Storm's Pov

What just happened? One minute we're talking and the next Artemis is disappearing.

"What's going on Storm?" Jay questions.

"How the fuck am I supposed to know." I state flatly, taking my phone from my pocket and dialing Ollie's number. Lyle looks at me with brows furrowed and I groan running my fingers through my hair when it goes to voicemail.

Fuck! I try again again listening to it ring before finally he picks up.

"Not now Storm." Is the first thing he says to me.

"Yes now! So kindly tell me what the fuck is going on?!" I snap and he releases a sigh, a shuffling noise in the background.

"Riley got kidnapped."

Riley? Who the fuck is that?

I frown. "Who is Riley?"

"A kid we met at the Alpha of Rogues' pack. Artemis is very fond of him." He explains and my frown deepens. "Look Storm I got to go before she does something crazy."

"I'm coming with you." I say rushing to get the keys from counter passing by Lyle and Jay with questioning looks on their faces.

"I don't think that's a good idea." He says and I narrow my eyes walking over the door, Lyle and Jay behind me.

"Just how strong is she?" Lyle mutters staring at the door and Jay shrugs. Opening the garage, I unlock the range and Jay let's out a low whistle.

"Damn."

I back out of the garage speeding my way through the forest. "I honestly don't care what you think, I'm on my way to the pack house."

Ollie let's out a frustrated sigh. "Fine but don't bother coming to the pack house just stop somewhere and I'll meet you there." And hangs up.

Turning the car off, my leg bounces anxiously as I wait for Ollie. Running my fingers through my hair, I close my eyes tightly taking deep breaths to calm myself. Fucking hell, Artemis is going to be the death of me.

"Uh why have we stopped?"

Damn it, forgot they were with me. I glance sideways my brows furrowed. "Something came and I'll have to leave you here."

"What?!" Lyle outbursts in shock and I purse my lips nodding my head. Calling one last person again and she picks up on the first ring.

"Selena I need you to watch over Jay and Lyle for me." I mutter and Jay makes a weird sound at the back of his throat staring at me incredulously.

"Are you at Artemis house?" She questions and I shake my head before remembering that she can't see me.

"No, but I'm not far from her house just follow Ollie okay." I reply.

"Yes Alpha." She retorts and I'm physically taken aback by the use of the title. I hang up staring at the black screen in surprise.

"Why did you call her?"

I shift in my seat turning to face Jay, an unimpressed look on his face as he glares at me and I shrug. "Because I trust her and moreover she's someone familiar."

He huffs, folding his arm in front of his chest looking away from me. It doesn't take long till I hear paws against the grounds.

"They're coming." I mutter opening my door. The others follow suit, Lyle looking around confusingly.

"I don't see any---" His words gets cut off when two fairly large wolves appear from behind the trees. Lyle and Jay freeze on the spot, eyes wide as they stare at Knox and what I'm guessing is Selena.

My eyes run over her wolf, the colour of her fur taking the same shade as her hair but a shade darker. The tip of her ears are white with hazel eyes staring at us. They come to a stop in front of me lowering their heads and I nod acknowledging them.

Standing close to Ollie's wolf Selena looks small  but still bigger than the other wolves I've seen.

"Do you mind shifting?" I ask and they nod their heads, Ollie shifting on the spot and Selena trotting behind a tree. I raise my brow at Ollie.

"Really?" I state flatly and he grins nodding his head. Selena steps out from behind the trees fully clothed and a back pack in her hand.

She steps forward handing it to me and I stare at it confusingly. "Uh..."

She grins. "It's for Artemis just in case you spend more than a day there and Ollie has the clothes he'll wear once he shifts." She explains glancing at Jay who looks away the moment their eyes meet.

She sighs her brows furrowing and I press my lips into a thin line.

"Wait are you running there?" I ask Ollie and he nods.

"It's much faster than using the car." He explains and I nod, guess I'll be riding a wolf.

Wait that sounds so wrong.

I nod, handing the keys to Selena. "Take care of them." jerking my thumb towards my friends and she nods.

Facing them, I smile. "Don't be dicks."

Lyle flips me off and Jay scoffs under his breath walking back to the car with Lyle following him. Selena makes a move to join them and I grab her arm quickly stopping her. "He's trying to wrap his mind about everything but he'll come around I promise."

