Chapter 862:
Allison frowned as she carefully wrapped the bandage around his wound. âIf weâd had a smooth journey here, maybe Iâd believe you. But we were just tossed around in seawater. How could you not feel it?â she asked, her tone sharp with disbelief.
Kellan leaned in, his lips brushing against hers. âI just didnât want you to worry,â he murmured. He kept his eyes on her as she worked on the bandage, her hands steady and focused.
Suddenly, their quiet moment was shattered by a gunshot outside. It was followed almost instantly by the sound of people screaming in panic. Allison froze, her hands pausing mid-motion.
She quickly recalled the cruise shipâs layout â there was a window in the room that overlooked the lower deck. Her eyes fell on the coffee table, where a remote control sat. It looked identical to the one she had seen in Kyloâs office.
She grabbed the remote and pressed one of the buttons. With a soft mechanical hum, the stone wall began to lower, revealing a glass window covered by blinds. âSomeoneâs heading this way,â she said, her voice steady but tense.
Allison moved closer to the window and peered down at the scene below. She instantly recognized the man stepping inside â it was Verruckt. Behind him, armed men in sharp suits followed, sending the guests into a panic. Screams echoed as people scattered in all directions. The waiters, dressed in their black uniforms, reacted quickly. They drew pistols and formed a tight circle around Verruckt and his men. Verruckt stood tall, showing no fear despite the guns pointed at him. âBring Kylo out,â he demanded, his voice firm and commanding.
Kylo didnât bother hiding. He emerged slowly, his steps deliberate, and a calm smile on his face. âSo, youâre Mr. Verruckt Shaw,â Kylo said lightly. âYouâve chased off my guests. I assume this is urgent?â

Though his lips curved into a smile, the chill radiating from Kylo was evident and sharp, like a bitter winter wind. His fearless gaze locked onto Verruckt and his group, as if daring them to make a move. It was the kind of look that seemed capable of freezing someone in their tracks.
âYou know exactly what youâve done, Mr. Vargas,â Verruckt replied, his tone sharp. He raised his eyes to the upper level. âYouâve been protecting people you shouldnât. Hand them over now, and Iâll leave quietly,â Verruckt warned.
Verruckt stood there like a devil, unshaken and devoid of fear or faith. Even in the presence of someone as formidable as Kylo, he showed no trace of intimidation. It almost seemed as though he was ready to rip Kyloâs head off with his bare hands.
Kylo, however, met his defiance with a frosty smile. âYouâre overthinking this, Mr. Shaw,â he said, his tone cool and controlled. With an air of ease, Kylo ran his fingers over the smooth surface of the jade ring he wore.
âI donât shelter those I shouldnât,â he continued, his voice steady. âAnd I certainly donât need others to teach me what to do.â
