYou have a sharp tongue for someone who is about to dieâ he hissed at me.
I gave him a lopsided smile.
âYou canât possibly think Iâm going to let you take whatâs actually mine, right?â I said.
His hold on me tightened and I started to feel a little out of breath.
âWhy canât I? I already took your parents after allâ he said with a smug smile.
I glared at him.
âAfter all, I was the one who let the council know about your mother and fatherâs affair and watched them get hunted downâ he said.
The color on my face drained.
âWhat?!â I growled as he let me go.
He looked down at me with a smirk on his face.
âYou heard me. I was the reason for it allâ he said proudly.
He was the one who told the council about my parents.
He was the reason they got captured.
The reason why I lost them.
I saw red.