She gives me a small smile nodding her head before entering the car and driving towards the pack house. I turn my gaze to Ollie, a frown on his face before he let's out a sigh running his fingers through his blonde hair.

"Are we ready?" I question and he nods quickly shifting into his wolf and lowering himself. He tilts his large head to the side electric blue eyes staring at me and I get the feeling that he's asking if he can get up.

"I'm okay, you can stand." I murmur gripping his fur tightly in my fist and he nods rising to his feet. The movements make me wobble a bit but I hold on tighter patting his side to let me know that he can go.

And just like that he's off, speeding through the forest, jumping over fallen branches and roots, maneuvering his way through the trees and ducking to avoid getting hit in the face. Everything looks like a blur of green and blue, the wind wildly hitting my face. This feels so weird but in cool way.

It might have been seconds or minutes but he finally slows down, moving in a steady trot until finally stopping. I look up and honestly everything looks the same but also different. He lowers himself again allowing me to jump down and I nearly crumble from how weak my legs are, grabbing onto a branch to steady myself.

Knox let's out a snort and I raise my head glaring at him. "Fuck you."

He steps closer to me, nudging the back pack with his snout and I quickly open it, searching through it and taking his clothes out.

He grabs it with his mouth, stepping back and dropping it to the ground before shifting. He stretches his muscles letting out a groan. "You know you're kind if heavy, I could feel my muscles breaking."

I roll my eyes at him pointing to his clothes. "Shut up and put it on."

He chuckles picking the jeans and shirt, discarding the boxers and I raise my brow at him once he's done dressing. "Commando under the jeans?"

He wiggles his brow. "Yup."

Shaking my head at him, I look around a frown on my face. "Where are we?" I question.

Ollie sniffs the air and begins walking straight ahead. "Rogue territory." He says and I nod.

"We need to hurry up." He adds looking around the place for a minute. Slinging the bag over my shoulder I rush catching up with him and it doesn't take long until we reach an opening, a figure standing in the distance.

I squint trying to make out who that person is. The person runs stopping right in front of us, his nose twitching as grey eyes land on me with brows raised. "A human?"

Ollie nods. "Yep and that's Alpha Artemis mate."

Is that naked douche?

His eyes widen, quickly bowing his head to me. "I'm Nathan, beta of the rogues."

I give him a firm nod. "Storm."

He looks up giving me a nod before turning to face Ollie. "Alpha Artemis is waiting for you."

Ollie nods his head following Nathan.

"Where's Artemis?" I question and he winces, a grim look on his face.

"You'll have to see for yourself."

What I'm guessing is their pack house comes to view and judging from the gloomy atmosphere and the cautious way in which they inch away from us, I'm guessing Red has got to be the reason.

A woman quickly rushes out from the house and Ollie runs meeting her halfway, wrapping his arms around her.

"Who is she?" I ask and Nathan purses his lips staring at them sadly.

"That's Riley's mom." He replies and his eyes glaze over until they come back to normal. He faces me, a frown on his face. "Your mate knows you're here."

"Where is she?" I rush out looking around and he points towards the roof. Following his line of sight, my breath hitches in my throat when I find Artemis sitting at the edge of the roof, head tilted to the side with red eyes staring at me.

Her lips move as she points to me. "What are you doing here?"

I purse my lips at her. "Following you."

She raises her brow staring at me for a minute before rising to her feet. My eyes widen and I quickly run to the house, standing at the edge of the stairs and stretching my arm to her. "You better not jump from there Red!"

A slow smirk creeps on her face. "Catch me." she whispers and my eyes widen when she let's herself go. My eyes widen when I see her getting closer to me and as if on impulse, my arm stretches out catching her just in time.

Fuck since when was my reflex this sharp.

Looking down at her in surprise, she grins at me. "Guess we should add super strength and quick reflexes to the list of things happening to you. Good catch though."

What?

She unwraps her arms hopping down and I take a step back looking at her I'm disbelief. "What did you just say?"

She smiles shrugging taking deep breaths before allowing her eyes to shift back to violet. "I will explain later but now I need to find Riley."

I nod, the kid is more important. Artemis rushes towards Ollie wrapping her arms around the mom who let's out a choked sob."Please find my baby for me."

