Chapter 498:

In truth, the money Allison had given Amya before was more than enough.
But their moment was cut short by a loud bang at the door. âOpen up!â came a brash female voice.
Amyaâs hand instinctively reached for the dagger on her desk. In Muisvedo, it was wise to stay alert. This place was a den of wolves and snakes.
Allison held up a hand to signal silence, then tapped a few controls on the console. Thick walls rose up, enclosing the mainframe in layers of reinforced metal, transforming the room into a bare-bones warehouse. Calmly, Allison donned a half-mask, walked to the door, and opened it.
âWhatâs going on?â
Standing outside was a woman dressed in tight leather, her hair flamboyantly dyed, a baseball bat resting on her shoulder â clearly imitating Harley Quinn.
Allison recognized her immediately. Fay Walsh, one of Muisvedoâs more volatile leaders.
âScarlet Snake, itâs your lucky day.â Fay sneered, looking Allison up and down. âAmor Prescott has her eye on this base. Sheâs willing to pay you ten times the rent to move out. You have three days to clear the building.â
In Muisvedo, cash was king. Nobody questioned backgrounds.
When Allison had purchased this base a few years ago, people assumed sheâd settle into it. But over the years, she barely showed her face.
The base was an impenetrable fortress, rumored to be guarded by deadly assassins. But now, it seemed to be protected by a lone, masked woman.

Despite Fayâs overbearing attitude, Allison remained remarkably calm.
âTell your boss to find another spot,â she said, leaning casually against the doorframe, completely unfazed. âOr better yet, have her come talk to me herself.â
Fay let out a cold laugh, smugly waving a document in Allisonâs face.
âThe boss already gave his orders. This is the consent form, stamped with his personal seal.â
Allisonâs expression remained calm, her demeanor unfazed. âHave your boss come talk to me directly, or thereâs nothing to discuss.â
Fayâs face twisted with indignation; no one had ever spoken to her like that. âAre you deaf or something?â
But Allison, looking as relaxed as a cat, leaned back with an amused smile. âNot at all. I just donât understand. Why donât you explain it to me?â
âIâm saying this place is no longer yours.â Fay pulled a wad of cash from her pocket and tossed it at Allison. âYou have three days to move out. If you hold up Amorâs plans, thereâll be hell to pay.â
Her voice was laced with contempt, radiating disdain.
âGet it now, idiot?â
Allison raised an eyebrow, resting her chin in her hand. âOh? And what if I donât?â
Fay scoffed, spitting on the ground. âDo you even know who Amor is? Sheâs a powerhouse in foreign business, connected to reactionary gang leaders. Cross her, and youâll be in over your head!â
