Chapter 627:
âMr. Lloyd, you havenât looked close enough.â She tipped her head toward a mural-adorned wall. âWhy not take a proper look?â
Kellan knew Allison well enough to recognize she was hinting at something. He moved closer, letting his gaze sweep the wall until he spotted it â a hollow spot, faintly recessed.
âItâs⦠hollow.â
With a quick tap, he found a protruding edge. It turned out that the wall had a few more hidden compartments. A soft click echoed in the quiet hall, and a hidden floor panel sprang open beside him.
There, nestled in the compartment, lay a chest about waist-high.
He was utterly shocked when he opened it.
The chest was packed â half with firearms and ammunition, and beneath that, a stash of glinting black-gold daggers. He let out a low, impressed whistle, reaching in and plucking out a dagger and then an AK with the easy confidence of someone handling a toy rather than a weapon.
âWell, well, it looks like youâve got more secrets up your sleeve than I thought.â
The way he handled each weapon â it would chill any soul to the bone.
âAnd this place⦠Itâs quite unique,â he continued.

He scanned the chest, noticing some gun models that were only available in Vrining.
Allison shrugged nonchalantly. âJust a little safe house,â she said, tapping the chest as if it were any other household fixture. âThe perfect hideout. No one would suspect an assassinâs lair here.â
Melany and the others would have no idea that the villaâs high-security features, like iris scanners in every corner, werenât just for show. Allison was always practical. This place was meant to evade enemies.
Every design here was her own creation.
She smiled, her fingers brushing over a hidden panel that triggered yet another compartment. A high-speed lift mechanism revealed a cabinet.
âCareful now,â she warned. âThere are trigger traps inside.â
Kellan felt a rare spark of adrenaline ignite, one he hadnât felt in years. This was Allison in her element â unpredictable, daring, intoxicating.
âLooks like youâve got quite the setup here,â he said, eyeing her.
âCare for a practice duel with me?â
âWhy not?â
Allison certainly didnât miss the joy in his eyes. It was rare to find someone who shared her thirst for danger. She was thrilled at the thought of testing herself against him, matching skill for skill.
She gestured towards a door leading below. âThe underground practice room is soundproof. Perfect for a little friendly match,â she said, leading the way. Then she seemed to recall something. âNow that I think about it, weâve sparred before, but never really gave it our all. This time, Iâm curious to see your actual strength.â
