Rodas's POV----------------"You can leave if you want Elora but I'm not going to live a false honest life!"Out of anger and frustration, I made that cold statement last night in front of Elora. And now, she is refusing to see me. I tried to apologize once I realised what I said but it was too late. The damage has been already done. The fear has taken the throne on my head. I'm so afraid that she will leave me for real which is the first thing I can't even imagine facing.I saw her leaving with Jeremy early in the morning. I went near her but she didn't even look at me. But I felt a little bit of relief that she was with Jeremy. I will talk to her once she comes back. I'm going to make sure that I don't say such words ever again in my life.Even though I was angry I shouldn't have blurted out something like that. I don't know what got into me but it was such a stupid thing I did.I'll get on my knees if I have to but she has to stay. No one can protect her like I can. She said she didn't like it here. I'm ready to make any changes she wants. If she wants only two of us to stay in this mansion then I will make it happen.I will do anything. Anything to make her forget about that silly idea of her living somewhere far away and getting killed like a dog. The front door of my office room opens and Zeco walks in with a swollen expression on his face. Something must have happened with Jeremy again. "Ready to go," He says, standing like a statue beside the door.I put the pen down and take my coat before making my way out of the room with Zeco following me behind. "Are they here?" I ask Zeco while getting inside the car. He nods, starting the car."But we've got to be careful with them" I scoff. "They know the consequences if they ever try to betray me," My meeting with some businessmen will be held in a hotel. We have to be careful because these meetings often end up messy. They are not ordinary businessmen but backed by powerful figures. When proud men come to one place and sit in a meeting, things don't go accordingly. So, I understand why Zeco is being concerned.But I've been in those meetings countless times and not once have I lost a deal. Zeco stops the car in front of a five-star hotel after forty-five minutes. The entrance is heavily guarded. Zeco goes ahead and verifies our identity card before coming back and opening the car door for me. "We've been waiting for you, Mr Castillo," a brown bearded man says as soon as I enter the meeting room.I nod with a smirk before taking a seat. Immediately I sense the man sitting beside me giving me constant eyes. I turn to look at him and he grins. Such a fake expression. The meeting lasted for thirty minutes straight. The room is now in chaos. Shouting and screaming at each other. I chuckle and pull myself away to the balcony. I've proposed my deal. Now whoever wins there will be my business partner. Five minutes later, the man sitting beside me comes and starts smoking. "Nice view eh?" He starts the conversation. I keep my face straight, the way he was looking at me earlier, I knew he wanted something from me. "Keep it straight," I say dryly.He laughs and drops the cigarette butt before stepping on it."Your girlfriend's so beautiful and innocent... Isn't she?"My jaw tightens as soon as I hear him say that. I know that damn well but who is he to comment on my girl. I shoot him a glare."Do you wish to die?" I growl.He shrugs and raises his both hands before flashing a stupid smile at me."I mean no harm, Mr Castillo." He then takes out something from his pocket. I frown while looking at his ID. He is a police officer."What do you want officer? Nothing illegal going on here I guess!" I say while raising my eyebrows."Oh no!" He whispers and takes a step closer to me. "I'm here just to warn you" I laugh."Warn me?" That's a ridiculous thing to say.He nods, giving me that fake smile of his again."You've done things that will cause you your whole life...""You people just keep barking officer...you don't dare to bring solid evidence and keep me behind the bar" I sneer at him."Oh! We are almost there Mr Castillo. So make sure not to drag innocent people along with you" he grins and pats my shoulder but immediately withdraws his hand when I glare at him again.He lights another cigarette. "Look don't take me in a wrong way. I'm not interested in your girl or something but I think you should let her go now. She is innocent and young. If you go down, we have no choice but to take her down too because even if she hasn't committed any crime, her greatest crime would be being together with you- "I reach for his collar and clutch him hard. "Don't. You. Dare. Say. Another. Word" I warn him. "I'll kill you here and no one will give a damn""How fierce, Mr Castillo" he grins again.I pat his chest multiple times before leaving the balcony.His words gave me a headache.Who is he to say? Just a mere low-rank officer.Try bringing me down first and then bark. They have been trying to do that for ages now but no one succeeded.And about Elora. There's no one. There's no one other than me.Who has the right to say anything about her? There's no one but me who has the right to protect her...And destroy her.
