Storm's Pov
This has got to be the longest car ride ever, it feels like we are moving in circles. Glancing at a completely calm looking Ollie I wonder if he is just messing with me.
"Haven't we gotten there yet?" He shrugs not even bothering to answer my question. "Seriously how far is this place?"
Ollie sighs,"To be honest we passed the place." I open my mouth to curse at him but he lifts his finger stopping me. "Let's just say it's payback although I definitely know I'm going to regret but don't worry we're almost there." I shake my head at him.
"Can I ask you something?" I ask and he nods his head at me. "Does Artemis have you know powers?" I whisper the last part out.
"Why do you ask?"
"Well the way she spoke to you guys the last time and you just obeyed." He stares at me for a minute before bringing his gaze back to the road.
"I wouldn't call it powers. It's more of an alpha command." He explains.
Scrunching my face in confusion, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"We're here." He says suddenly.
I stare at the long stretch of trees surrounding the whole place, tilting my head in curiosity I ask him." Where exactly because all I can see is trees." I point out. He rolls his eyes at me, unlocking his door and getting out. I follow suit because in the horror movies the one who stays in the car dies first and I know it's not my time.
I follow him as we walk deeper into the quiet forest, the sound of my shoes can only be heard not even Ollie's shoes make noise. He stops suddenly looking around for a minute before turning to grin at me.
"Okay we're here."
Watching him as if he is crazy I put my hands on my waist and glare at him. "For the last time there's nothing here!"
He smirks at me nodding his head, "True but just walk between those trees." Turning to where he is pointing I look at the two tall trees heck they are even bigger than the ones we passed by. Ollie notices my hesitancy to go there and pushes me roughly, I flip him off but nonetheless starting walking towards them. The moment I walk through them I immediately feel a shift in the atmosphere like the first time I met Artemis. I start moving forward but Ollie grabs my arm stopping me from wherever it is I was going.
He shakes his head at me and points to a different direction. "We're going to Artemis house." I nod my head and follow him. We walk for some few minutes before a house comes into view. I stare at the huge house in front of me and my jaw drops.
Ollie snorts at the look on my face. "Yeah I know."
"Does she live here alone?"
"Yeah but sometimes I and Selena come to visit but most at times she does stay alone. Artemis likes to be away from everyone." He says.
Frowning at him, "Doesn't she feel lonely?"
He shrugs opening the door. "Not anymore." I walk inside the house and the first thing I see is Artemis standing there glaring at only who I can assume is Ollie. Selena smiles and waves at me. I return the gesture feeling a bit awkward.
"Hey Artemis." Ollie drawls out in a high pitched voice. The glare on her face doesn't lessen, gosh I hope that I don't ever face that she's even scarier than my mother. Ollie walks towards her slowly raising his hand in surrender at her. "I can explain."
"Oh really?" She says softly still glaring and tapping her feet on the ground. I stare at her wondering how her voice is so soft even though she looks pissed.
Ollie nods his head quickly. "Yes, yes just hear me out." She nods her head at him and Selena points to Ollie dragging her thumb across her neck and it seems that scares Ollie even more. Artemis is small and he is like a huge bear so how much damage can be done.
Ollie opens and closes his mouth severally but no words comes out. I see sweat form on his forehead as he wrings his fingers nervously. Feeling amused by the exchange and also deciding to save Ollie.
"Artemis." I call out. She turns to watch me and everything stops. My eyes go over her form slowly and I internally groan when I see her wearing shorts exposing those tanned legs of hers. I bring my gaze back to her watching as her cheeks flame up. Damn she's so beautiful. Someone clears their throat and that pulls me out from the trance.
Ollie watches me with a pleading look and I sigh, so that's what he meant by payback. "It's my fault that we're late." Artemis narrows her eyes at me turning to glare at Ollie before relaxing.
"Fine but you're in big trouble Ollie better prepare for tomorrow." She grumbles and he gulps before nodding quickly rushing out of the house. Selena laughs at him and points to the two of us.
"Have fun you two." She smirks and follows Ollie closing the door behind her. I shake my head at those two, the place is quiet as I stare at Artemis.
