Chapter 863:
Verruckt, noticing Kyloâs resolute expression, narrowed his eyes and glanced toward the floor above.
âLetâs strike a deal,â he suggested, his tone sharp. âGive me the woman on the deck, and Iâll act like none of this ever took place.â
Kylo responded with a scornful chuckle.
Of everyone present that night, Allison was the one person he couldnât afford to lose.
âToo bad,â Kylo replied flatly. âThe person you want isnât here.â
His smirk faded abruptly.
The air between them turned frigid, carrying the weight of unspoken tension like a biting winter draft. The charged atmosphere crackled, as though the smallest spark could ignite a storm.
Neither side showed any sign of giving in as their silent standoff continued.
Verruckt hesitated, clearly weighing whether he should ask his men to forcefully break through and search all the rooms. Before he could act, a voice behind him murmured, âMr. Shaw, Mr. Onett wants to see you.â
Kylo caught the exchange and idly turned the ring on his finger, his movements calm and deliberate.
âSeems like youâve got other business to take care of today,â he remarked casually.

Verrucktâs face remained unreadable as he replied, âMr. Vargas, weâll cross paths again.â
With that, he signaled for his men to leave.
Kylo offered a faint, almost cordial smile. âTake care,â he said lightly.
It wasnât until Verruckt and his crew had exited the casino that Kyloâs smile finally faded.
He understood the risk he had taken.
If Verruckt had chosen to escalate things, the result would have been a bloody confrontation.
But for now, he had managed to come out on top.
Andres, his tone uneasy, spoke up. âMr. Vargas, after crossing them, Iâm worried this could spill over. Not justâ¦â
here in Vrining, but our casino in Muisvedo might end up caught in the mess too.â
Kylo remained calm, his voice steady as he responded. â1t doesnât matter.â He let his eyes sweep across the room. â0ur casino has never been a place for peace. Weâve always dealt with threats â both out in the open and lurking in the shadows.â
His gaze shifted thoughtfully toward the direction of Allisonâs room.
From the way Verruckt had acted earlier, Kylo couldnât shake the sense that the man had a strange, almost obsessive interest in her.
How on earth had she ended up tangled with someone like that?
