Chapter 895:
Once inside, she wasted no time and opened the entrance to the hidden lab.
Lena, lagging behind, stumbled as she tried to catch up. Desperation fueled her actions as she shouted, âI wonât let you take the test subjects!â
She charged into the lab, determined to stop them, but froze in her tracks when she reached the control room.
It was completely emptyâLilian was gone.
In that instant, clarity struck Lena like a thunderbolt. She realized the truth.
She had been played. They had all been played.
Lena couldnât believe the truth. âWho are you, exactly?!â she demanded.
Allison didnât bother responding. Instead, she quickly flipped a switch on the wall. The elevator doors slid open without delay.
She loaded the test subjects and the men in black into the elevator, then turned to one of them. âThe code youâll need is 001001. You came here with Kellan, so you still remember the way back, donât you?â
âYes, Ms. Clarke, you can count on me,â he replied. The elevator wasnât big enough for everyone, so Allison sent them ahead first.
As the doors closed, the lab fell into an uneasy silence. Lena kept her eyes fixed on Allison, unwilling to back down.
âYou took the test subjects, didnât you? And you tricked Mr. Shaw into handing over the escape door code by playing on his trust!â

Allison decided there was no point in continuing the act. She pulled a gun from her waistband and pointed it directly at Lena. âIf I were you, Iâd stay quiet and save the truth for when itâs safe to talk.â
âIâm not afraid to die!â Lenaâs voice shook as she shouted back. âYou betrayed Mr. Shaw! Youâre nothing but a liar!â Her mind flashed to the explosion in the break room earlier. She remembered that at that moment, Verruckt had been frantically searching for the assassin.
Lena had dismissed him as paranoidâAlice seemed like nothing more than a timid, clueless cleaner. Who could have guessed that Alice had been the mole all along?
Lena realized that her fate was sealed, but a reckless idea sparked in her mind.
âI know I canât take the test subjects back from you,â she said, her eyes burning with defiance as she glared at Allison. âBut I can make sure you donât leave here alive!â
Without warning, and before Allison could stop her, Lena slammed her hand onto the red button beside her. A mechanical female voice rang out almost immediately. âThe Meteor Systemâs Destruction Mode has been activated! Unrelated personnel, evacuate the laboratory at once!â
A red laser beam sliced down, searing through Lenaâs arm in an instant. More lasers followed, raining down in a relentless attack, leaving almost nowhere to hide.
Lena laughed like a madwoman. âIf Iâm going down, youâre coming with me!â
As the lasers rained down, Allison was already moving, dodging with precision and speed. She hadnât expected Lena to go this far.
