Chapter 545:
âScarlet Snake, the floor is yours.â
Even he was wary of Amorâs wrath.
But with Kylo present, and Amorâs misdeed exposed for all to see, her prospects looked bleak.
âAndres! Have you lost your senses? Touch me, and youâll live to regret it!â
Her composure shattered, Amorâs pride dissolved in her desperation, her disheveled hair framing a face twisted with fury and panic.
But Andres remained unmoved.
âMiss Prescott, Iâd suggest you worry about your own situation first.â
With that, he signaled another guard to restrain her further. The line had already been crossed â there was no turning back now.
Kylo finally rose, picking up a dagger with an intricate, ruby-studded hilt, and extended it to Allison with a calm, even gaze. âAs the judge here, Iâm impartial. Scarlet Snake, if you would.â
Allison took the dagger from him. âThank you, Kylo.â
From his seat, Kellan watched Kylo intently.
Kylo, the man known for his merciless ways, had given Allison his personal dagger â a gesture not lost on Kellan.
Just then, Kyloâs gaze turned toward Kellan.
Their eyes locked, and a current of tension passed between them.
Allison could see it. There was Kellan, casually reclined on the sofa, while Kylo leaned, cool and collected, against the edge of the gambling table. Both men possessed an aura as cold as winter.
Yet there was a subtle distinction: while Kellan remained remote and inscrutable, Kyloâs usual demeanor was softened by a reassuring smile, one that hinted at a seasoned partner. Yet both men were masters of their craft â cunning, decisive, and relentless.
Allison had little time to dissect their interplay; her focus was now on Amor as she began to approach.
Click! Click!
The sharp rhythm of her heels against the marble floor echoed. From her vantage point, Amor could see Allisonâs tall figure moving steadily closer.
The rhythmic tapping of her heels reverberated like a ticking clock, each step peeling away her last strands of courage.
Sensing her predicament, Amor found that her defiance faltered, and she quickly shifted her tone, teeth clenched in desperation. âPlease, Scarlet Snake⦠have mercy on me?â
Tears spilled down her cheeks, mingling with the cold sweat plastering her hair to her face.
Her once-pristine makeup now smeared, she looked utterly defeated.
But Allisonâs pace remained unwavering, her footsteps mercilessly closing the distance.
