Chapter 1145:

“‘Allison, I subtly tested him earlier. Looks like he knows nothing about your mother’s situation.’”

Kellan handed her a glass of champagne.

“‘We can go to Aröme Tower later and investigate in person. We’ll definitely find something.’”

Allison nodded, and then she asked, “‘And what do you think of Fabian?’”

“‘He’s not what I expected. Even when talking business, he’s surprisingly laid-back.’” Kellan spoke as he leaned back casually on the sofa, arms crossed. “‘I also had a quick word with his secretary. If all goes as planned, we won’t have trouble getting into Aröme Tower.’”

Allison seemed lost in thought. “‘That’s good.’”

Cooperation wasn’t the priority — finding out what was going on at Aröme Tower was.

Before long, Sherman returned to the lounge, looking completely exhausted. He hurried toward them.

“‘Mr. Lloyd, I’ve just received word that we’ve lost contact with three of our partners, and they’ve sent some unusual messages.’” Sherman had finally managed to shake off the crowd. But now, there was a more pressing issue.

He passed the email to Kellan.

“‘There’s unrest at the company. We need you to check this out.’”

“‘Lost contact?’” Kellan frowned. “‘Is there any other way to reach them?’”

Sherman shook his head, regret clear on his face.

“‘No. And on top of that, our company email received some threatening messages. The programming department says they need your fingerprint to restore access and fix the website.’”

Hearing this, Allison spoke up.

“‘Go take care of the company matters first. If anything happens with Fabian, I’ll get in touch with you right away.’”

Kellan didn’t think twice about it.

“‘Stay here and relax. Fabian may seem approachable, but you can’t be too sure. Let me know if anything comes up.’”

“‘Don’t worry, I’m not a child.’” Allison smiled, recalling Kellan’s cold, distant demeanor when they first met. His transformation amused her, but it was also endearing.

“‘Even if something does happen, you know I can handle it.’”

“I know, I’m just worried about you.” Kellan smiled softly. “Allison, I’ll take care of this and be back soon.”

“‘Go ahead.’”

Once Kellan left, Melany, standing nearby, curled her lips into a sinister smile.

It seemed Hoyt had some tricks up his sleeve after all.

But since she had no idea how long he could delay things, she needed to act fast.

Melany approached a nearby waiter with a sweet smile.

“‘Hello, is that champagne on your tray?’”

The waiter, carrying a tray of champagne, nodded. “‘Yes. Can I help you with something?’”
