Chapter 42// "Bye Aaron, say hi to the devil for me when you go back to Hell"
"Come on now Aribella you need to get that leg up higher" I shout out loud, she really wasn't trying. But really what was I expecting her to. She'd had her place as head cheerleader snatched from her. What can I say karma is one heck of a bitch.
She completely ignores me. She couldn't say anything to me now, she knew if she took one step out of line I could easily kick her out the Cheerleading team.
But I wouldn't do that, sadly we needed her, she may be a dumb cow, but she knew how to cheerlead.
I get the team to start from the beginning as I count them through the routine.
I was trying to concentrate on my team when I see something suspicious. I see Ryan walking side by side with someone. I squint my eyes to see who it was and I was taken aback to see it was Carter.
We had been given special permission to stay back this late; it was obviously weird that they were both in school at this time.
Things between Carter and me haven't resolved. I also felt pity for Carter; his friends had practically disowned him after what occurred on the night of the summer ball.
I take a second glance at the boys. It was most definitely Carter and it didn't look like him and Ryan were arguing. Almost like they were friends.
"Stop" I say to my team. One girl falls to the ground due to the harshness of my voice. I don't even looking at them, my gaze was on where Carter and Ryan were going, and I needed to follow them.
"Winter watch the team, stretch or something" I tell her. I begin to walk away when I hear Aribella's voice.
"Some team captain she is, always busy with her boy issues"
I didn't have time to retaliate to her comment.
They both went through the emergency exit, I run after them. Inside I hear their voices loud and clear.
"He's going to want to see you tonight, but he won't trust you fully" That was obviously Ryan's voice.
Their conversation continues from there and I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. It couldn't be what I was thinking.
Without thinking twice I walk fast to catch up with them.
"Carter" My voice echoed in the empty hall.
They both turn around simultaneously. Carter looked startled to see me but Ryan looked please to see me.
"Wow nice boobs in that skimpy cheerleading outfit. D's, no double D's" he guesses.
"E's actually Ryan, and don't look like that because you'll never get close them"
He raises an eyebrow at me, like he was humored by my comment. He really needed a slap in the face, with an axe.
I smile to myself at the thought.
I look at Carter now " I need to talk to you"
There's a moment of silence. I was indicating that I wanted Ryan to fall off the planet but so far no one was moving.
"Ryan, leave, I'll catch up with you later"
"Are you sure you can handle her, this one is feisty" Ryan smirks at me. His tone of voice made me want to puke on him.
"Ryan. Leave" His voice was stern, and Ryan rolls his eyes as he walks away whistling.
I look back at Carter who was trying not to look me in the eye.
"Why the fuck are you hanging out with Ryan. He is the definition of trouble, he may as well be crowned the devil""
He finally looks me in the eye.
'Why are you here Crescent? This has nothing to do with you? Go back to playing happy families with whichever boy you've moved on with"
"Do I really have to remind you that it was your fault Elliott broke up with me, you fucked things up for me"
"It's your fault I lost all my friends, your such a self- centered cow. You might hate me but I hate you so much more"
I didn't think about it like that. Due of everything that happened Carter really was alone and I could see by the sharpness in his voice that he was hurting.
"But why are you with Ryan, he's not the only guy in the school?" I ask still confused.
"I'm going back to the place where people still care about me"
It takes a minute for all the pieces to fit in my head. Oh god this was all my fault.
"You can leave, don't go back to them, Carter what are you thinking. Your going back to Aaron's side"
How could he just walk back in to Aaron's side? I couldn't even imagine the amount of betrayal my brother and his friends would feel.
Carter shakes his head at me "You don't understand. You think that this whole thing is a game, it's not it's serious. People have been seriously hurt"
"Then make me understand Carter" I plead with him. My voice softens "I need to know, I need to look out for Daniel. He's the only family I have"
'There's one thing you need to know and listen carefully because I'm only going to tell you this once. Get out of this whole thing; go move in with your dad, I don't know. But you're a target, a very big one, if Aaron gets his hands on you he can control everyone around you"
"I can look after myself, just come back to this side, they'll forgive you. I'll talk to them," I say trying to sound confident even though Carter's words were worrying me.
"I'm going so that I can keep them safe. Aaron promised to leave them alone" he lets out a evil laugh "Aaron will never leave them alone, he just needed Elliott out his way for now. He needs them. Did you know Elliott shot him"?
I nod in response. Well thanks for reminding me Carter.
"Aaron is never going to forget that, he'll make us all pay for Elliott's mistake"
I look at him sadly. He was going to be making the biggest mistake of his life, even I knew that.
