XG 153 - She is not a chess piece
"She is not a chess piece that you can move around as you will," Charles Wong said.
"No matter whether you want to or not, that dice had already started rolling. He had already known Wong Xue Guo is a threat to his existence," Master Sheng said.
"Thanks to your lies!" Suzie Yap silently sneaked up to Master Sheng's back and stabbed the right side of his hip. She even drives it deeper and twists the knife in a grudgeful manner.
But it was yet another illusion that she attacked.
Charles Wong pointed his gun in another direction and pressed the trigger. Master Sheng dodged and manifested himself again, which showed that Charles Wong's senses were rather sharp. His ability to create illusions that could trick a person's five senses no longer worked effectively on Charles Wong.
Pressing on the previous bullet wound that grazed his upper arm, Master Sheng removed Wong Xue Guo's illusion and eyed the smashed floors above him, which allowed him to see the sky without obstacles. "We don't have much time to talk, nor do I want to continue changing your minds with illusions. I know his weakness and I could get close to him without him on guard. Your self-declaration of defeating him in your own way might work, but at what cost?"
"That cause could be eliminated if you are not hell-bent on sacrificing my daughter," Suzie Yap said coldly.
"I just put her up as bait, a cover. Whether she will get to survive till the end, will depend on her and also on the effort of everyone that loves her. But of course, I have my role to play so that I can stay by his side for the right opportunity. If my actions while playing my role somehow killed her, her death is nothing other than an unfortunate casualty."
"And the only thing to blame will be our failure to protect her? No bloody way will I accept that," Suzie Yap scorned.
Master Sheng shrugged uncaringly. "Either way, we both have the same goal. Since you refuse to work with me, I can only regrettably hope that our endeavours will be fruitful."
"What is his weakness?" Charles Wong questioned.
"Ah that... since we are not cooperating with each other, I shall not tell you about it. It's just like the saying 'how could one foolishly let others take credit for their hard work?'"
"Indeed so. It's also our right to make use of the fact that you are a 'traitor' in their group and buy us some time too," Suzie Yap taunted.
Master Sheng faintly smiled. "They will not believe you, but you are welcome to try anything that would help you with your endeavours."
"Because you expect us to do the same for you?" Suzie Yap started the fight again by throwing large rubble at Master Sheng, only for it to only hit a guy that had the unfortunate timing to fall down from the top floor.
"Unfortunately, our chat has to end here."
It was possibly the largest snake anyone ever had seen in the entire world, as it slithers down from the top floor to the wine cellar. The large green snake allowed Master Sheng to step on it, clearly belonging to Master Sheng.
Charles Wong created more metal poles to impale the giant snake, but it was surprisingly fast and flexible even with that size and ended up escaping with Master Sheng without getting impaled even once.
"Not chasing after them?" Charles Wong asked his wife when she just watched them leave. He casually used his ability to smack pieces of bricks falling from above, away from him and his wife.
As for the pitiful people that fallen off from above floors? The couple forgot about them.
"Both of us hardly overpower that fortune teller. And we are not suitably attired to deal with that snake guy's poisons. Anyway, as long as he still wants to overthrow his 'Lord', he won't be our enemy for now."
Suzie Yap could feel the after-effects of forcing her not yet well-trained body to do more than it could. If this was her body before the time travel, she would have easily thrown down the slippery Fortune Teller Sheng. Not to mention, she could feel Fortune Teller Sheng was holding back his strength, or else his punch would deal greater injury to her.
Fortune Teller Sheng was right with one thing. As long as Wong Xue Guo remained carefully protected, it would be difficult for the Lord's henchmen to kill her.
Suzie Yap tossed much larger rubble that she failed to throw to a side, creating more clouds of dust. Rubbing her abused arms, she said, "Let's hurry back to Guo Guo."
Charles Wong created a large, round metal plate for both of them to step on. Wrapping a protective arm around his beloved wife's waist, he levitated the metal plate, using it to get them out of here. It looked easy, but manipulating the shapes of metal was much easier compared to lifting heavy items using the ability itself.
"Did you not look forward to paying a visit to your favourite boutique?"
His beautiful wife's long eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings. Suzie Yap did not deny it quickly, which was rather telling. "We are in a hurry."
"There others still have other things they need to clean up before we could return. We had stopped Moretti and were unlikely to have anyone attack Musihada anytime soon. Chin Chun is also there to look after her."
"That heir of yours could look after her?" Suzie Yap sneered.
"He has a good sense of propriety. Kang Xunsu and the rest of the bodyguards are also there. That kid is also there to look after her."
Each of her husband's points was valid. Suzie Yap herself had been itching for shopping after a long time as well. She could barely remember the last time she had shopped without worries, which was more than ten years ago.
Suzie Yap let her tired and aching body completely relax in her husband's arms, confident that he would be able to support her weight."... Alright. It's also time to search for new clothing for my baby."

Winter finally ended, the snow melting and welcoming spring. It was a season every survivor was looking forward to, as the cold climate was truly difficult to survive. There were many who dared to choose Summer over Winter to live in.
The new season was where they would have harvesting opportunities for survivors, and also changed in zombies' hunting pattern.
Without the winter wind and plentiful snow restricting their movement, the zombies became more active and there were even more survivors who were either eaten or turned into zombies. More survivors headed to Masan street to stay and Jihyo had a headache about what to do with them. Accepting them was fine as they also did not want to leave other survivors to death, but would the newcomers follow their base's rules so that order can be preserved?
Even Musihada Laboratory, which was surrounded by an electric fence and constantly reinforced gate, was worried about the sudden activity of the zombies. The survivors camped at Musihada Land originally had reduced by almost eighty percent of the number. Now that zombies became more active, the survivors came back again to camp on their land.
Seeing this, those in the know of the secret thought that no wonder the time travellers say to be careful when winter ends.
In response to this, the directors suggested that the Awaken people could test their ability on the zombies. At the same time, they would be helping eliminate dangers. There were some Awaken people who had their ability improved from constant usage and thus Musihada strongly encouraged it.
Their movement would also serve as propaganda, earning more trust from the survivors and helping their rebuilding process smoother. Musihada Laboratory had become more ambitious, as not only would they search for a cure, but they would also expand their territory and rebuild their city!
