Song: Always
Lyrics : So say we'll be always, always.
Through the highs and lows we'll be always.
The moment Storm leaves, a figure from the shadows stands beside her watching the two cuddle on the bed as they sleep in content.
"Do you think he will do it?"
Luna stares blankly, not saying anything before she turns around to face the man. "My dearest mate, you need to help Artemis in this war."
The man purses his lips but sighs nodding. "Anything for you but if it gets out of hand, you need to show Artemis you never abandoned her."
Luna gives him a sad smile and leans her head on his shoulder as she stares at the stars. "Let's hope it doesn't."
Storm's Pov
It was not a dream like I thought it was. Why? Because I can feel it burning deep within my skin. I shift around to face Artemis and I smile staring at the love of my life. She breaths evenly, her lips formed into a pout and a slight frown on her face.
I poke the space between her brows, smoothening out the frown before placing a kiss on her forehead. She lightly smiles and cuddles close to me. I hug her tightly, trying so much not to think about what tomorrow has in store for us.
"It will be fine." I whisper into the darkness, allowing her scent and warmth lure me to sleep.
"Storm."
"Storm." A soft voice says followed by a slight shaking of my body. I groan, searching around blindly until I capture a small body before going back to sleep.
Artemis giggles, the sound softening my heart and I smile to myself tangling myself with her and tightening my hold so she doesn't move.
"C-can't b-b-breath." She gasps struggling a bit but I ignore her, squeezing even tighter until I can feel every part of my body touching hers with no space between us. I even doubt a finger could fit in the space left.
She slaps my back lightly. "Storm!" Her voice coming out muffled and I groan pulling away so I can kiss her.
"Shut up." I mumble against her lips, capturing them once again and she moans. Its her turn to tighten her hold on me now and that makes me smile.
We pull away once breathing becomes a bit difficult and I can't help staring at the swollen red lips. It looks so delectable and inviting. So that's what I do, I kiss her again until she forgets her own name and nothing but my name coming from her lips.
Don't know how long we stayed in bed just kissing and relishing in each other's arms but unfortunately we had to stop because it was time to leave.
Artemis came out of the bathroom in black leather skirt and a black leather top that looked like an armor. She had her black knee length boots on and her her was twisted into a single braid. She kind of looked like Lara croft at this point. Her violet eyes sparkling brightly as she walked towards me with a beautiful smile on her face.
I quickly pull her in my arms burying her face in my chest and let out a deep sigh. "Why do you have to look so beautiful."
She giggles wrapping her arms around me with the left side of her face placed against my chest. I bet she can hear my fast beating heart.
"Thank you." She says but then pulls away to stare at me. Her gaze lingers on my face and I start getting a bit uncomfortable and shy under her unwavering gaze.
"Is something on my face?" I question but she shakes her head and continues staring at me before she looks away with a frown.
"My gut is not feeling so good Storm, like something bad is going to happen." She confesses and I gulp, grabbing her chin and tilting her face up so I can look at those eyes that made me fall for her even more.
"Nothing is going to happen alright. We're gonna stick together throughout this period and after the war ends we can continue working on making a little Artemis or Storm." I grin and she chuckles nodding her head at me.
She takes deep breaths, rolls her shoulder around before looking at me fiercely. "Let's go."
I grin, feeling proud. "That's my girl."
We grab our stuff and head back to where they were camping only to be met by a huge army, waiting for us. I look around, feeling an intense emotion at the number of people willing to fight for us, for Artemis and I smile.
Ollie, Damien, Samaria, Esme, Alec, Alex and Jeremy all stand in front of the groups gathered and Artemis steps forward looking over each and every one gathered in front of her. I see her eyes shift between red and violet indicating the presence of her wolf.
"Hello everyone." Her voice soft yet loud and commanding, capturing the attention of everyone there. "I'm grateful that you all decided to join me in this war. I'm sure you're aware of what you're going to be facing when we get there and I'm not going to sugarcoat this because what ever is going to happen is not like anything before."
If they are terrified they don't show it. Artemis observes them for a minute before nodding her head in approval.
"We're working together to take down a common enemy. Some of you might not return and others might but I will ensure that we come out victorious no matter what." She ends and its followed by sounds of cheers and chants.
I step behind her, resting my hand on her shoulder as I look at the people willing to lay down their lives for her. "You did good." I whisper in her ear and she smiles leaning against my chest.
The sun is slowly creeping out and we both look over the horizon.
"This is it" She says and I stare at the sun with an unreadable expression.
"Mmm." Is all I say.
Artemis steps away from me and walks toward Samaria. "Samaria take your archers with you."
Samaria's cold and indifferent eyes stare at her Alpha before she bows and motions with her hand for the archers to follow her. It's then I notice that almost all of Artemis' warriors are dressed like her, they are in leather.
"Is that the pack armor or something?" I ask once she has dispatched the rest to their post and she smiles calling out one of her pack members. She bows and hands something to her. I look down and notice it's the leather outfit with a pair of boots on it.
She hands them to me with a smile. "Wear it."
I frown, taking it away from her before going somewhere to change. When I get back, I find Alex, Ollie, our pack warriors, Alex warriors and some of Jeremy's pack left. I guess they left.
Artemis turns around when she sees me and her eyes widen. Ollie whistles, seizing me up with his gaze and Alex just scoffs and rolls his eyes.
"You're looking hot." Ollie says with a smirk which earns a low growl and a smack from Artemis. He pouts, rubbing the back of his head with a disgruntled look.
I chuckle at their actions and walk closer to Artemis, my eyes never leaving hers and she blushes, looking down. Stopping in front of her, I tilt her chin up, forcing her to look in my eyes. "Well how do I look?"