Finally deciding to break the silence I speak up. "Aren't you going to say anything?"
Her eyes widen and she shakes her head but then starts to nod a again. I chuckle at how adorable she looks doing that. I step closer to her, she shivers slightly when I grab her chin gently.
Smirking at her I cup her cheeks and she exhales deeply nuzzling her face against my palm before kissing it all the while staring deeply into my eyes.
"Hi." She whispers.
"Hi." I whisper but step back a bit when I feel overwhelmed by the various emotions rushing through my body. Is this normal? She sighs when I pull away from her but doesn't say anything.
You're so stupid Storm now you've ruined the moment.
Rubbing my neck nervously. "Uh Ollie said you wanted to see me."
"Yeah but we'll talk tomorrow. It's late and you need to sleep." She says softly turning around and motioning for me to follow her. We walk up the stairs until we reach a hallway. She stops in front of a door opening it and gesturing for me to go inside.
"This is your room." I take in the black and grey themed room with white walls. The king sized bed right in the middle of the room covered with a grey comforter.
"Where is your room?" I ask her.
"It's across from yours so if you need anything just call me and I'll be here." Nodding I continue to stare at her intensely but she avoids my gaze. "Well I'll see you in the morning." She says softly and leaves the room shutting the door quietly behind her. Sighing I take of my jeans and pull my shirt over my head and just then the door opens.
"Storm I was wond-" Artemis squeaks suddenly turning around and covering her eyes. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry I didn't mean to barge in like that. I should have knocked gosh I'm so stupid, I promise I didn't see anything okay maybe I did but I swear I turned immediately and it's not that you aren't attractive because you are and I just-
"Artemis!" I say cutting of her rambling chuckling at her. I grab her arm, gently turning her to face me but she still has her hands covering her eyes. Laughing at the flustered look on her face I try to pry her hands but she shakes her head at me. "Artemis, it's okay just take your hands off."
"Nope I just came here to hand you some clothes I borrowed from Ollie so I'm just gonna drop it and you know wobble away from here." She says softly still covering her eyes. I snicker at her when she drops the clothes on the floor and makes a dash for the door without even looking at me. I pick up the clothes consisting of black sweatpants and a white shirt, dropping them on the nearest chair i hop onto the bed.
Tomorrow is gonna be different and with that thought in mind I drift off to sleep with a small smile on my face.

Would Artemis mind if I steal the bed? Because this has got to be the softest bed I have ever slept on. It's like sleeping on a cloud but then again what do I even know about clouds. I've being awake for sometime but felt lazy to get up. A knock on the door pulls me out from my thoughts.
"Uh Storm are you awake?" says Artemis.
"Yeah I'll be down in a sec." I retort.
"Okay well I'll be in the kitchen. Just turn left when you climb down the stairs. And oh before I forget there's a tooth brush in the cabinet below the sink so um yeah." she tells me.
"Okay." Getting up I walk to the bathroom and I've got to say I am hella impressed by what I'm seeing here. Holy crap it's got a bath tub and a shower, talk about fancy. Opening the cabinet I find it stocked with everything and wait a minute is that her shampoo? Shaking my head and smiling to myself I quickly do everything, leaving the room and heading towards the kitchen when the smell of pancakes greet me.
Standing beside the stove flipping a pancake is Artemis dressed in a black jeans and a black cropped shirt. Her dark hair raised in a ponytail as she hums a tune, she turns smiling at me.
"Sit down." I move from where I was standing beside the door and take a seat on the chair beside the counter. She places all kinds of food on the table, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toasts and bacon. My jaw drops as I stare at all of them switching between looking at her face and the food.
"Oh wow um that's something." I mutter. The hopeful smile on her face disappears.
"I'm sorry I went a bit overboard, it's just I didn't know what you liked and I decided to do everything but if you don't like it I can make something else or better yet we can skip breakfast if you're not into it." rambles Artemis.
