Bear-san Explores The Room, Part 2
âYuna-oneesan. Am I still not allowed to see it?â (Fina)
While we were doing something stupid, Fina tried to check us out from behind Swaying Bear. But Swaying Bear moves his body to block Finaâs view.
Swaying Bearâs defense is like an iron wall.
âAh, just a little longer.â (Yuna)
We checked the skeleton to ensure there was nothing but the wand and then covered it with a sheet.
Of course, that role also goes to Mia.
Mia does it with a disgusted look on her face. At that time, she was doing it while glancing at Kagali-san so as not to be surprised.
âUgh, itâs fine now.â (Mia)
After making sure the sheets properly covered it, I called Fina.
Fina came out from behind Swaying Bearâs back. Swaying Bear didnât block her.
âSo what happened?â (Fina)
âA wand or something?â (Yuna)
Our gaze turns to the wand in Miaâs hand.
A wand about 30 cm long, with a magic stone the size of Finaâs small fist, inlaid at the tip.
Mia looks at the wand, but quickly gives up and gives it to Carol.
âIâm not a wizard, Carol, what do you think?â (Mia)
âI can use magic, but Iâm not familiar with wands either.â (Carol)
âWhat about you, Yuna?â (Mia)
âLikewise, I donât know much about it.â (Yuna)
Iâve never used a wand before, so I donât know any more about it than Carol.
âHey, let me see it.â (Kagali)
As everyone gave up, Kagali-san, who was on Hugging Bear, reached out her hand.
âWhat? Youâre just a little girl, you donât need it yet.â (Mia)
âItâs fine, just show it to her.â (Yuna)
âIt canât be helped.â (Mia)
While saying that, Mia hands over the wand to Kagali-san.
Upon receiving the wand, Kagali-san moves it around to check it from different angles.
âDo you know what it is?â (Mia)
âThey put a lot of things on this wand.â (Kagali)
âReally?â (Mia)
Mia looks at Kagali-san with suspicious eyes.
You canât tell just by looking at it.
âIn the first place, can a little girl like you understand? To me, it just looks like a normal short wand.â (Mia)
âYeah, even I canât see it.â (Carol)
Carol also agrees with Miaâs words.
âItâs the difference in life experiences.â (Kagali)
âLife experience, you say? How old are you?â (Mia)
âItâs rude to ask a woman her age.â (Kagali)
âWhy are you talking like a grown woman?â (Mia)
Fina and I laughed at those words.
Well, sheâs an old lady on the inside, so what Mia is saying is correct.
âFor the time being, Yuna. Try pouring magic into this wand. It might tell us something.â (Kagali)
Kagali-san held out the wand toward me.
âMe?â (Yuna)
âI could do it myself, but it would be troublesome.â (Kagali)
âYeah, but itâs not dangerous, is it?â (Yuna)
âI donât know. All I know is that this is no ordinary wand.â (Kagali)
When you put it that way, itâs tough.
I receive the wand from Kagali-san, and bite it with my bear puppetâs mouth.
Then I try to use bear eyes.
But it simply showed a âwandâ and nothing else.
Hmmm, there isnât anything suspicious about it.
Just like Kagali-san did, I turned the wand around and observed it.
Lines and circles were carved into the wand, which looked like a series of magic circles. Kagali-san might be talking about this.
âEtto, Yuna. You donât have to do it If itâs dangerous. I donât want anything to happen to you, Yuna.â (Mia)
âYouâre worried about me?â (Yuna)
âWhat? Is it bad if I worry about you, Yuna!? If I can use magic, Iâll do it for you instead.â (Mia)
âYou probably need a certain amount of magic to make it work.â (Kagali)
âThen Iâll do it.â (Carol)
Carol slowly raises her hand.
âFine. I get it. I should do it.â (Kagali)
âNo, Iâll do it. Itâs not definite that something will happen.â (Yuna)
Besides, Iâm the only one who can respond if something does happen.
Mia, whoâs not a magician, might not have enough magic power. Carol, who seems to be athletically inept, would be a liability, and having Fina do it was out of the question. Also, Kagali-san is not in perfect condition.
I have my bear costume to protect me should anything happen.
Fina looks worried, so I reassure her by saying, âIâll be fineâ.
I asked everyone to stand back a little. After confirming this, I poured magic power into the wand. There was no response, so I poured more magic power.
Then, the magic stone attached to the tip of the wand glowed and immediately disappeared.
We looked at the wand.
âNothing happened?â (Yuna)
âSo itâs a normal wand?â (Mia)
âI thought there would be some kind of reaction, but thatâs strange.â (Kagali)
Kagali-san tilts her head.
âWhat? You made me worry for nothing?â (Mia)
âMaybe the reason is that we canât use magic tools here.â (Kagali)
âSo, is that wand different from a normal wand?â (Mia)
âDunno.â (Yuna)
My bear eyes only say âwandâ.