She gulps, slowly licking her lips and utters a word that leaves me flabbergasted.
"Yummy." She says giving me a heated gaze and I feel a certain part of myself heating up. I clench my jaw, closing my eyes. I open them only to regret it again when her lust filled eyes continue to stare at me.
Grabbing the back of her head, I forcibly bury her face in my chest as I try to calm myself. "A grandma's butt, Lyle eating pizza, Ollie's ugly face." I repeat the mantra and Ollie scowls when he hears the last part.
Artemis giggles and pulls away but I force her back and continue repeating it till I feel calmed enough to look at her face.
"Alright we can go." I finally say and she nods pulling away from me.
"Before we leave I need to check out something first." She says, taking something from her side and that's when I notice the sword strapped to her waist. It all happened so fast for me to even notice as I felt something slash against my stomach.
With wide eyes I stare at Artemis but she only looks at where she slashed with a satisfied smile. "Perfect." She says and raises her head to look at me.
I look down confused, expecting to see myself bleeding out but nothing like that happens. There isn't even a mark on the leather to show that I was just cut and I look up staring at her in shock.
"H-how?" I stutter, still trying to calm my pounding heart. I thought I was a goner.
Artemis chuckles before fixing her sword back to her side. "I had them made an impenetrable leather armor for you. This should protect you from any attack."
I can only gape at her her but then my features soften as I stare at her. Oh Artemis.
"Let's go." She says and grabs my hand dragging me. The whole journey is filled with silence only the sound of foots moving can be heard. I'm lost in thought about what Luna said but then I shake my head before looking at the woman beside me who has made me feel like no on else has.
I love you Artemis, so much.
"We're here." She says suddenly and we all stop. I look ahead at the huge wasteland in front of us. Through out the journey here, I noticed the atmosphere getting darker and gloomy and I can now understand why.
The place looks nothing like where we were. The ground is bare, looks even worse than a desert and there seems to be the smell of death and blood surrounding us. This place is seriously giving me the chills and not in a good way.
We step out of the woods into the open space. Alex stands beside Artemis and I as we look ahead of us, waiting for them. I look around, trying to make out the rest of our pack members but it's difficult because of a sudden thick fog surrounding us.
Artemis narrows her eyes. "They are almost close." I look past the hill, squinting a bit before I see the tiny fragments moving at a leisurely pace.
I grab Artemis hand, squeezing it gently and she faces me with a gentle smile.
"Bring them." She orders still staring at me and I frown. Just then Ollie comes from the back, with something in his hand. Artemis takes it away from him and he slowly retreats behind. She unwraps the cloth and that's when I see the golden armor. It looks really bright in the dark place.
"It's my mother's." She whispers, staring at it fondly and without wasting time quickly puts it on. The moment she does, I can't help but gasp at her sudden transformation. She looks so much like a warrior.
"Beautiful." I whisper and she grins, her eyes shifting between red and violet again. An unfathomable feeling spreads through my body and I frown cupping her cheeks, staring deeply into her eyes.
"No matter what happens, I'll always be there, protecting and loving you."
She frowns giving me a confused look and I smile flicking her forehead before kissing her deeply. "I love you Artemis, always and forever." I mutter.
"Always and forever." She whispers back, pecking my lips one last time before straightening herself. This time even I can tell they are here.
I can see everyone tensing up, their defenses high and alert as we all stare at the army in front of us. I mask my shocked expression at the number before us. No wonder Luna said we might not win this.
The dude went all out.
Three people step forward and I clench my fist narrowing my eyes at the smug look on Arson's face.
The growls behind them intensify, the wolves howling and snarling at us. Ace or better yet Ares steps forward, also dressed in a similar outfit like Artemis but his is in a blood red colour.
I mentally role my eyes, so dramatic.
"What a lovely surprise." He grins, a sinister look in his eyes but Artemis just remains quiet and aloof staring at him with her hands behind her back. Ares tilts his head, pouting a little.
"Not gonna talk little one?" He questions and from behind I hear a low 'fuck off'. It makes me chuckle a bit knowing it's Ollie who said that.
Artemis unresponsive nature seems to irritate him but then he smirks looking at the people behind Artemis. "Is this the people you've gathered to fight me." He clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "Will it be enough."
"Jeez, I bet the one eyed ass got this attitude from him, practically having a conversation with himself." Ollie murmurs again and this time everyone tries muffling their laugh with a cough even Alex clears his throat a bit.
Arson looks at a particular direction, probably hearing what Ollie said and narrows his marron red eye at him.
Ares scoffs looking at Artemis in disdain. "Just like how I killed your family decades ago. I'm going to do the same and I'll make sure your reunion with your family will be--"
"Are you done?" Artemis finally cuts him off with bored look and I chuckle shaking my head, only her. This infuriates him a lot but then he smirks.
He doesn't say anything and walks back to his position. "Your finally awaits your arrival."
Artemis ignores him, draws her sword out and gives him a sadistic smirk. "We'll see."
He growls, putting his helmet on and signals the wolves. "Attack!"
Artemis' eyes shift to a fiery red and she grins, her canines flashing. "Let's do this."
A/N; I missed y'all so much!! AFM is almost coming to an end with maybe three chapters left and an epilogue. I wanna try doing a double update so it might take awhile before the chapters will be updated.
In another news, I'm working on two new books which will both be going up after I'm done with AFM. Don't wanna give too much out but it's also different as well.
For the next chapters, I will write in third point of view and maybe occasionally switch to the first person pov, so I really hope you still read and enjoy it as much. I know some might not like reading books in third person so I hope you stick with it.
Anywho, hope you enjoyed this chapter because the next ones are going to be intense as heck. Don't forget to leave a comment, vote and share if you want.
Peace out ;)