Artemis pulls back staring at her with a determined look on her face. "Don't worry Dorothy I'll bring him home. I promise."

Dorothy smiles gratefully through her tears,  her lips trembling from the sobs she's trying to keep in. "Thank Alpha Artemis."

Artemis nods turning to face Nathan. "Tell your Alpha to come back and please help her inside."  She orders and I watch in awe as Nathan bows his heading obeying her.

He quickly helps Dorothy inside the house and Ollie sighs running his fingers through his hair. "We need to find him before its too late."

Artemis nods tying her hair up in a ponytail. "I scouted the area and even though his scent is faint I know where to start from."

"Artemis!" A voice yells and we turn around  watching as someone rushes towards her with two other people. I narrow my eyes when he stops in front of her, eyes searching hers with a frown. "Nathan just informed me of your arrival and that you wanted to see me."

She nods stepping away from him. "Yes and I need to know if you found anything?"

He pushes his dark hair from his face, brows furrowed as he shakes his head."The scent is too faint to follow."

She nods glancing at Ollie. "We don't have much time so let's go." Grabbing her wrist before she can move, I turn her around a frown on my face.

"I'm coming with you." I mutter and she frowns shaking her head at me.

"I'm sorry Storm but it's too dangerous."

I scoff. "I'm sorry but I wasn't asking." Her eyes narrow into slits and I glare at her as we stare at each other no one blinking until she relents looking away first.

"Fine." She mutters begrudgingly and I grin kissing her cheeks. A throat clears and we look up, a frown on dark eyes face.

"What's a human doing here?" He questions glaring at me.

"This is my mate Storm." She introduces and his eyes widen glancing at Artemis in shock.

"Your mate is human?" He questions giving me a once over and I step behind Artemis glaring at him.

"Yes I'm human do you have a problem with it?"

He glares at me jaw tightening. "As a matter of fact I do. Humans aren't supposed to be mixed with supernaturals."

Who the fuck is this guy?

I raise my brow at him. "And I should care because...?"

He scoffs. "It could be dangerous for us if other humans know about our existence."

"Sucks to be you then." I mutter and he growls taking a threatening step forward.

"You should watch how you speak to me."

I give him a flat look. "And you should learn to mind your damn business."

"I am the Alpha of Rogues and whether you're the mate to Artemis or not you will respect me."

My eyes widen and I look down at Artemis to see a sheepish smile on her face.

This is the naked douche?

She nods her head at me and I scoff raising my head to glare at him. "I'll have to add you to the list of things I give zero fucks about."

He growls taking another step forward and Artemis let's out a low growl glaring at him. "One more step and I can promise you'll be a cripple." She snaps and Alpha douche stops, glaring at me one last time before taking a step back.

"We need to hurry up, Ollie shift and head towards the northern side, that's where his scent is  most likely the strongest."

Ollie nods quickly taking off his clothes and shifting into his wolf. Artemis turns to face me. "You need to try and catch up with us okay because we are going to move very fast."

I frown looking at her. "I don't know about that."

She grins shaking her head, raising her hand to tap the mark on my neck and I shiver slightly from the amount of tingles coursing through me. "You'll be able to trust me and once we get back from this we're going to start training you."

"I don't under--"

"Just take deeps breaths and feel the wind wrapping around your legs and let it take control, then run. " She explains briefly cutting me off.

Alpha douche shifts into a midnight black wolf following the direction Ollie went and I glance at Artemis to see her giving me an encouraging smile before turning on her heels and running in that direction.

I take in deep breaths following her instructions, allowing myself to feel the wind wrapping around me and then I run. My jaw drops at how fast I'm moving through the forest and it's almost as if I'm not even running just gliding through it.

What is happening? How am I doing this? Focusing my attention straight ahead, my jaw drops as everything looks clear and heightened. From the speck of dust, to the leaf slowly falling to the ground. Everything seems to be moving slowly except for me. I see Artemis in front of me, her hair whipping through the wind and she looks over her shoulder smiling at me.

This feels like when I was on Knox, with the winding rushing through my face and everything becoming a blur-wait a minute.

Is Artemis a vampire??

A chuckle floats through the wind. "I'm not a vampire Storm and focus else you might trip."