âCan you use magic with that wand?â (Carol)
A long time ago, I took off my bear puppet and tried using magic with a wand, but the magic didnât activate.
In other words, there is no point in doing it without my bear puppet, if I canât do it with my bear puppet on, but I cannot be sure.
I looked around the room and gave Carol the wand.
Carol is the right choice for this.
âIt doesnât look like thereâs any danger, so Carol go ahead and try it.â (Yuna)
âEtto, yes. Iâll try casting light.â (Carol)
When I give Carol the wand, she tries to cast her magic, but it does not activate.
âJust as Kagali-chan said, we canât seem to activate the magic of the wand here.â (Carol)
âAnd it didnât glow this time.â (Mia)
âPerhaps I have less magic?â (Carol)
âThat would be different. If thatâs the case, it wonât serve as a magic wand. You should think that the purpose of the use is different.â (Kagali)
âIf you donât know how to use it, then, isnât it trash? The magic stone is reasonably large though, so it could be sold.â (Mia)
The magic stone is about the size of Tiger Wolfâs magic stone.
âDo you think it would sell well? Yuna, how about it?â (Mia)
If youâre asking me whether I want it or not, I donât.
But magic stones are sometimes useful.
âYeah, okay. Iâll buy it.â (Yuna)
âReally!? Thank you.â (Mia)
Mia looks happy.
âSo, how do we go from here? Do you want me to pay now?â (Yuna)
âLater is fine. Besides, that may not be the only treasure, so it would be better to settle it all up together later.â (Mia)
âYouâre not gonna think Iâm running away without paying?â (Yuna)
âI know that Yuna would never do such a thing. In the first place, thereâs no merit for you to run away from us. Besides, even if you escaped, you have saved us many times, so the cost is already paid for.â (Mia)
Unexpected words came out.
I feel a little embarrassed when someone tells me how much they trust me, face to face.
âIâll keep this wand then.â (Yuna)
I put the wand in the bear box.
âThen letâs resume our search in this room.â (Kagali)
We split up and explored the room again.
Besides the bed, thereâs a bookshelf, drawers, a desk, and a table. Itâs like having a bed in a laboratory.
I looked around the room for anything of interest, but there was nothing in particular.
Kagali-san also looked around the room restlessly, and Mia looked under the bed while feeling sick. Carol is walking around the room wondering where to look.
I looked at Fina and saw her pulling a desk drawer.
âU~u, it wonât open.â (Fina)
Fina is trying very hard to pull the desk drawer, but to no avail.
Swaying Bear is cheering for her by crying âKuu~nâ.
âFina, let me handle it.â (Yuna)
âIâm sorry, Yuna-oneesan.â (Fina)
âThat, right there, should be a thank you.â (Yuna)
ââ¦â¦Yes, thank you.â (Fina)
In place of Fina, I put my hand on the drawer and try to pull it lightly, but I canât pull it out.
Something seems to be stuck.
Is it the lock?
In that case, Iâm going to pull as hard as I can.
Then the desk collapsed with a loud noise and the drawer I pulled out was yanked out.
âWhat!?â (Mia)
âWhat!?â (Kagali)
I got pushed backwards by the momentum and fell on my buttocks.
I guess I put more effort into it than I thought I should.
âYuna-oneesan, are you okay?!â (Fina)
Fina approached me worriedly.
âIâm okay. Iâm alright.â (Yuna)
Thanks to the bear equipment, my butt doesnât hurt.
If it werenât for the bear equipment, my delicate butt might have been bruised.
âJeez, you scared the crap out of me.â (Kagali)
âDonât startle me! I hit my head on the bed.â (Mia)
âThat surprised me.â (Carol)
âIâm sorry. I was just trying to put a little bit of force into it.â (Yuna)
For the time being, it was my fault, so I apologized.
âSo, Yuna-oneesan. Did you find anything in the drawer?â (Fina)
I look at the drawer in my hand.
âThereâs a box in here.â (Yuna)
Itâs a metal box.
Itâs about the size of a toolbox held by an elementary school student.
âI wonder whatâs in it?â (Mia)
Mia p eers in from the side.
Lured by that, Carol and Kagali-san also come.
âIâll open it.â (Mia)
Mia takes the box out of the drawer that I am holding.
âMia-chan, it might be dangerous.â (Carol)
âItâs not like any of these knight armors are going to come here.â (Mia)
After saying that, she tried to open the iron box, but it wouldnât open.
âItâs rusty and wonât open.â (Mia)
âLet me open itâ (Yuna)
I picked up the box and opened the lid with all my strength while being careful this time.
âYou really have such incredible power. So whatâs in it?â (Mia)
âBook?â (Yuna)
I took out the book inside.
âA book? Or rather, more like a notebook.â (Yuna)
Itâs too thin to be called a book, and itâs more fitting to call it a notebook. (TN: Thatâs a doujinshi!)
Inside the box were two notebooks.
One of the notebooks had the word ârecordâ written on its cover.
