Chapter 952:
âMelany, just say what you need to say. I donât have time for small talk,â Allison said, taking a seat across from her.
She noticed that Melanyâs left hand rested on her barely noticeable belly. It seemed like a subtle attempt to make a point, but Allison paid it no mind. She already knew the situation.
âWell, then Iâll get straight to the point,â Melany said, a sly gleam in her eyes. âI have photos of you at the Fleeingland Lab.â
She pulled out a manila envelope from beside her and tossed it onto the coffee table without ceremony. The envelope made a sharp âpatâ sound, breaking the silence in the room.
âBet you didnât expect someone to catch your face that night,â Melany continued, her voice soft but sharp, carrying a threatening undertone. It was as unnerving as the flick of a snakeâs tongue.
Melany wasnât sure why Kellan destroyed the research institute, but since Allison was involved, it was clear she held leverage over both of them.
âSo what if they did?â Allison tilted her head, her gaze fixed on the envelope. âYou donât really think my being there means anything, do you?â
âOf course thereâs more!â Melany sneered, glancing toward the Stevensâ family study. âYou killed Colton. These photos prove you set off the explosive.â Her eyes locked with Allisonâs. âAllison, you wouldnât want me to tell Keanu and Lindy, would you?â
Allison narrowed her eyes. âSo, what do you want?â Something about the situation didnât sit right with her. Colton couldnât have truly died in that building. After all, she had checked and confirmed that the officeâs safety systems were designed to shield him, even in the event of an earthquake.

Thinking she had finally intimidated Allison, Melany smirked, her confidence growing. âI want ten million dollars for your silence, and I want you to leave Ontdale for good. If you do that, I wonât say a word.â
So, it was blackmail. Allison understood the situation clearly and decided to play along, appearing willing to comply. âFine.â
Her eyes dropped to the envelope resting on the coffee table. âBut I need to see the photos first to make sure theyâre real.â
Melany slid the envelope toward her. âTake a good look, but donât even think about keeping them. There are bodyguards everywhere around the house.â
Allison ignored the sarcasm and reached for the envelope. Just as she was about to open it, footsteps echoed behind her.
Melany quickly snatched the envelope back and collapsed onto the sofa, groaning dramatically. âOuch, my belly hurts so much!â she cried out. âAllison, even if you donât like me, you shouldnât push me!â
Allison furrowed her brows, instantly realizing it was a trap. The so-called threat was likely just a scheme to get her to the Stevens house.
As she processed this, she looked up, following the sound of the footsteps. Sure enough, Lindy and Keanu walked through the door.
âAllison, what are you doing here?â Keanu asked.