I stare wide eyed at her, my mouth opening and she giggles shaking her head at me

"Get ready to slow down okay." Her soft voice floats in my ear and I frown.

"How am I supposed to do that?"

"Just like how you felt the wind wrapping around you, let it unwrap slowly but steady and then you stop okay." She explains and somehow I'm able to see Artemis slowing down.

So taking her advice I imagine it unwrapping from me, disappearing from my body, my heartbeat slowing down to a steady rhythm until I feel my legs coming down to a stop.

I take in deep breaths, exhaling and leaning my weight against a nearby tree to stop the trembling in my knees. Artemis approaches me, an apologetic smile on her face. "I'm sorry I should have warned you that gravity will take place."

And with that I feel the ground underneath me moving until I fall. I huff, turning my head and narrowing my eyes at the amused smile on her face. "Don't you dare laugh."

She shakes her head, pretending to zip her lip and I roll my eyes trying to get up but end up falling back to the ground.

Artemis let's out a giggle, a pair of feet stand in front of me and I slowly trail my eyes up until it lands on a smirking Ollie.

"What's up?" He mocks

I glare at him. "Not me that's for sure." He let's out a low chuckle stretching his hand toward me and I take it pulling myself up. My knees tremble a bit making me lean my whole weight on Ollie who let's out a grunt.

Feeling that I can finally stand on my own two feet without falling, I let go squaring my shoulders and Artemis smiles. Alpha douche runs toward us, lips pressed into thin line.

"The scent is gone." He murmurs frowning and Artemis nods her head.

"Don't worry." She closes her eyes, taking deep breaths and everything becomes silent. The wind stops blowing, the chirping of the birds cannot even be heard. The forest remains still and I glance at Artemis, her brows furrowed in concentration.

"What is she doing?" I whisper feeling as if I talk any louder I might disrupt the eerie silence.

Ollie shrugs watching her. "Finding Riley." I frown staring at her, I thought his scent gone how is she going to even-

"Found him." She murmurs turning around and I nearly gasp from the colour of her eyes but it disappears just as it came. I blink wondering if I saw wrong or not.

Alpha douche stands beside her and I glare at the nonexistent space between them. This asshole is getting on my nerves.

"Where is he?" He questions glancing around and Artemis moves away from him, making her way towards me.

She purses her lips at me before she sighs. "There are going to be a lot of rogue werewolves there but what I need you to do is find Riley and get him out."

I frown. "What about you?"

She sighs a small smile on her face. "Don't worry about me, right now Riley is the most important person."

I purse my lips turning around to face Ollie, jerking my thumb towards her. "Make sure she's safe."

He bows nodding his head at me and she chuckles rolling her eyes at me. "They are a little bit further down the hill so be on guard okay." She announces giving everyone a meaningful look and we all nod.

Ollie and Alpha douche shift into their wolves leading the way and Artemis turns to face me wiggling her brows. "Ready for part two?"

I groan. "Not really." She giggles, disappearing from my sight and I sigh repeating them same process again.

The time we reach below the hill it's almost sundown. Ahead of us looks to be a cabin with two people at the front of the door but apart from that there seems to be no one.

Why does this feel so wrong?

We are hiding behind the tree just watching them. Alpha douche makes a move to step forward and Artemis raises her hand stopping him.

She shakes her head pointing at the two guards in front of the cabin. "They are just a decoy, Ollie."

"Yes Alpha." He responds turning on his heels and running in the other direction. I try to listen to the sound of his footsteps but come up short. Guess he's light on his feet.

Ollie returns within minutes a frown on his face. "The two are really a decoy, the cabin is empty. They have an underground hideout and I think that is where Riley might be."

She nods her head at him. "Thought as much. Did you find a way that can lead us underground without having to use the main entrance?" She questions glancing in his direction

He smirks winking at us. "Way ahead of you." And moves in the direction that he came from. We all follow him, trying to be as quiet as possible, well I'm trying to be quiet as possible and it's honestly difficult when twigs keep appearing out of nowhere anytime I step on where Artemis steps.

How is she not stepping on them and I am?

Ollie raises his fist signalling as to stop and crouches using his hand to wipe the dirt. Looking around, I realise we are at the back of the cabin, the inside looks empty.

