Angie watched as April left the cave. She thought about all the things she and Leo were talking about.
"I see you're awake."
Angie jumped upon hearing that voice. She looked up and saw Leo. Seeing him close up, Angie could tell he was the most handsome guy she ever saw.
"Um, yeah, I just woke up. And I sort of overheard you were having with that girl," she stammered.
Leo held his hand out for her, and after some hesitation, Angie took it. Very gently, he pulled her up.
"You overheard us talking?" he asked.
"Yeah, but you can trust me. Plus, thank you for saving my life," she answered shyly.
He smirked and answered. "No problem. Name's Leonardo, but I go by Leo."
"I'm Angelina, but I go by Angie," she smiled, and they couldn't break eye contact.
They sat down by the fire, and they talked about their lives: Angie being the oldest of two children, her parents' deaths, how she cares for her little sister, Skyla, while Leo being the oldest of four brothers, having a rat father and sensei, being friends with April and Casey Jones, how they defeated their enemy, the Shredder and what was going on now.
After a moment of silence, Angie said. "Hey, listen, I heard April telling you you've been here for over a year without writing."
"I can't go back, I have to continue my training," he answered, keeping his gaze on the fire.
"Don't you miss your family? I'm sure they're missing you too," she pointed out.
"A little bit, I don't wanna fail at being a good leader," he admitted a little sadly.
Angie gave a smile. "You don't have to be better to be good enough. You're perfect the way you are."
He gazed up at her and then down at the ground. "I don't know if I'm perfect enough," he said.
"No one's gonna be perfect enough, Leo. But I believe your family's waiting for you to come home," she stated.
Before Leo could say anything, a little girl, with a pink ribbon in her hair and green glasses, came running into the cave.
"Angie!" she called.
"Skyla?" Angie gasped in surprise.
Leo was shocked at first but recovered.
Angie got up and knelt with her arms out. Skyla ran into them, and the two sisters hugged.
"I missed you, Hermana," Skyla said smiling.
"I missed you too, Sky," Angie returned, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Angie, who's this?" Leo asked, getting the girls' attention.
"Oh right, um, Leo, this is my little sister, Skyla. Sis, this is Leo," Angie introduced.
"Hi there, little one," Leo said as Skyla approached him with a look of awe on her face as if she had fallen in love with him.
"Turtle?" she asked.
"That's right, I'm a turtle. And I'm a ninja," he chuckled.
Skyla jumped at him and hugged him around his neck, surprising him a bit.
"Aww, thank you," he wrapped one arm around her back.
"Skyla, what are you doing here alone?" Angie asked as Leo sat her on his lap.
"Mrs. Curdle's looking for us. So I ran to hide in the jungle," Skyla replied, feeling a little upset.
Angie was horrified. "Oh no, really?"
Skyla nodded.
"Who's Mrs. Curdle?" Leo asked.
"She's the woman who ran the Orphanage, Skyla, and I had to go to after we lost our parents, and we hated living there," Angie replied.
"She's very abusive, and she has crazy rules, AND you get locked up in the dark cellar with the rats for a week," Skyla added, tearing up.
Leo felt the anger boiling up inside him. How could someone do that to two innocent girls like Angie and Skyla? Then he made a decision.
"I'm not gonna let her find you two. You both can stay with me," he said.
"But she'll find us here," Skyla said in fear.
"We won't stay here," he said.
Angie's eyes widened in relation. "Leo, do you mean-"
"We're going to New York," he replied.

A/N Angie has a little sister named Skyla and Leo's decided to take them to New York to stop Mrs. Curdle from finding them.
