âSure, you can try. But even if I end up behind bars, I have ways to turn your lives into hell,â Kellan warned, his voice cold and filled with malice.
He looked down at them with an expression that was both harsh and merciless.
âI take it youâve heard of the Lloyd family in Ontdale?â Kellan added, his tone dripping with arrogance. His words spread like wildfire across the fishing village.
âI always thought he looked familiar! Now I know why! Heâs the infamous Kellan Lloyd!â one of the villagers whispered, astonished.
âTroy has really dug himself into a hole this time. The Lloyd family is known for having strong ties in both legal and illegal circles,â someone said.
âIf theyâve crossed the Lloyd family, Troy and Mindy wonât even know how or when itâll end for them,â another person added.
The whispers in the crowd made Troy and Mindy go pale with fear. But it was Allisonâs next words that nearly made them explode with rage.
She casually glanced at the people around her.
âWhatever happens to the Hayes family today, Iâm sure no one will remember a thing. Mr. Lloyd and I have never been here,â she said, her tone cool.
Allisonâs smile looked innocent, almost sweet. But her words were laced with a deadly warning.

Her words were a clear warning.
Kellan understood that Allison was purposely trying to scare Troy and Mindy into submission. He had always seen Allison as daring, but now she was openly using his name to threaten them. Still, Kellan couldnât help but smile, pleased by her boldness. It meant she saw him as someone powerful, someone to rely on. If it were up to him, he hoped sheâd keep using him this way.
Meanwhile, the crowd started to break up and leave.
âI didnât see anything. I was just passing by,â one person muttered.
âSame here. Who would expect important people to show up in a small fishing village like ours?â another chimed in.
âI have stuff to do at home. Iâll head out now,â a third person said.
They werenât fools. After learning who Kellan really was, they knew better than to mess with the Lloyd family. More than that, they had never liked the Hayes family. Now that they knew the couple had even sold their own daughter, it was clear no one would be rushing to defend them. So, everyone acted like they hadnât seen a thing.
Troy and Mindy were furious, but there was nothing they could do about it.
âWeâll sign⦠weâll sign,â Troy spat, gritting his teeth.
Mindy had wanted to keep playing the victim with Amya, but with Allison standing in the way, she couldnât do a thing. So, with no choice, both of them reluctantly signed the agreement while lying on the floor.