Bringing my gaze back to the task at hand, Ollie twists something on the wooden boards and it makes a click sound. He raises it slowly, turning to smile at us before he jumps inside.

"It's not far down so just jump." His voice echoes in the darkness. Alpha douche jumps in, followed by Artemis. Looking around one last time to make sure no one saw us, I also jump and I'm temporarily blinded by the darkness.

A hand finds my own in the dark and guessing my the tingles coursing through me I know it's Artemis. Her eyes shift on me, glowing a vibrant violet and I stare at her in awe.

"Stay close." She whispers and I nod my head in response.

The walk down the hallway is dark and difficult to make out the silhouette of the others. She squeezes my hand reassuringly and I return the gesture. A light suddenly appears at the end and we stop at a T-junction.

The left side looks empty and so does the right.

Alpha douche sniffs the air before nodding. "Let's go left." He murmurs walking down the left hallway. Water trickle down the rusted pipes to the floor and as we get closer we hear the murmurs of voice coming down the hallway.

"I wanna go home." A tiny voice whispers and we all freeze backing ourselves against the wall.

"You wanna go home?" A gruff voice mocks, letting out a laugh and I purse my lips jaw tightening. Something clanks against a metal and the tiny voice whimpers.

"That's Riley." Artemis whispers face blank and I clench my fist. She let's go of my hand, tightening her ponytail before looking at Ollie who honestly looks murderous right now. "Ollie distract them."

He nods without saying anything, a chuckle escaping him as he electric blue eyes stare straight ahead a smirk forming on his lips. He steps out from behind the wall, whistling.

"Who the fuck are you?" The same gruff voice snaps and I hear Ollie chuckle.

"I'm the grim reaper." He says and begins whistling.

I roll my eyes at his dramatics.

Artemis turns to face me, a frown adorning her face. "We need to make sure they don't get back up so we're heading to the opposite side, stay with Ollie."

I scowl at the "we" part knowing she's talking about dickward. "Fine." I mutter.

She grins leaning forward to kiss my cheek and I smile wrapping my arm tightly around her. "Be careful okay." I whisper into her hair and she nods squeezing my waist before pulling back.

"You too." And nods at douche signalling them to go.

Douche observes me for a minute before nodding his head but I don't fucking miss the taunting smirk on his face.

I glare at his back wishing I could wipe the stupid smirk of his chiselled face. I step forward looking around the corner to see Ollie comfortably sitting on the chair, a carefree look on his face.

I hear a voice float in my ear and I frown staring at the back of Ollie's head. "The moment I say go, you rush in and get Riley out."

Looking around the place, I see a small cage with a little boy backed against the corner, his knees brought to his chest as he hides his face in them. I purse my lips at how terrified he looks before glaring at the assholes in front of the cage. "Okay."

He gives me a subtly nod and rises to his feet. "Okay times up it was nice talking to you." They stare at him in confusion and the same gruff voice that was taunting Riley speaks up.

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

Ollie's twist his neck from side to side, rolling his shoulders and points to him. "Your vocabulary sucks so I'm going go start with you first."

Gruff voice opens his mouth to speak and Ollie appears in front of him, gripping his neck tightly before snapping it, the screams dying in his throat and he flings the body away.

The rest turn to look at him, the neck bent at an awkward angle, with mouth open and eyes staring at the ceiling. They shift their gaze to Ollie growls echoing around the room.

"This should be fun." Ollie muses and they attack at the same time. Their movements to fast for me to see but all I can say is that they are definitely getting their ass kicked.

"Storm get him!" Ollie yells over the grunts and groans of pains and I quickly rush out from the corner, ducking when body is thrown my way.

"Do you mind throwing it somewhere else!" I snap rising to my feet.

"Sorry!" He yells catching the fist sent is way and ducking for the one behind him to punch his friend. "That was close." And grabs the arm of the guy behind him doing  a round kick to his gut.

Focus Storm.

I rush to the cage bending down to get a closer look at Riley. He sniffs the air, baby blue eyes looking at me with a frown. "You smell like a human and something else." He murmurs and I nod my head.

"Yeah I am but I need you to trust me okay. I need to get you out of the cage." I mutter twisting the lock around. Fuck I need a key.  I frown searching around the room for keys until my gaze lands of the gruff voice guy, a set of keys dangling from his pocket.