"No it's okay, I just didn't expect it. I usually just eat cereals in the morn-"
"Cereal?" She says cutting me off. "I have cereals." She starts opening the cupboards. "I have Lucky Charms, coco puffs oh and I have oats but I don't know if you'll like-
"Artemis enough."I say chuckling as she blushes and tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I'll eat what you've done can't just let it go to waste right?"
"Right." She says sitting down on the chair. I take a piece of the pancake stuffing it into my mouth. Groaning to myself, this has got to be the best because my mom sucks at making pancakes and dad just messes it up. I raise my head to see Artemis staring at me expectantly.
"This is good." I mutter with a mouthful of bacon in my mouth. She giggles at me but nods her head also eating hers. "Where did you learn to cook like that?" I ask her after sometime of eating half of everything.
Artemis shrugs."I learnt by myself and Pablo helped a bit since I live alone."
Nodding my head, makes sense I think to myself. She gets up and starts clearing the table but I stop her taking the plates away. "Let me do it." She stares at me for a minute before nodding her head. After showing me how to operate the dishwasher I follow her to the living room. She sits on the floor and I do same facing her.
"So are we gonna talk?" I ask her and she nods her head at me.
"Yeah I guess." She mumbles. "Do you want to go first or?" She asks and I shrug.
"Well you wanted to see me so I think it's best if you tell me why."
"Yeah. I was giving you the space that you asked for but something came up that's why I asked Ollie to come get you." She explains.
Raising my brow at her, "What is that something?"
"Oh you know just something but trust me it's for your own protection."
Sighing at her I tug on my hair. "You can't just say this and not give me an explanation Artemis. It doesn't work that way."
"I know, I know but later okay." She pleads placing her hand on my arm. I stare into those violet eyes searching for something to hint whether she's lying or not but hey I'm not an expert at reading someone's eyes.
"Fine but you owe me." I point out and she nods her head quickly. "And before you say anything else I have had sometime to think about you being well a wolf and all that and even though it still confuses the hell out of me I understand." I tell her smiling slightly when her eyes lit up.
"Really?" She asks excitedly and I nod my head. "So you'll not reject me for being your mate?" She asks reluctantly and I frown at her.
"I still don't understand that part but I'm not going to reject you, you'll just have to teach me what it means to be a mate." She squeals jumping from where she's sitting and tackling me in a hug. I wrap my arms around her waist laughing at her excitement.
"Oh I will! I promise! Now come on I'd like to show you around." She says pulling away from me. I help her get up when the front door bangs against the wall.
"I'm here bitches!" Ollie yells and Artemis growls lowly at him. I stare at her in shock and she offers me a sheepish smile. Yup I've got a lot to learn. Ollie walks in with Selena behind him. He grins at us when he notices the glare on Artemis face.
"What's with the face?" he says pouting at Artemis. She rolls her eyes at him and turns to Selena.
"Report."
Selena stand up straight, arms clasped behind her back with a serious expression on her face. "There's was another break through the barrier again this time four rogues were spotted. The warriors are waiting for you on the training grounds, two pack members have requested a leave to visit the humans and the Alpha of Black moons pack has requested another meeting again."
What the fuck is going on? I stare between Artemis and Selena.
Ollie pats my back offering me a sympathetic look. "Don't worry buddy it will make sense soon." I frown at him.
"Seriously how are they still breaking through the damn barrier." Artemis growls. Selena shrugs but doesn't give an answer. "Grant the request for the two pack members but tell them they should be back before six and also tell Alpha whatever the hell his name is-
"It's Alpha Dickens." Selena interrupts her and I snort at the name. What an unfortunate soul.
Artemis glares at Selena before continuing where she left off. "Well then tell Alpha dick to shove his meeting up his ass." I stare at her in shock remind me never to get on her bad side. She turns to Ollie who is eating a bowl of cereal. Wasn't he standing beside me? And where did he get the cereal from?
"Ollie." He pauses mid way with the spoon staring at Artemis. "You're with me and the warriors." She states.
"Oh come on Artemis today was supposed to be my day off." He whines.
"Yeah well suck it up." Artemis turns to me offering me an apologetic look.
"Sorry Storm but the tour is gonna have to wait, you can come with me to the training grounds though." She offers and I nod shrugging.