"I thought you were a great girl when I first met you. Nothing like Daniel. Daniel is manipulative and gets his way in everything. You're exactly like him, but your still a great girl, you just choose the wrong guy"
"Are you saying I should have choose you?" I ask him there was annoyance in my tone.
"No I didn't think you should have got mixed up with any of us. And Elliott, well he was nowhere near good enough for you, you deserve someone who has a good heart and Elliott really doesn't have a heart at all"
'Don't go back to them" I tell him. If I never got, mixed up with Elliott then Carter wouldn't be forced to go back to Aaron's gang.
"I swore a blood oath" And he disappears in to the shadows.

I sit on the edge of the bleachers. It was eating me up on the inside the meeting I had with Carter. I was conflicted with telling some one or just keeping it to myself. Either way there would be bad news.
The cheerleading team and I were on the bleachers after we preformed our routine.
As the first match of the season continues I knew something was wrong. Ryan seemed to be extra happy today which really pissed me off.
Also all 4 of them kept walking up to each other and whispering to each other. It was obvious that something was seriously wrong.
They kept on looking around the bleachers as though they were looking for someone specific.
But even though they're concentration wasn't in the game, it was obvious we were going to win, the other team was completely shit.
As soon as the whistle is blown I want to go up to Conner or Aiden to see what was going on, but they were all forced to go back to the changing rooms.
People began to leave seeing as the match was over, but I had to wait seeing as Daniel was my ride. I was still barely talking to my brother but I knew I wasn't able to ignore him forever.
In the crowd of students and some parent there are 3 guys that looked out of place. The one in the centre seemed to be slender but he had his hood up, so I was unable to see his face.
Then the 2 men on either side of him were bulkier than him and covered in tattoos. Like them ones that chased Elliott and me after the winter formal last year.
The pitch is nearly empty but they weren't leaving they stood at the top of the bleachers unmoving. A cold feeling ran through me.
I decide to stand up and go in to the hall where the boy changing rooms were located too check why they were taking so long.
I jump in fright when I see them begin to walk in my direction.
Dear god why me?
But miraculously at the same time I see Daniel and Conner running out the changing room. They knew something was wrong, they were both sprinting towards me and in the distance I could see Alec and Aidan following them.
Conner is the first one to reach me and he pulls me next to him securely, he turned me around so that we're all facing the hooded guy.
I see a small flash of jet black hair, and a glimpse of blue eyes.
They stop dead in front of us by a good few inches. Not too close.
That's when the guy in the centre lifts his bent head up and brings his hands up to removed the hood from his hair to uncover his face.
It was someone young, with bright blue eyes and extremely dark black hair. The color made him look very pale. He was probably in his nearly twenties and I knew I had never seen him in my life. The second his hood falls down, Conner stand half in front of me almost to cover me.
I was about to laugh. I felt like Bella from that baseball scene in twilight. I always swore at her in that book for being such an incompetent idiot, she never stood up for herself.
So if I were a book would that be how I looked right now.
I decide to push Conner to the side and stand tall.
"Daniel" The guy's voice was low and when he said my brother's name he pronounced ever letter in an eerie sort of fashion.
"You said you would leave us alone. You swore it" Conner's voice was threatening and defensive.
"Conner, I haven't done anything. I just wanted to see her. See what the big fuss was about"
The guy looks at me curiously. I step forward and put out my hand.
"Hi I'm Crescent Dawson and who are you?"
He takes my hand and shakes it, wow this guy had a tight grip, and there was a half-sided smile on his face.
"I'm Aaron"
I instantly pull my hand away and hold it in front of me.
"Aaron, as in THE Aaron, that made my ex leave town, the one who made my brother join some sort of dumbass gang. The Aaron that my ex shot because he was being a cunt"
I wipe my hand on Conner trying to show how much I hated him already.
He laughs at me, but I wasn't laughing. No one else was. I was actually sickened by the fact he was standing in front of me.
"Yes, that description fits me perfectly well"
That's when I lunge for him, but I feel Conner grip on to me. I struggle against me but he holds me firmly.
"Let me at him I'm going to out pull his pants and use them to hand him from a tree. Huh here that Aaron, ever felt a wedgie before" I snarl.
"Clam down blondie, stop drawing his attention to you" Conner whispers in my ear, I knew he was trying t stop himself form laughing, I felt his face so close to mine.
This poor excuse for a human being was Elliott's cousin. It was unbelievable seeing as Elliott was lighthearted and humors and this guy was just dark.