Shifting my eyes to Riley I purse my lips. "Wait here."

He rolls his eyes giving me a flat look. "It's not like I can go anywhere."

I narrow my eyes at him, that cheeky little midget. Deciding to ignore him, I crawl on all fours making my way towards him, slapping my hand against my mouth when an arm suddenly drops in front of me.

My eyes widen, jaw dropping and I shift my gaze to Ollie staring at me sheepishly. "Sorry." He mouths.

I shake my head, walking over the arm and making sure I don't touch anything, quickly unhooking the keys from his belt and rushing back to the cage.

Pushing my hair from my face, I place the key in the lock twisting it around until I hear a click. Opening it, I stretch my arms towards Riley and he slowly crawls into my arms burying his face in my neck.

I sigh in relief hugging him tight and rising to my feet. Looking around the room of dead bodies I frown as more come into the room. "Keep your face buried and don't look up until I say you do."

He nods his head, the mop of curls tickling my neck and I look around the room. Ollie grunts, grabbing the heads of the two beside him and smashing them together. He looks up, a frown on his face when he sees the look in my eyes and shakes his head. "Run Storm!"

Pressing my lips into a thin line, a groan of frustration escaping me before nodding. Taking deep breaths, wrapping my arms securely around him. "I'm going to move really fast okay so hold on."

He nods wrapping his arms tightly around my neck. Okay here go. Quickly sprinting out of the room, my legs move fast and I jump through the way we came in, somehow landing gracefully on my feet before running back to the top of the hill.

Letting out a heavy breath, I sigh leaning against the tree to steady myself. My chest rising and falling with each breath I take.

"Can I open my eyes now?" A tiny voice murmurs into my neck and I nod breathing heavily. He slowly takes his face from my neck, blinking his eyes to adjust to the darkness around us and baby blue eyes stare at me.

Cupping his cheeks my eyes searches his own frantically. "Are you okay? They didn't hurt you right?"

He shakes his head, the curls shaking alongside with him. "No." He mumbles staring at me with a hint of curiosity.

I sigh in relief, wetting my lips before looking around me. Where the fuck should I go now?

"But who are you?" He questions looking at me curiously and I grin pushing my hair from my face before standing up straight.

"I'm Storm, Artemis' mate." I reply and his eyes widen in shock.

"You're Artemis mate?" He questions and I grin nodding my head. "Woah she's told me about you! I'm Riley but you can call me Ri for short." He says excitedly a grin on his face.

Chuckling, I nod my head at him. "Okay Ri we need to take you back to mommy okay."

He nods his head at me and I adjust him well in my arms, beginning the walk back to  the pack. I hope Artemis is okay.

The walk back to the pack is quiet until Riley speaks up. "So where is Artemis?"

My brows furrow in concern thinking about how they are still there. "She had to stay behind so I could get you out."

"Oh." He says sadly before perking up once again. "Well she's amazing so I know she'll be fine!"

I smile. "I hope so."

Riley tenses up in my arms and I frown looking at him. "What's wrong?"

He looks around shifting his head closer to me. "There's someone here."

The place is dark to make out any form, listening quietly in the dark forest the sound of faint heartbeat surround me and I quickly tense up narrowing my eyes into the darkness. Not even the moon is bright enough to light up the place.

My jaw tightens, snarls coming from behind the trees and Riley whimpers burying his face back into my neck. I quickly take a step back glaring at the four large wolves slowly stepping out from the shadows.

Fuck! Looking around the forest for a place to hide Riley, my eyes land on a small hole within the roots of the tree and I quickly rush there placing Riley in it. He looks up at me with scared eyes and I smile pressing my finger to my lips.

"I'm scared." He whispers and I nod my head smiling at him.

"I know but how about we do this." He frowns but nods his head hesitantly. "Good, so here's how it's going to be. I want you to stay right here and count from one to hundred with your eyes closed , no peeking and once you're done I'll come get you."

He nods and I smile giving him a thumbs up. He quickly brings his hand to his face and begins counting. I sigh, using some of the leaves to cover him before rising to my feet facing the wolves snarling at me.

They take threatening steps forward growls echoing around me. I need to take them away from this part of the forest, so facing them with a smirk on my face I run.

