Chapter 854:
Kellan paused for a moment, then said, âItâll work, but canât Kyloâs people take care of this? I hope you just stay on the Galaxy and wait for me.â
âWhy?â Allison asked.
âItâs too risky,â Kellan replied in a low voice. âIâ¦â His words were interrupted by static intermittently.
Allison frowned, straining to catch what he had said.
Kellanâs phone felt as though something was covering it.
âVerruckt is here, and theyâre closing in fast,â he said. Though his voice remained low, there was a sharp clarity to it now. âAllison, if you show up, Iâm afraid heâll recognize you.â
His concern was valid, and Allison knew it.
But she wasnât the type to sit around and wait for disaster to strike.
With a nod, she said, âI understand,â before quickly getting moving, preparing to rally her team to support him.
The call ended, and Kyloâs crew stood ready, armed to the teeth. Grappling hooks and steel cables gleamed in the low light, their tools for descending from the Galaxy onto the neighboring cruise ship.
Allison caught her reflection in a nearby mirror and asked, âMr. Vargas, is there a mask around here?â
Your journey begins on gⱯlnÏνeðsâ¤com
Kylo gave a curt nod. âOf course.â
Without hesitation, he motioned for someone to retrieve one. As they rushed to comply, Kyloâs curiosity deepened. Who had she angered to end up in a situation like this? Moments later, a soft mask with an intricate butterfly pattern was handed to her.
Allison adjusted it carefully, the delicate design a stark contrast to the tension that gripped the air. Five minutes later, she and Kyloâs assassins were silently descending onto the deck of Immortality Pharmaceuticalsâ cruise ship, their steel cables slicing through the quiet night.
The deck was deserted, eerily still.
Allison scanned the shadows and took a steadying breath, hoping that Verruckt wouldnât recognize her.
Meanwhile, Kellanâs tone was sharp as he issued commands. âWeâll take the stairs on the right straight to the top floor. Donât stop for anyone.â
Gordon leaned casually against the wall, his arms crossed. âIâll deal with the ones following us,â he said, his smirk as sharp as his tone.
Despite their mutual disdain, Kellan and Gordon set aside their differences for Allison. On this mission, they were united.
With a quick motion, Kellan loaded his gun and signaled his team to move out. Almost instantly, the staff in the surveillance room notified Verruckt.
Verrucktâs silver hair and crimson eyes glinted under the harsh lights. A smirk tugged at his lips. âWell, well. Finally coming out to play? Letâs make this interesting.â
