Colby's POV

"So do we have a plan or are we just raw dogging it?" Nate asked Sam parked the car.

"We don't really have a plan, other than get Julia the fuck out of there." I said with a sigh and looked at the house in front of us.

It made me sick that she was being held hostage in there and has been for the past month and a half.

I should have been more proactive with this and should have infiltrated a long time ago.

"How are we expecting to get in?" Sam asked as I looked at Jeremy.

"You're gonna go in and pretend Will told you about the business. You'll say you want in." I said as he nodded. "Not bad." Sam said with a laugh.

"Once he's in there, he's gotta make a distraction. Then we can get in and find Julia's room." I said as the guys nodded.

"Are we understood?" I asked and looked at each of them.

"What do we do if plans change?" Sam asked as I shrugged.

"We wing it. The main objective is getting Julia out of there, I don't care who does it or what happens to me. She needs to be saved." I said then looked at the house again.

"We'll get her out but you're not sacrificing yourself." Sam asked as I nodded. "I'll do what I have to do. Now get in there." I said to Jeremy.

"Sure thing, boss." He said then got out of the car. "I wish we had a more solid plan." Nate said nervously.

"I do, too. I just can't have her in there any longer." I said with intensity and look at the house.

I was scanning it, trying to find the best way to get in without being too obvious. I knew it sounded ridiculous but I was banking on the front door being the best.

"What are the chances of us getting murdered if we go through the front door?" I asked causing Sam's eyes to widen.

"You're fucking insane, dude." He said as I nodded.

"Right. So I'm thinking that window." I said and pointed to a window on the side of the house. "Okay, yeah." Nate said as I nodded.

"Let's go then." I said then got out of the car.

I usually didn't feel a lot of fear in most situations. I was used to these sorts of missions but this was a different beast that I didn't know I could handle.

Part of me knew this would be the last thing I would do, but I wasn't afraid of that.

I was afraid we wouldn't be able to save Julia.

When we got to the window, I looked in to see a girl pacing around a room, she looked like she was crying with her hands on her head.

She was wearing regular street clothes though so I assumed she had just been grabbed tonight.

Before I could even communicate the next plan, Nate was chuckling. "Got it." He mumbled then opened the window after picking the lock.

"Fuck, you're good." I said then opened the window and hopped down. Before the girl could scream, I covered her mouth.

"We're not here to hurt you." I said as her tear-filled gaze met mine.

I didn't know this girl, nor did I particularly care about her but if this was how scared she was on her first night here, I didn't want to know how scared Julia was.

"If anyone recognizes me, go to Julia's room. Get her out of here." I instructed then went to pick the lock on the door.

"Are you gonna save me, too?" The girl whispered as I sighed. "I can't promise anything." I said then opened the door, drawing my gun.

The hallways were eerily empty, not a soul around.

It made me feel like I needed to be extra careful, because even though I couldn't see the people around, they were possibly there.

"I hit the jackpot tonight." A man said as he walked down the hallway with another guy.

"How so?" The other guy asked as Sam, Nate, and I stuck close to the walls.

"I finally have my appointment with Juliana." He said, sending a chill of anger down my spine. It look literally everything in me to not kill this guy right now.

"When's the appointment?" The other guy asked as I looked at Sam. Before I could hear the answer though, someone shouted from behind us.

When we turned around there were two men, rushing towards us.

"Fuck." I mumbled and held my gun up. I didn't want to shoot because it would be a loud noise, but I would if I had to.

"Adam's gonna have a field day with you." One of the guys said as I chuckled and charged at him.

I knew this had to be the moment that Nate could slip away.

I used the butt of my gun to hit one of the guys in the head before Sam joined in, fighting the other.

I was grateful that Nate got the hint because I didn't see him around.

After a couple minutes of fighting, I was able to knock one of the guys out and Sam got the other.

I knew it was optimistic to think that that was the end but before I could even react, I was being knocked out myself.

When I woke up, I was in a room with Sam and Jeremy. "God damnit." I grumbled then kicked Sam in the leg, causing him to groan.

"What?" He asked groggily as he came to his senses. "We got fucking caught." I said then kicked Jeremy.

"Huh." Jeremy said as he blinked slowly. "What happened?" I asked as he sighed.

"They saw right through me, then they got an alert about a window opening in one of the girls' rooms. They knew we were here." Jeremy explained.

"Well, fuck. Where is Nate?" I asked, hoping that he got Julia out of here at least. "Don't know." Sam said as the door opened. "Thank fuck." Nate said as he ran into the room.

"What's going on?" I asked, looking at him. He had blood all over his shirt and on his arms but he didn't seem to be injured.

"I killed the guy who was assaulting Julia. She took the blame though and she's in a lot of fucking danger now." Nate said as my blood ran cold.

"What do you mean she took the blame?" I asked as he quickly untied us.

"I mean that she made it seem like she killed him. We have to fucking go." He said urgently as I nodded and stood up so I could help Nate untie the others.

"Where did they take her?" Sam asked as I untied him. "No idea." Nate said frantically. I didn't like the idea of Julia taking the blame for this.

I knew she was a strong girl who was fiercely protective over the people she cared about.

This sort of action would get her killed though.

Once we were all untied, I reached for my gun, only to feel that it was gone. "Fuck." I hissed then closed my eyes.

I knew these people were fucking good, but I couldn't understand how they were so ahead.

It could have been because my gang members were a part of this, but I knew my men.

Even they weren't capable of running a place like this.

"They have our guns. They're going to kill her." Jeremy said as I shook my head. "No, we just need to find new guns." I said then angrily made my way out of the room.

I knew Julia was always in danger while she was here, but now that I knew she was in serious danger with a high chance of being killed, I had a new fire within me.

I wasn't going to let them take her, no matter what.

I could hear Sam trying to talk me down from the plan I had just formulated in my head but there was literally no stopping me.

We walked down the hallway for a minute before I saw a guy standing guard in front of a door. Before he could even see me coming, I was charging at him and snapping his neck.

"Fuck, dude." Nate said as I grabbed the gun from him. "Wait here." I said as Sam shook his head.

"We're doing this together, man." He said and grabbed my arm, stopping me from moving.

"You don't have a weapon." I said as he chuckled. "No, you didn't." He said then reached down and lifted his arm, revealing a gun that was strapped under his upper arm.

"You're a badass." I said with a laugh then looked at the others. "Find a weapon, get back here. Be safe." I said then turned to go into the room that was previously guarded.

"Got it, boss." Nate and Jeremy said then turned to go do as they were told. "Ready for this?" I asked Sam as he nodded.

"As ready as I'll ever be." He said as I opened the door.

My heart dropped as we walked into the room to see Will and Julia's dead father standing in the middle of the room, and Julia tied up in the corner.
