Chapter 982:
Mindy clutched her cheek, tears streaming down her face. âI regret it too! It was an emergency back then. I never thought theyâd actually take Amya by force!â
Their pitiful display was nothing more than a transparent attempt to gain sympathy.
Allison just let out a cold, mocking laugh.
âSo, did you get the four hundred thousand?â she asked, her tone biting.
Kellan added, with a sharp sneer, âOr did you just forget receiving the money because you quickly gambled it all away?â
At their accusations, Troy slumped, too terrified to speak.
âIâll take the business card,â Allison said, her voice steady.
Her gaze locked onto the couple, and she delivered her threat. âIâll try my best to save her, but thereâs one thing you need to remember. From now on, your daughter has nothing to do with you anymore. If you ever harass her for money again, Iâll make sure you vanish from Ontdale.â
Troy muttered, âUn⦠understood.â
He knew all too well that Allison and Kellan were capable of killing.
Once the pair left, Troyâs sycophantic smile completely disappeared.

His face contorted with rage as he cursed under his breath. âDamn it! Who do those two think they are, talking to me like that?â
âDonât worry, love,â Mindy said, her eyes gleaming with hatred. âTheyâll regret this. If they actually go to that beauty salon, they wonât make it out alive.â
After Allison and Kellan got back to the car, Sherman called.
âMr. Lloyd, all the invitations are taken. Trying to buy one now could look suspicious.â
Kellan frowned. âLooks like we have to come up with a different plan.â
Once the call ended, Allison pulled out the business card.
âThey havenât left yet. It has to be one of these two reasons: either theyâre waiting for someone important, or theyâre still short on supplies.â
Kellan understood right away. He frowned and asked, âAre you really willing to take the risk?â
Allison nodded. âThis cruise ship is easier to get into than the others weâve dealt with. And a beauty clinic isnât any more dangerous than a research institute.â
Kellan knew that once Allison had made up her mind, there was no changing it.
âIâll go with you,â he said.
The beauty clinic was clearly a lending platform targeting women, so Kellan couldnât go inside.
But Allison could.
She nodded and passed him the business card.
âWe need to hurry. Timeâs running out.â
Kellan didnât like the idea of her taking such risks, but he understood how much Amya meant to her.
