Chapter 933:
Kellanâs face hardened instantly. âWhat, do you want to lose your hands too?â Malice oozed from him.
It was clear the man in the suit had something shady in mind.
Without a momentâs hesitation, Allison nodded. âSure, I can talk to you alone.â
She gave Kellan a pat on the shoulder. âYou can go now. Donât worry. Even if something goes wrong, he wonât be walking out of here.â
Kellan didnât utter a single word. His instincts screamed at him to act, to put an end to this man right then and there. But his reason told him not to be impulsive. Now that he and Allison fully trusted each other, he should let her handle this on her own. With a grunt of acknowledgment, he turned on his heel and left the room.
The silence that followed was thick.
The man, still groaning in pain, glanced at the ropes and tape scattered on the floor. It didnât take long for him to realize that Allison and Kellan shared a bond stronger than most.
If he could just catch Allison off guard, maybe he could turn the tables, hold her hostage, and take them both down in one fell swoop.
âMs. Clarke, could you come a little closer?â The man looked up at Allison. âThis is something only you should hear. Iâm afraid someone might be listening outside the door.â In his mind, he believed he was the one pulling the strings.
Seemingly unaware of his intentions, Allison took a step closer, walking toward him with measured steps.

âGo ahead, Iâm listening,â she said.
The man dropped his gaze, his voice softening. âWhat Iâm about to say⦠Allison, your kindness will be your undoing!â
Before he could even blink, he lunged forward, attempting to seize her by the throat, hoping to force her to the floor.
But Allison was a step ahead.
A blade flashed in her hand, slicing through the air in a blur of motion.
The sickening thud of the blade connecting with his wrist was followed by a gush of warm blood. âMy hand!!!â
His scream echoed through the room, the pain radiating from his wrist as he crumpled to the floor, eyes wide with terror. Allison was too fastâfaster than he could ever have imagined. Too fast for anyone to keep up with.
Before he could even process what had happened, the tip of the blade was pressing against his throat.
âYou know, I was actually thinking of letting you go today,â she said, tilting her head slightly as she met his panicked gaze. âBut then, you just had to follow in Danielâs footsteps and dig your own grave?!â
The manâs face went ashen, sweat soaking his skin as he tried to hold himself together, his body trembling in fear.
âIf youâre going to kill me, just do it⦠end it.â His thoughts were a jumble of memories, and in that moment, a fleeting recollection surfacedâsomething Daniel had once said to him: never confront her head-on. Back then, he hadnât understood the weight of those words. Now, facing his demise, he realized they werenât just adviceâthey were a warning.
