Amelia's P.O.V.
Getting to know how Vlad is and what he is currently doing to help his vampire queen protect her people makes me feel so damn proud to have a mate like him. Thank you snow goddess for blessing me with such an amazing mate like Vlad. I wanted to keep on talking with Vlad, but I noticed that the sun was coming up and that Lex is waiting for me! Oh, how I know she is going to question the hell out of me the moment I step through that door. I feel so scared I might just freeze her alive!
"I am so sorry Vlad. But I have to head back home now. Lex is going to be so worried and scary upset with me for rushing off with you like that." I explained to him in a rushed voice.
Vlad could sense that I didn't want to go but knew it was a good idea for now so he took my hand leading it closer to his lips and gave me a gentle kiss on my knuckles. The kiss gave me goosebumps as my cheeks fished pink. This guy is going to kill me with how much of a gentleman he is!
"It's fine. I have to get going as well. Don't worry. We will meet up again shortly. After all, my queen wishes to meet you."
Oh god. I'm going to meet the vampire queen! I heard rumors that she is avoiding the alpha king. Could it be that she dislikes him? Or could it be that he dislikes her? I know the vampire race and the werewolf race were not on good terms centuries ago, but that all changed when the peace treaty was made. I wonder what could be her reason.
"Alright. I can't wait to meet her too. See you soon Vlad!" I said running back home to now face true hell.
I stood outside my door fearing the devil behind that door. My hands gripped the doorknob tight too scared to open the door. Maybe she will go easy on me? Hell, even I can't believe that. Why did I have to have such a scary best friend like her! I love her but damn! I get scared and she's human! I sighed opening the door slowly like a scene in a horror movie awaiting my death as Lex was standing right before me with a stern look my mom gives me when I misbehave. Or when I froze that one girl who pissed me off.
"Hey...Lex. How's it going?" I said nervously. I better keep the door open to run out if things get messy.
"Talk Amelia. Who was that guy and what the hell happened between you and my brother?" Lex asked calmly as she could. This is the first she's holding back in not yelling at me. Good!!
"Okay. It's not much though." I said.
"Just tell me. It was not easy getting my stupid ass brother to go back home."
Yeah. That is so my fault since her brother likes me that way!
"Okay. Last night your brother asked me out confirming he liked me." I started. "But I rejected him because I only see him as a good friend and nothing more. That when that guy I told you about who left and I was upset came back to find me and apologize and the thing is I like this guy and know that he is the one I want to be with even though I just met him."
Dear god that sounded so damn cheesy. But I have to sound human!
Lex looked at me for a good hot minute trying to figure out what to say next. Hope this doesn't take long. My legs are starting to hurt from standing all night walking around to!
"Damn that was so cheesy to hear you say that my ears are bleeding! But if you feel that this guy is the one and he came all this way to find you and explain to you what happened then he's okay in my book. As for my brother, I kind of know he liked you, but I didn't say anything because it was not my place to. Though between me and you, I'm glad you rejected him because you both don't make a good couple. Don't know why, but I just don't see it in you both."
Should I feel offended by this or not? I get what she means though. I can't see myself dating her brother either. I just see him as a friend or kind of like a brother to hang around with. I hope he does find someone else to like. I can't have him like me forever. If that dose then he could end up dead by my mate. I shivered at the thought of Don's dead bloodless body. OKAY! Get that out of my head and focus!
"Thanks for understanding Lex. I was worried you would be mad at me for hurting your brother."
Lex rolled her eyes. "Please. I hurt him from the moment we were born. I remember when mom told me a story of how we were babies and I pushed him out the crib."
Yup. It's confirmed. She's not human!
"Lex. I'm going to need your help."
"With what?"
I breathed. "Tomorrow I'm going on a date with Vlad and I need your help on what to wear."
Lex beamed. "Sounds like fun! Didn't you go shopping yesterday? Show me what you got."

Vlad's P.O.V.
After Amelia had left back home, I decided to do a little bit of patrol around the park before heading back to report to my queen. Things have been calm so far finding no hunters insight. Something about that was starting to get to me. I have a gut feeling that something bad is about to happen and I just don't know what it is. Is it because now I found my mate and she could be in danger? I trust Amelia to be strong and know how to handle herself if trouble was to happen when I'm not there. However, I rather not have to deal with anything that could get her hands dirty. That's my job.
"VLAD!! IS THAT YOU!?"
I jumped from the sudden shout of my name realizing this annoying voice came from a certain idiot I know all too well. David.
Seeing David run up to me at full speed engulfing me in a tight hug that could kill a regular human. I could see that he wasn't alone as his mate Summer was with him. She laughed as David didn't let go when I tried pulling him off me. I gave a look of annoyance wanting this idiot of me. He's too much like that other idiot Kendall from the Midnight Hell pack.
"Why are you both here? ALSO, GET THE HELL OFF ME!"
He and Kendall are too much for me sometimes. How does Sean handle David, better yet how does his mate handle daily? It's far beyond me.
"We were just on patrol when David noticed you." Summer explained. "David let go of him now or no cuddles tonight."
David pouted his lips letting me go so I could breathe normally.
"Did you two find anything out of the ordinary? I asked.
David sighed. "It's good we hadn't, but this silence so far is not sitting well with me or Summer."
"So, you both felt it then."
"Yeah." Summer said.
What is going on? Something is happening.
"Will you report back to the queen," David asked.
I looked at him slightly. "I will. It is best to visit her too. She is still your queen too."
David gave a sad look. "I'll try my best to visit her."
I nodded. Idiot. The queen doesn't you.
"We best be leaving now. It was good seeing you, Vlad. Take good care and next time bring your mate along." Summer said winking.
How the hell did she know I found my mate!
"WAIT! You found your mate!?" David shouted surprised before being dragged away by the back of his shirt by Summer.
"Come on! We can talk to him next time!"
I waved them off shaking my head. That girl is something.
