Chapter 1214:

She wasn’t oblivious, and his feelings for her were clear as day.

“You don’t need to come all the way here. With Kellan here, it’s okay. We’ll let you know if we need anything.”

Her words left no room for interpretation, clearly drawing a line between them. “I’ll hang up now. If there’s anything, I’ll reach out.”

On the screen, Gordon’s expression faltered briefly, his lips parting as though he wanted to say more. But before he could, the call ended with a quiet click.

Allison leaned back in her chair, rubbing her temples with a faint sigh. “I thought after being detained, he might’ve developed some psychological scars. He’s been sick before—”

Her voice trailed off when she felt a firm arm wrap around her waist, pulling her closer. The sudden warmth of the embrace caught her off guard, and before she could react, Kellan’s low voice cut through the silence.

“Allison, you don’t need to explain anything to me.”

Kellan lowered his gaze, locking eyes with her. His stare was intense, drawing her in like a deep, endless pool. As he spoke, their breaths mingled in the small space between them, warm and charged.

“I know for a fact you don’t like that man,” he said, his voice calm yet possessive.

Allison raised a brow, a faint smirk tugging at her lips. “Oh, really? Then why did you look so annoyed just now, Mr. Lloyd?”

Kellan scoffed, his expression darkening slightly. “Because he’s a nuisance. Always is.”

Before she could respond, his hand moved to cradle the back of her head. His movements were deliberate, his touch firm yet careful as he tilted her face up. Slowly, he leaned closer, his lips brushing against hers.

“I can’t stand how much he wants your attention. So, Allison, you need to focus on me. Only me.”

As the words left his mouth, his loose shirt slipped open, each button undone in a casual yet captivating rhythm. The sight made him impossibly more alluring, a mix of wild and composed, like a predator biding its time. Too much restraint would lead to an inevitable outburst.

Allison placed her hands firmly against his chest and pushed him back, her voice laced with dry humor. “Mr. Lloyd, if my memory serves me correctly, you spent all of the night before last making love to me.”

Kellan’s lips curled into a roguish grin, his tone low and teasing. “Then let’s do it again tonight.”

He moved closer, unrelenting, his lips grazing her skin as he kissed her slowly and deliberately, from the hollow of her throat down to her collarbone. When he paused, a faint red mark bloomed where his lips had lingered, like a signature left behind.

“Allison, don’t you want to?” he murmured against her skin, his voice husky.

Her breath hitched. She felt her composure slipping, her heart racing faster than she could control.

Allison wanted to respond, to find the words that would ground her, but before she could, his lips claimed hers again. The kiss drowned out her thoughts.

A week later, Allison and Kellan arrived in Vrining, fulfilling their promise to Fabian.