"Well I have nothing doing might as well follow." I tell her. She smiles and links her arm with mine.
"You can go Selena."
"Yes Alpha." Selena bows and walks away leaving Ollie, I and Artemis behind.
"Come on Ollie let's go." She says dragging me along with her.
"B-but I'm not done with breakfast." he whines shoving a mouthful of cereal in his mouth.
"I don't care, drop it and let's go!" She yells back at him.
"Fuck! I knew she was lying when she said fine." Artemis smirks when he says that.
"You cheeky little girl." I say smiling teasingly at her and she gives me an innocent look.
"Whatever do you mean?" She pouts, my eyes drop on her lips before flickering back to stare into her eyes. I shake my head at her and smile as Ollie catches up to us.
The wind slightly blows cooling down the heat a bit. The forest looks even better during the day.
I nudge Artemis, "Is where we are going far?"
"Not really we'll be there soon." She replies. It doesn't take long before I hear grunts coming from somewhere. We walk towards a huge open space and my jaw drops at the sight in front of me and here I thought the gym was a battlefield. It ranges from people practicing with arrows, to knives and hand to hand kombat.
"Impressive right?" Ollie says and I nod too dumbfounded to speak.
"This is pretty cool." I say still in awe. Artemis walks further and everyone stops to stare at her. Ollie grabs my arm and pulls me in the direction of where Artemis is and they stare at me both male and female, some in curiosity, okay most in curiosity and the rest just have resting bitch face.
"Damien!" Artemis yells into the crowd. A guy who I can assume is Damien comes forward and if I thought Pablo was huge well I'm definitely mistaken. This dude is scary as fuck, the scar running across his makes him look like the dude from the Lion King. Brown hair tied in a man bun, a tattoo wrapping his arm like a vine as dull, cold blue eyes stares at me for a moment before looking back to Artemis.
"Alpha." He says bowing at her.
"What happened?"
"The mission was successful. We were able to infiltrate their hiding place but it seems they knew we were coming." he grunts and Artemis frowns.
"Casualties?"
"Two are injured and one died." He states without any ounce of emotion and Artemis sighs. I stare at the confusingly and Artemis notices smiling at me and pulling me forward to stand beside her.
"Damien this is Storm my mate, Storm this is Damien our head warrior." She introduces. I grin at him offering him my hand to shake but he stares at it for minute before disregarding my hand shake.
He frowns and turns to Artemis. "He is human." he states.
"Yes he is." His frown deepens but doesn't say anything. He watches me in curiosity shaking his head and bowing before walking away from us leaving me hanging.
"He just left me hanging." I mutter in disbelief and Ollie snorts at me.
"Yeah he doesn't trust people who offer handshakes." Ollie says and I stare at him incredulously.
"That has got to be the worst bullshit I have ever-
"Alpha!" A voice yells running towards us. Everyone becomes alert and Artemis takes a protective stand in front of me. Um lady I think it's meant to be the other way round.
"What is it Samaria?" Artemis says her shoulders tensed as if preparing to attack any moment from now.
"Rogues on the east side of the barrier." The Samaria girl pants out. I furrow my brows in confusion, what is this rogue thing? Artemis growls and her eyes turn vibrant violet again.
"Son of a biscuits! You've got to be kidding me!" She snaps at no one in particular but Samaria whimpers tilting her head to the side bearing her neck to Artemis. "Ollie Stay with Storm. Damien get three of your warriors and let's go!" She orders and a chorus of 'yes Alpha' is heard.
She turns to me offering an apologetic smile. "Rain check?" I nod my head even though I'm confused. She smiles, stands on her toes and kisses my cheek.
"If anything happens to him, you're dead." she threatens Ollie and he bows his head. She turns to Samaria once Damien and the others have gotten closer and her eyes glow red. "Lead the way."
Samaria nods and they run quickly leaving me confused as to what happened but at the same time feeling worried.
Don't worry mate I'll be back. A soft voice floats in my head and realisation dawns on me.
Holy fuck Artemis knows I'm george of the jungle.