I never imagined him to look so young. I imagined him as being a bald man, with grey eyes and a triple chin. I guess that's just cliché.
"I wanted to meet you"
"But why me?"
"You might not realize it but you have so many people wrapped around your finger"
I was going to say something back. he's just messing with you cress I tell myself
"You look better as a blonde"
"Remind me to dye my hair back to brown" I glare at Ryan.
That's when I see 2 figures walking across the pitch they pass us and from what I can see they are walking closer to Aaron the bastard and his henchmen.
Ryan was walking with pride towards Aaron. Is this boy for real?
"Carter what are you doing?" I heard Daniel's voice; he sounded like he was in pure shock, as Carter got closer to Aaron.
Carter didn't say anything, but Aaron was holding the grin on his face. The way he stood like he was untouchable, he stood tall.
"Carter are you out your fucking mind, Elliott fucked up his goddamn life to get us out and you go back to him. Are you demented" Daniel shouts in absolute rage.
Elliott fucked up his life for his friends.
"What was I supposed to do? You've all ignore me for months" Carter's voice was strained.
But the thing is I understood what Carter was going through.
When Winter and Aribella stopped talking last year, all I wanted to do was hurt them back. I felt so alone.
I could see the betrayal in each boys expressions and Carter couldn't look any of them in the eyes. They knew that now Carter was there, there was no chance he could come back to us.
"Carter you know there no going back. You may as well be dead to us. It would be easier"
Ouch Daniel's final words were harsh.
Growing up I always saw it as Elliott, Daniel and Carter being close and then separately Conner, Alec and Aidan were close. That's the way it was.
"One by one you shall all come back. Your just following Elliott like a herd sheep"
Aaron looks at me when he says Elliott's name.
"Don't look at me when you say his name, I've moved on from him"
"Really, With who?" Aaron asks looking amused he raises his black eyebrows. He was taunting me.
I literally bite my tongue not knowing what to say.
"Me"
I turn to look at Conner but only for a brief second, before he leans down to bring his lips down on mine.
The kiss was brief and fast.
Obviously the surprise of being kissed makes my stomach churn and I nearly lose my balance.
I tried to make the kiss as entertaining as possible as I added a few moans in. Conner knew what I was doing as he smirked against my lips.
When Conner pulls away from me I see Ryan's expression is unhappy just like the last time. Carter look amazed by the fact Conner just kissed me. What made me the happiest was the fact that the smirk was wiped clean of Aaron's face.
"Aaron you keep to the deal. You leave ALL of us alone" Conner speaks, breaking the silence.
Aaron locks gazes with me for a brief moment, his gaze was threatening.
"Bye Aaron, say hi to the devil for me when you go back to hell"
Aaron turns around and the others follow him, we watch them leave the gate, looking like ghosts.
That's when I feel someone slap me on the back of my head.
"Ow" I whine.
"Oh I was just checking if your brain was working, why were you answering back to Aaron. You should have laid on the floor and curled up in to a ball" Daniel scorns me.
"I actual love your sass" Aiden comments.
"I didn't want to be Bella from twilight" I respond to Daniel's comment.
"That won't work because your Edward left you so now you're vulnerable" Aidan points out.
"Don't worry I think my sister has found herself a Jacob already"
Everyone turns to look at Conner.
"Don't look at me I don't know what the fuck you are all talking about. I just kissed her because it seemed like the most logical answer. Unless you wanted to kiss her Daniel"
My brother scrunches his nose in disgust.
"Did you see his face, he was so pissed off" Aiden adds smiling.
"Are you not going to say anything to me. You know maybe lock me up in a high tower, or bury me alive' I ask Daniel.
"I have nothing to do with your relationships anymore. I give up" he puts his hands up.
"What? Now you give up, you should have given up 7 months ago. Your such a shitty brother"
Everyone walks ahead and Conner walks beside me.
"That was quick thinking"
He doesn't say anything.
'It was quite smart"
Silence. Has he gone mute? I wonder where the unmute button is.
"Remember that time I told you that you were a bad kisser" I nod, we had to part was now seeing as I was going home in Daniel's car.
"I lied your kisses are intoxicating"
And he walks away.

IMPORTANT: I want to change the name of this book seeing at this title doesn't fit well at all.
As people who have read this book I thinking you could maybe come up with a good name??
And whoever comes up with my future title will get a special mention aswell.
I started this book thinking it would be a pure cliché. *Looks back at the book* I'm drifting quite far from it so I better bring it back together.
So we have met Aaron. Don't you all just love him? Not!
