Chapter 865:
âI know youâre worried about me, Kellan,â she said softly as she turned to loop her arms around his neck. âBut delaying wonât change anything. Heâs bound to dig into what happened tonight. Kylo knows the mayor, and thereâs no way we can keep our secrets from him. Itâs better to face this head-on.â Without giving him a chance to respond, she grabbed his collar and pulled him closer.
Her lips met his in a fiery kiss, letting the heat of the moment sweep them both away.
Successful Partnership
Kellan cupped Allisonâs head with steady hands and kissed her with an intensity that spoke volumes.
It was the kind of kiss neither of them wanted to break. Allison found herself pinned against the chilly wall, the warmth of the man before her engulfing her entirely. That warmth seemed to burn through everything else. Their breaths tangled together, each one threatening to swallow the other.
Kellanâs throat moved as he spoke, his voice steady. âSo, you plan to use Kylo?â
âYes,â Allison replied, looping her arms around his neck. âEver since Bill got involved, Iâve been afraid of losing balance. But now, Iâve found the power to tip the scales.â She gave a slow smile, her eyes narrowing into delicate crescents.
Her lips, tinged with the color of soft roses, gleamed faintly, tempting and inviting.

Still, her gaze betrayed a sharp chill beneath the surface. âThe Immortality Group isnât just studying how to live forever,â Allison said. âTheyâre also creating human weapons. The elites wonât overlook that, and Kyloâs no different.â
This was Kyloâs domain, so they couldnât risk speaking too freely, afraid that someone might be monitoring.
Even so, their eyes exchanged a silent agreement.
âAlright,â Kellan whispered, pulling her closer. âWhen the time comes, Iâll lead the team to destroy the lab.â He clung to the moment like it was precious.
Though the idea of Allison making deals with Kylo unsettled him, he trusted her judgment.
âAllison, Iâll wait for you to come back.â
âOkay.â Allison tightened her arms around Kellanâs neck. His head dipped lower, their noses brushing in a playful touch.
She gave a soft smile. âDonât worry. I wonât be gone long.â
Allison soon stepped into Kyloâs office.
Kylo still carried himself with that effortless blend of charm and elegance.
âPlease, take a seat, Ms. Clarke,â he said, his smile warm and inviting.
The comfortable ambiance of the office could almost convince someone that he was a kind, approachable man. âIt seems I interrupted a moment between you and Mr. Lloyd,â Kylo said casually, handing her a steaming cup of tea.
As he leaned forward, his eyes naturally drifted to the faint marks on her neck and the faint shine on her full lips.