Their paws thump against the ground as they chase me, even with the speed I now have I can still hear them gaining on me. Fuck! Pushing my legs faster than before with the wind hitting my face with every step, I finally come to a stop once I'm far enough.

I turn around quickly, their howls coming towards me in every direction. Jaws snap at me and I purse my lips facing them. To be honest I don't really know what happened because one minute they are snarling and growling at me and the next they are attacking me.

Somehow, I'm able to avoid their teeth from clamping onto me, quickly stepping back when one snaps the teeth on my leg. I narrow my eyes at him, running behind it gripping the tail tightly and using my strength, I fling it across the forest and I watch it fall limp to the ground.

My eyes widen in shock and I stare at my palms, how? My thoughts get cut off when I'm tackled to the ground, jaws snapping in my face and I grunt gripping the neck to push it away. The wolf tries swiping it's claw at me and I buck my knees, kicking it of me.

The three growl at me crouching low on their belly, murderous glares on their face and I clench my fist, jaw tightening as I stare coldly at them. They all leap at the same time, running straight towards me and I dig my feet to the ground jaw tightening.

A gush of wind flies past me and I see whip of black hair. Artemis raises her hand giving a right hook to the snout of the wolf in the middle, sending it flying across the forest and she quickly twists on her heels grabbing the neck of the one her left and snapping it.

Vibrant violet eyes narrowing at the last wolf as she tilts her neck to the side. The wolf staggers letting out a whimper before it shifts a painful scream escaping his lips as he raises his hand to his head pressing them to his temples.

He staggers to Artemis swinging his arm blindly at her and she catches his fist, twisting his arm behind his back and gripping the back of his head and bashing his face against her knee before twisting his head, letting his body drop to the ground.

She pushes the strands of fallen hair from her face, exhaling a heavy breath as steps over the body, the leaves crunching underneath her shoes. "Are you okay?" She says eyes searching mine worriedly.

"Yeah." I murmur staring at her and she tilts her head to the side a frown on her face.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

I shake my head pulling her into my arms, a sigh of relief escaping me. "I'm just happy you're okay." I murmur and she sighs nuzzling her face against my chest.

My eyes widen and I pull back. "We need to get Riley!" I rush out.

"Storm!" A voice yells and I turn around, the air getting knocked out of me when a tiny body jumps into my arms squeezing my neck tightly.

"Y-you're squeezing to tight." I wheeze out and he quickly loosens his hold pulling back to smile at me sheepishly.

"Sorry."

I grin shaking my head and stroking his hair softly. "It's okay." He grins, eyes shifting to my right side before they widen, quickly wiggling himself in my arms and I drop him to the ground allowing him to rush to Artemis.

She goes on her knees, opening her arms wide, embracing him tightly. "I'm so glad you're safe." She murmurs.

Ollie steps closer to me, patting my back. "You handled yourself quite well."

Shrugging, I nod. "I guess I did." He smiles one last time, tackling Riley to the ground once Artemis let's go of him but turning last minute so he can fall on him.

Riley giggles. "Ollie!"

Ollie wiggles his brow a smirk on his face. "Want to ride on the back of my wolf?"

Riley nods his head clapping his hand excitedly, a giddy smile on his face. He steps back giving Ollie space to shift into his wolf.

Riley stares at him in awe, walking slowly towards him. "Beautiful." He murmurs stroking his fur and Knox sticks his tongue out licking Riley's face and he giggles wiping the slob.

Knox licks him again, wolfish grin on his face before lowering himself allowing Riley to get on.

Once Riley is safely on his back, he giggles a wide smile on his face. "Giddy up horsey!"

Chuckling at them when Knox let's out a huff, tilting his head to the side, electric blue eyes narrowing slightly at him.

Artemis giggles shaking her head. "He said he's not a horse but a charming wolf." I roll my eyes shaking my head at him.

Alpha douche chuckles, also shifting into his wolf and running ahead with Ollie and Riley following.

I glance at Artemis to see a small smile on her face before grabbing her hand in mine. "Let's go."

She nods before a slow smirk appears on her face. "Race you?"

I smirk at her. "It's on." And with that we run, the sound of the wind rushing past us with the giggles of Artemis floating around us.
