Chapter 1110
Marrying the Man in the Dark
Chapter 1110 Avoiding the Doghouse
"You should take a look in the mirror," Damien remarked with a disdainful glance. "You look just like me. Honestly, countless women are smitten with my appearance."
Cherise raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Then, Mr. Lenoir, care to share how many women are infatuated with you?"
Damien fell silent, the atmosphere in the living room growing slightly tense. Clearing his throat slightly, Damien turned to Colin. "While many women may be drawn to me, I've always remained devoted to my wife." He then advised Colin solemnly, "So, as a man, you should uphold your responsibilities. Remember, regardless of how many women pursue you, always stay faithful to the one you love most and keep yourself pure for her."
Colin fell silent. Damien is really desperate to avoid being in the doghouse with his wife. But is it really appropriate to say such things to me? I'm a single man who has never been in a relationship? After a moment of contemplation, Colin finally came to a decision. "You're right. I should temporarily set aside my dream of becoming a comic artist for my aunt's sake. So, I suppose I should..."
"You should join us in inviting Lucy out for a discussion about your marriage," Damien interjected.
"Alright!" Colin exclaimed, waving his hand decisively. "I'm getting married!" Yet, as the words left his mouth, he couldn't shake the feeling that his actions were hasty. "Is your friend certain she doesn't want to get married? Will she do anything to me?" Colin turned to Cherise with pursed lips. "Could she develop feelings for me just because I resemble Mr. Lenoir... I mean, my brother? Has she ever... harbored inappropriate thoughts about Damien?"
Cherise narrowed her eyes. If they weren't currently in Gray Residence, and if Colin wasn't potentially Damien's biological brother, she would have shown him the door with a swift kick! "Don't worry, my friend won't fall for you just because of your looks," she stated icily, her gaze piercing. "But you should watch out. If she does marry you and ever gets upset with my husband, she'll come to you to let off steam. My friend is quite proficient in self-defense."
Colin remained silent, unsure of how to respond.
Cherise had arranged for Lucy to meet Colin at a café near Gray Residence. Initially, Lucy had intended to bring her son, Alexis, thinking his presence would intimidate Colin. Over time, Alexis and Lucy had developed a close bond, and she believed his company would deter any potential suitors. However, Cherise was concerned that Alexis might come across as too imposing and would scare Colin away, so she insisted Lucy come alone.
When Lucy arrived, slightly tardy, Cherise and Colin were already on their third cup of coffee. As the café door swung open, a woman clad in black pants and a white blouse entered. "Lucy, over here!" Cherise called out, waving and offering a welcoming smile. Lucy returned the smile and made her way towards them.
The approaching woman was tall and slim, with long, slender legs exuding an effortless grace, making her look very approachable. Colin found himself momentarily taken aback. "Is this... your friend?" he asked with a hint of surprise in his voice.
Cherise affirmed with a nod. "Yes."
Colin was momentarily speechless from surprise. He had envisioned Cherise's friend as petite and delicate as she was, assuming a similar demeanor. Yet, the woman approaching them... was curvaceous with a sensual figure.
