Chapter 930:
âIf they ever turn against us, it could spell trouble,â Kylo remarked, taking a slow sip of his tea. âThatâs why a few kind words to win Allisonâs favor wouldnât hurt.â
âI see your point,â Andres said, now viewing Allison with newfound respect.
At the same time, Allison had no clue what Kylo was thinking.
When she stepped into her room, she discovered that Gordon and Amya had already finished their mission. Kneeling before them was a man with his hands tied and a gag in his mouth. âWhatâs going on?â she asked, her eyes falling on the man. Something about him felt oddly familiar.
Gordon stepped forward to explain. âThis is the one we left alive after taking care of the mafia.â
Allison gave a nod of approval. âGood work.â
She glanced up, catching the faint scent of gunpowder clinging to Gordon and Amya. It was clear that they had been through an intense fight. âGo get some rest,â Allison said firmly. âIâll take care of the questioning.â
Amya hesitated, her face etched with concern. âAre you sure, Ms. Clarke? It could be risky. Do you need backup?â
Allison shook her head. âHeâs tied up like this. Thereâs no way he can harm me.â
A flicker of frustration crossed her face. Ever since her brush with death, they had been treating her like she might break at any moment.

She gave a dismissive wave. âYou did an excellent job. Now go and rest.â
Gordon and Amya exchanged a glance, then nodded reluctantly. âAlright, weâll leave it to you.â
Once they stepped out, Allison and Kellan shifted their focus to the bound man lying on the floor. He was trying to blend into the shadows. He understood all too well â being captured by Allison likely spelled his end, especially with the rest of his team wiped out.
In one swift motion, Allison pulled a short knife from her belt. She sliced through the rope gagging his mouth and then settled into a chair directly in front of him.
âYou shouldâve seen me in the past,â she said coolly.
The man glanced up at her, fear flickering in his eyes. âI have seen you,â he muttered.
Allisonâs gaze sharpened.
âYouâre one of Danielâs men, arenât you? One of his trusted subordinates.â She spoke slowly, her words deliberate. âThat ambush nearbyâit came straight from Daniel, didnât it?â
The manâs secret, one he had desperately tried to conceal, was now laid bare. He lifted his eyes to meet hers.
âWhat do you want?â he asked, his voice strained.
âLooks like I was right,â Allison said with a smile. âDonât worry, Iâm not a demon.â
The man in the suitâs heart pounded even faster at her words. To him, she might as well have been a demon. After all, she had once delivered a crushing blow to the mafia.
âIâll tell you what you want to know,â the suited man said, taking a slow breath. âBut you have to let me go.â
