Lainey
I feel tears welling in my eyes as I stare at Owen. The memories come flooding back all at once.
Every single moment between us flashes through my mind as he stares at me.
"Lane, what's wrong?" Owen asks.
"You kept your promise," I whisper.
Realization flashes through his eyes as he quickly pulls me into a tight hug. "I was so scared you would never remember," He says against the top of my head.
I rest my head on his shoulder, "You never gave up."
He pulls back and stares at me with those deep blue eyes, "Never."
"Why, I was so shitty to you," I say.
Owen shakes his head, "I was shitty two."
"No, after I woke up I was a bitch towards you," I exclaim.
Owens's lips twitch, "And you had every right to be one."
I tilt my head, "Why didn't you give up?"
"Because I have fallen hopelessly in love with you Lainey Smit." Owen's eyes darken as he pulls me closer. "I should have told you that night, but I was scared because I can't live without you, Lainey."
"And I will do anything in my power to make you mine," He adds softly.
My knees practically give out as I stare into his eyes. "I want to be yours, I to be yours more than anything else." I move closer so our chests are touching. "Because I love you, Owen Huntley, I love everything about you."
Owen lowers his head. "I want you to be mine," I breathe against his lips.
He doesn't even blink before he presses his lips to mine. Owen kisses me till we are both dizzy from lack of air.
Once we finally break apart Owen smiles. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
I nod, "I haven't been more sure about anything."
"What about school, we will have to do long distance?" Owen asks.
I shrug, "We have all summer to figure that out."
Owen's smile turns into a grin, "Once you agree to be my girlfriend there is no going back."
A teasing grin dances on my lips, "Unless we break up."
Owens's jaw twitches as he stares at me, "We won't."
I place both of my arms around his neck, "Then I don't see where all this worry is coming from, Huntley."
His grin falls, "I'm scared you will get tired of me."
I move my hand to cup his face, "I will never get tired of you, Owen."
Owen gently nods, and I feel my grin spread, "Will you Owen Huntley be me, as in Lainey Smit's boyfriend?"
Owen tilts his head as if he has to think my question over. "Only if you promise to love me forever."
I roll my eyes, "We're not getting married."
"Not yet," Owen sings.
I shove his shoulder and he laughs, "I would love to be your boyfriend."
"You have no idea what you just got yourself into," I say with a laugh.
He tightens his arms around me as the song changes into a familiar tone, "No, I know exactly what I'm getting into."
We slowly sway to Nial horns song This Town, "I love you," I say as I lean my head against Owen.
"I love you too," He whispers as we sway.
Writing this chapter was so bittersweet. It's my favorite one, but now I only have one more chapter left.
The epilogue.
