My bad day began as soon as I woke up. Woke up would be an exaggeration actually.

After all, I spent most of my night thinking about the boy next door, or wishing I'd gotten the guts to tell him about how I feel and beg him to reconsider, or wanting to yell at the boy next door for making me fall for him.

Yeah, basically my endless night revolved around the boy next door.

And I'm pretty sure his night wasn't revolved around me, the girl he got over, finally. I glanced over repeatedly to his room, his dark, silent, room.

And that is why I shouldn't have fallen for him! He was most likely already squirming in his bed, thinking of all the endless possibilities of girls throwing themselves all over him. And what was to stop him after all. He'd gotten over me, if he even liked me in the first place.

Anyway, totally straying from the main thing.

My bad day.

Given my restless night that also included one and a half hours of sleep (I was woken by dad getting up) and seeing Jesse get up, without a glance at my room, and shrug (without a shirt might I add) to his bathroom before exiting with his tracksuit for a jog.

I had groaned at the missing view.

My bad day continued when I saw that my strawberry scented shampoo had run out, and my toothbrush feel into the toilet (mouthwash will have to do).

It continued when I got to the kitchen and my chocolate pops cereal had finished.

I definitely was not a happy camper when I heard a car honk outside.

"Who is it?" I yelled as I grabbed an apple, and a juice box.

I poked my face outside the door to see who it was.

"Jenny?" I asked, surprised to see my friend exit a red Camaro.

"Sanny, hurry up. We're gonna be late for pep rally," she demanded as she rushed up to me, grabbed my hand and started tugging me outta the door.

"Wait," I said loud enough to be heard over her yapping on and on. "I need to grab my stuff." I stared at the Camaro with worried eyes.

"Sure," she said, "hurry up."

Ten minutes later, I sat on the edge of the sports car, still weary.

"Mind telling me why you're picking me up in a car worth the mortgage on my house?" I asked the question that had been weighing on my brain for exactly eleven minutes.

She laughed. "Oh this old thing..."

Old thing? I stared at the polished black leather, and the pristine interior.

I nodded, hoping we were talking bout the same thing.

She smiled. "Daddy went down to Manhattan and drove my baby up. He thought I deserved to have it with me. After all Jesse's got his BMW, so why not, right?"

I nodded along despite my brain thinking, Yeah, so normal to give your kids a Camaro and BMW. So flipping normal. Thanks like saying, 'I got a Lambro for my birthday to, and parked it next to my Mercedes Benz'.

"So how come you picking me up?" I asked, hoping Jesse was okay.

She looked over at me, a playful smirk on her face, "Why? Miss him already?"

My face must've looked like a red tomato because she burst out laughing.

I glared at her.

She stopped laughing when I did. "Uhm, he's already at school. Remember pep rally?"

Oh! "Right."

My bad day didn't end there. Actually it continued.

* * *

My eyes instantly searched the crowded hallway for a certain boy. A certain BMW owner.

But he wasn't in sight.

"Oh come on, San. Its just the starting of the day and you're already down," Jenny said as she slung her arms around my shoulder. "Let's get some ice cream after school. Cheer you up, y'know? My treat."

I nodded along as I see Daemon walking down the hallway towards us with the person I'd been looking for.

My eyes drifted to him instantly.

A huge smile dominated his face, his blue eyes shining brightly as he looked down at the girl walking next to him, her face mirroring his elated one.

And the sad part?

I couldn't even get angry at the girl, or even jealous.

She wasn't one of those fake, self-obsessed girls.

Darcy Daniels was one of the sweetest girls in school, if not the entire town. She was selfless, kind and adorably naive to her beauty.

And Jesse deserved someone like her. I lost my chance at being with him, and that was what counted. He'd moved on already.

They were a picture perfect couple.

I couldn't help but still force a smile as they neared.

"Hey guys," Jenny said as she eyed Darcy curiously.

Daemon nodded back at her before his eyes settled on me, concern written on his expression.

Jesse didn't say a word, his eyes on me for a few seconds before he looked at his sister.

"And who might this be?" Jenny asked as she smiled at Darcy.

"Darcy," Jesse replied, his eyes still on mine.

"Nice to meet you, Darcy," Jenny said to the redhead as she reached over and hugged her.

Darcy looked taken aback before she recovered.

"H-hi... Santana," Darcy said as she gave me a weary smile.

I could feel Jesse studying me as I looked at Darcy.

She deserves a good guy. Someone like Jesse.

I smiled at her genuinely. "Nice to see you again, Darcy," I also pulled her into an embrace to welcome her.

She looked confused as I pulled away before casting Jesse a fleeting questioning look.

She must've still thought we had really dated and that I would still have some feelings towards Jesse.

She was right. Half right that is.

I still had feelings for Jesse but we hadn't dated. Not really dated that is.

Jenny had to leave to go see her homeroom teacher. I wanted to run after her as soon as she left. But then, that would clearly show that I was affected by Jesse.

And that was the last thing I needed.

"So you coming to the pep rally?" Daemon asked me after seconds of awkward silence.

I nodded. "I think its a mandatory must-attend event. After all, the big game's coming up."

He wrapped his arms around my waist, giving me a shock. "You going to be cheering me on, right?" He said as he leaned in towards me.

My face reddened at his nearness. After all, despite my feelings for Jesse, I had liked Daemon for most of my life.

My eyes drifted to Jesse.

He looked indifferent to the current situation.

Had he really gotten over me?

"We'll see you there, Matthews," Jesse said before he walked off with Darcy.

I studied Jesse as he walked off, looking like a new guy.

"You're being too obvious about this, Sanny," Daemon said as he pulled away from me.

I eyed him, confused. "Obvious about what?"

"Obvious about liking him. You're both playing a dangerous game here, and I don't want you to be the one you gets her heart broken, okay?"

"Okay, now I'm well beyond confused."

He chuckled lightly. "I think this is something my interference isn't needed. Last time, I did, I had my heart stepped on."

I frowned, guilty.

He patted my shoulders. "It's all my fault, San. My timing was a bitch, I guess."
